One minor correction. It's not just free to play. It's just straight up free period. There's no micro-transactions or anything.
Exactly, you unlock stages and outfit colors by playing the game and beating stages, not by paying for a DLC or something.

Essentially this is fan made game. So to follow the fan made content rules of the IP holders the game has to be "not monetized" unless something is negotiated with Cover (the IP holders). Most people just go free game no profits.

Neat part about ERROR Sora is that you can play as her after buying her in the in-game store and inputting a certain outfit order in the player select screen. Kinda like finding hidden character in games back in the day.
Yes. And no real money is involved, you purchase her with in game tokens that you get from playing the game. No microtransactions or anything.

I don't think he was playing on that update when he recorded the video incidentally since Ina (who was in that update) is missing.
Fun fact: The "Next Fes" update was when the game became part of the HoloIndie program, which meant the game is essentially published by COVER (the company behind Hololive). It also meant it has additional benefits such as:
-Advertising and marketing (The Next Fes trailer was first shown at Hololive Super EXPO, the biggest, yearly OFFICIAL Hololive event)
-Ability to monetize the game (Most of the fangame makers prefer to have it free but the first HoloIndie gamw, HoloParade, is paid)
-Being able to have the actual talents contribute to the game (This game used to have just voice clips from actual streams, and some were rerecorded by the talents themselves on a stream. However, the new stuff in Next Fes was directly voiced off-screen.)

The game got a HUGE update on May 5th so you might wanna make another video on this game.
The best part of Idol Shiwdown is Virtual Frontier. Good rogue-like mode is rare for fighting games
First... it was Maximilian Dood, a well known youtuber (THAT WE'RE HAVING A HARD TIME CONVERTING! The mental fortitude is powerful with him to resist) and now Justin a legend among the FGC, hehehe... HAHAHAHAHAAAA!! The FGC is slowly becoming apart of our virtual culture as even the most professional of its ranks shall fall in the rabbit hole. May you enjoy the game Justin and may the blessings of vtubers keep you close.
Now if i had to suggest someone you may enjoy, look up Machina X Flayon. The guy is a bit variety but his core focus is fighting games.

Aki is a character that is very hard to master, but when you master her you realize she's kind of OP. Most of the top experienced players of Idol Showdown are Aki mains. An official tournament ended a couple of months ago, and the first 2 places were Aki mains. So yeah, hard to master, but hard to beat.

LOL. Yup, they pull out a SFA3 when you change character, your Arcade Mode progress is lost and have to start over, I think is the same on Killer Instinct (Xbox/PC by the way, not the other 2 classic games).
