Very happy to have found your channel 😁😁 Watching your videos brings me lots of fond memories ‘cause we have something in common. My husband and I moved to Melbourne with 2 children in 1993. We lived in Vermont South and I still remember our beautiful house. Your videos help me revisit places like the Glen, Jells Park …… 🙏🙏 we returned to hk in 1997. Despite short stay in Australia, my 2 children did benefit from their experience there. Now we are already in our 60’s and too old to move back 😅😅 will visit friends and places in Melbourne which is my first place to go when travelling is possible. Wish you and your family happy and healthy in Australia!

Congratulations! You made the right decision. It’s a lot easier for the kids to settle in a new country. Australia is a beautiful country to bring up children. A country full of hope n opportunities especially for the second generation. I strongly believe in equal opportunity if you continue to work hard. The social system is one of the best in the world. The professors perception is a myth about the career developments n wealth opportunities in HK. There are winners n losers. The whole family should be thankful to you n u should tell them. These days, a lot easier for the elderly to settle in Australia due to the early adaptation of the multiculturalism policy. They can get by without speaking English in many suburbs. Wishing you n your family all the best in the future! Take care n stay safe, lockdown in Syd n Mel!
We’re extremely fortunate, indeed, to be able to live here. One of the reasons for making this video is to record our family history and to let the kids know how fortunate they’re thanks to the decisions that their grandparents had made.
To me, there’s more to life than wealth and status so if it means forgoing those things for a better quality of life I’m all for it 😬

前幾年我都係在澳洲返左香港結婚生左小朋友，我都係在墨爾本居住。😊 不過我老公都唔願意放棄香港嘅事業，在澳洲要重新開始一切，又係擔心搵食艱難，太多唔確定。
移民係一個好大嘅決定，一定會思前想後要諗得好清楚好有信心先去做。其實亦都可能會遇到很多變數所以都要有心理準備, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. 所以我好佩服我阿爸阿媽當年真係好勇比着我要由零開始我都唔知我有冇勇氣去移民。
對男士來講事業好緊要，如果喺香港覺得安穩都好可能唔會想走。但係女士可能會比較concern啲細路所以會想搵一個好啲嘅環境比佢哋成長。夫妻真係要喺啲兩方面取得平衡。有陣時真係可能要等到時機成熟，雙方都覺得it’s the right time to move 先可以成事如果唔係日後生活有咩不順景就可能會埋怨對方。

另類的「單親」的確唔容易，兩夫妻咁後生分隔5年（好在每3-4個月也能相聚）也經營得唔容易。替你高興你守得雲開了，最後亦老老嫩嫩一家團聚。祝福你們一家。

Thanks for watching! Glad to hear that your hubby is enjoying Melbourne. This was not exactly a park, it was a reserve area in the middle of some commercial buildings at Lakeside Drive in Burwood East. If you like parks like this one, perhaps you could visit Jells Park in Wheelers Hill😊

Haha I’m petrified by furry animals. I’ve ‘toughened up’ in being around cats and dogs over the years, provided that we keep a social distance 😅. My dad used to say that I’d ‘bark’/ scream before the dog does🙄
My kids have asked for a pet over the years but my answer has remained the same 🙅🏻♀️ I had gold fishes in HK and maybe could deal with tortoises but that’s as far as I would go in terms of pets 😆
@@AussieHKC9 We shall be freed from quarantine this Friday so we’ll find out how Melbourne is. I guess very quiet until end of month 😊😊.. I’m also terrified of rats and possums. That’s why I am so inspired by your experience!!!
I have been quite worried about Australia being such an animal friendly country and I know many ppl keep pets. I hope I’d be able to overcome my fear at some point.

If I can overcome my fear (somewhat), so can you! A cat came to my backyard once, it was the first, and only time, after having lived here for a couple of years. It just sat there staring at me through the glass door. It looked as though it wanted me to let him in😣 I didn’t know what to do. For some reason, I thought I had to do something, so I called the council to see if they could get someone here to check on the cat in case it was lost🙄. The guy on the phone said, ‘It sounds like you’re afraid of cats…’ I think he was trying very hard not to laugh 😆 I felt like such an idiot! The council of cos did not entertain my request. Luckily the cat left after a while 😪
