    I remember watching the game when Iverson crossed Jordan like it was yesterday. I was in middle school we talked about that for two weeks. Iverson had everyone in the gym trying to cross niggas when we hooped lol. He is a guranteed top 50 greatest of the next generation and a shoe in to the hall of fame. The originator of crossing niggas over in the NBA. He brought the playground to the hardwood first. He crossed Jordan and Kobe lol I think his names deserve some recognition.

      Jason Nobles Yeah the 76ers dropped the ball on putting a good team behind him or atleast getting him a number 2 guy like Pippen and Kobe and Shaq. He was good but not that good even Jordan had help. He was a lonesome dove in philly. Still was a great player he got his team to the finals and consistantly in the playoffs

    Allen Iverson!!!!! , best player ever , you have to think , in terms of pure skills , nobody has or will be better than Iverson, look at his size and complexion ,he´s not even 6 2" , and he was still mopping the floor with everybody, they wanted to challenge his speed ,they sent a PG , didn´t work, someone taller? a SG , nah ,someone stronger? a SF or a PF , bah , AI schooled 'em all , he even had some penetrations and lay ups against Shaq , he was fearless like nobody else in the game, unstoppable one on one , it´s a shame he never had another All-Star to win a lot of Championships, what Iverson did with Philly , no other player in the history would have accomplished it by himself like "The Answer" did , long live to the uncrown King.

    • @KTD82291
      @KTD82291 Před 9 lety +1

      *****
      Well based on that logic, Nash is a better defender than Bruce Bowen due to the fact that Nash averaged more steals per game; though you and I both know that isn't true. Allen Iverson was a better defender than Nash, yes that is true. Though I'd much rather take Steve Nash because of his ability to lead a team. He's a 2x MVP for a reason.
      Nash hasn't been to the NBA Finals because he was in a much harder conference. They would've gone in 2007 if not for Amare Stoudemire getting suspended in the WCF over Robert Horry's cheap shot against Steve Nash.
      With the exception of the Lakers, Iverson's stiffest competition was the Milwaukee Bucks, led by Ray Allen. How many ECF appearances has Iverson made? How many 50+ win seasons has he had?

    I was born in the mid 80's and my top 10 favorite teams to watch:
    1. 90's Chicago Bulls (for MJ, Scottie and Rodman and because _everybody elevated their game when playing for or against the Bulls_)
    2. 90's Houston Rockets (for Hakeem the Dream -- the greatest center ever)
    3. 80's Boston Celtics (for Larry Bird -- the definition of mental toughness)
    4. 80's Los Angeles Lakers (for Magic's triple-doubles and their rivalry w/ the Celtics)
    5. 90's Detroit Pistons (for the energy of Isaiah Thomas and their 'brutal' rivalry with MJ and the Bulls)
    6. 90's Utah Jazz (for the second greatest duo of the 90's, Malone and Stockton)
    7. 90's Indiana Pacers (for the showmanship of Reggie Miller)
    *8. 2000's Philadelphia 76ers (for Allen Iverson -- never saw anyone play with more heart)*
    9. 2000's Phoenix Suns (for Steve Nash -- the smartest and most inventive playmaker since Magic)
    10. 2000's Cleveland Cavaliers (for the physical specimen that is LeBron James)
    Honorable mention: 2000's Boston Celtics (for Rajon Rondo -- my personal favorite since Iverson)
    * I never liked watching the Lakers after the turn of the century. Too many already-established HOFamers, plus I wasn't a big fan of Kobe's style of 'team' play.

    Best part of this compilation: nearly every single highlight ended with Iverson scoring. Its one thing to be able to cross someone, it's entirely different to finish it with a shot. And most of his shots were either 20 feet out, or smack in the middle of traffic, crazy angles, falling to one side, off the glass.

    Somehow I came across this video and while I wasn't a big Iverson fan back in the day... I think now that he hasn't played in quiet a few years I think watching these highlights shows the great dribbling ability he had... if you noticed most of the time he always went right, mostly I think because he never developed the way to lay up with his left hand, but that didn't stop him, he just developed different ways and fakes to get him to his right hand layup.

    • @Justs99171
      @Justs99171 Před 9 lety

      Good observation. However, he could go left he just had to finish right handed. This was 1 of two major weaknesses in his game. The other and more critical was poor rotation on his shot. I am not sure why this wasn't fixed.

    • @fmaruchan
      @fmaruchan Před 9 lety

      Justs99171 Well, more than likely it was due to lack of practice. He did publicly say like 100x when questioned about "Practice" that it wasn't going to make him any better. He had a lot of off the court issues and I believe that contributed a lot to his play. Just imagine how much better he would of been if he practiced on the things he needed to work on, he would be scoring 45+ pts easily.

    What I like about Jordan vs AI was that they were both thinking ahead. Jordan failed the first time, readjusted his feet, and guessed A.I would this time go the same direction he thought he'd go the first time. Wrong he was...battle of the minds though like rock paper scissors. Jordan def did the best defending with the quick readjustment of his feet.

    problem with lowest ranking order. the Jordan crossover should have been number 1 due to it being Jordan and his being an all time defender. the lue crossover should have been 2 due to the tight space he created the play, in front of the lakers bench, and steps over lue for the humiliation play. the daniels crossover should have been high teens. was not special. daniels was an average player and ai did push off on his knee. Where was the Marbury crossover from rookie year? stephon was a rival and similar talent.
