There were always 2 or 3 nights during the summer at 2:00 AM or 3:00 AM when these went off. We had no A/C, so we kept the windows open. Never could get back to sleep for a while. After the siren went down I always heard the trucks leaving the station. I miss those days.
I remember those days when we at are fire department use to set are off at noon Monday though Friday. I remember one day I was working at the fire station when it went off and the plaid guys told me we have a very big fire and jump on the back of engine 471 and your job was to take the hydrant. It was a very cold day and when we got close i realized that I was about to jump off and take the hydrant and the captain was there watching me doing it right now I told the fire truck to lay in and after I got all done the captain came up to me and told me he was happy with my job and now he wants me to scout up and help fight the fire. It was very big fire at a apartment fire.
I live in Goldsboro Pa down the river and when TMI switched out all the sirens for new ones we took over the old siren and changed the tones on it. Now it blows twice and sounds good.
Didn't know because i don't live in america. I live in Britan. Edit: We use to have a chemical plant siren in the late 90's but it was taken down along with the chemical plant. But I was lucky because since im a siren enthusiast, they gave it to me
WHY DO THESE GO OFF!? Are they necessary?! It goes off every night in Philly. Are they for guidance, to make ppl aware there’s a fire, or to just annoy the entire fuXking neighborhood! Someone explain please.
Philadelphia fire doesn't use these sirens on their stations... you're probably hearing an alarm from one of the refineries or a volunteer station from one of the suburbs.
Siren: Goes off
Firefighters: We need to take cover
Air raid.🚨
Sounds like the siren in the town I grew up and started my Fire service career in.

My dad is a roofer and he was fixing the roof on a fire station and the siren went off he almost fell of the roof
We offer to shut ours off during work, we just have to send out a memo, so everyone else has their pagers with them.
I think I would like to see them make a comeback actually Why not use sirens at the firehouse as a backup

THIS WAS ON MY FRIENDS BIRTHDAY!
Same siren as my local fire department
We have the same siren at our fire department
Whats the call
Nice footage
Face away from flash until 10 seconds after first light.
Looks like they either have a Federal Signal Model 5 or Model 7
we have this Model 5 in Sanborn NY..
My department uses the same siren
Fire Station sirens are all but no existent in the Harrisburg Pa area. What a shame I love them.
I have 3 sirens still active near me. 2 STH-10A sirens and a diaphone.

Just outside of Pittsburgh we have STL 10s, 2T22's, Models 5, Models 7s, Sirex 20V's
@@WillyBillyBoy24 we have an STH-10, I’d like to know what 205 has, a lot less shrill than ours.
Federal sign and signal model 5/7
That is a Federal Signal Model 5
Super loud
Kinda slow getten out door ?vfalse alarm?
This is a model 7 siren
Wow. It has the same port and chopper level as an SD-10 even though it's a model 7/3
Um no....the SD10 has a 9/12 port ratio while this has a single tone 12 port.

I don't C anyone
Canceled before they could roll.
I heard another siren in the background
i see a model 5 siren on the roof
THAT'S A FEDERAL 7T
Might be a 7 but its not a 7T. 7T is dual tone and this is not.
FS model 5 or FS model 7
Fedelcode type 7OC
We're was the fire call
I wonder if Oyster Bay has good Bay Oysters? 🤷♂️
No trucks went out?
out of district alarm
Considering the video was about the siren (read the title), I don't know why you were expecting a response

I think it’s to notify the volunteer firefighters that are not at the station to come to the fire station

These things have been going off 2-3 times after midnight. It’s so annoying!

This isn't about fire trucks. Should've read the video title word by word and knew that this video is about a siren.
If you can't hold the camera steady get a tripod ....it's fucking annoying!
