    Lisa, I love this page and watching your process! I have GOT to use my gelli plate one of these days. You just make it look so easy.

      +64naby Thanks! The gelli plate is very addictive, but fortunately uses a lot of stuff you probably already have on hand.

    Great page, I like that you used the gelli plate directly onto the journal page. I have been wanting to try that, but have been afraid to try it. Now I will give it a try. Thanks.

    Love this idea. Was wondering if anyone tried it directly into a book. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the idea.

    Just fyi: the Distress paint is Picked Raspberry not “Pickled,” which would taste awful, don’t you think? The stencil pattern isn’t an arabesque design, unless it’s misnamed, which it could definitely be. It’s sometimes called Morrocan Tile (but maybe they named it Arabesque because they can’t spell Moroccan either lol.) The pattern is sometimes called quatrefoil, too.

    Nice video, but I smiled with ‘pickled’ (= picked) raspberry. Thanks!

    once you create your Gelli print art journal page....what do you do with it then? what do you include in your journal?

    what are the drawing tools you used, like the different color markers and the black pens, what are they? and was that acrylic or water color you used?

    • @LisaEDesign
      @LisaEDesign  Před 8 lety

      +sowsplace All the paint for this page is acrylic. Most markers are Faber Castell. I used the Pitt Big Brush markers and their finer point markers in black sizes F and M. I don't remember what color of the larger markers I used for this page. I did use on Stampin' Up! marker, probably Not Quite Navy but again I don't remember after all this time. I did use a white pen - Touch marker - from Hobby Lobby for outlining letters. I just grabbed colors of markers that matched the page.

    Like the look of these pages. Can you possibly link to the stencils?

      Thank you. Some of these stencils were cut on my Silhouette from images from the Silhouette store. At least two others were from Hobby Lobby. This is one I love www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Stencils-Craft-Paints/Stenciling/Swirl-Bonanza-Stencil/p/155452 . I could not find the other one online but they may have it in the store. It is the arabasque looking design and came with several different sizes in one purchase.

    Were your pages gesso'd before you did the gelli plate?

    • @LisaEDesign
      @LisaEDesign  Před 8 lety +1

      +Robin Donnelly No, they weren't. I almost never put down gesso first in my art journal.

    • @robindonnelly
      @robindonnelly Před 8 lety +1

      Oh, that's interesting. I've used gesso on every one of my art journal pages and sometimes it makes for a really difficult spread of paint. I asked someone else if I should use gesso all the time on every page and they didn't answer me. So... I guess I don't have to, right?

    • @LisaEDesign
      @LisaEDesign  Před 8 lety +1

      +Robin Donnelly I know many art journalers gesso their pages. I tried it early one and could not tell much difference. Actually I prefer not to gesso if I'm using watercolor or mist because I want them to stick to the fiber of the paper. So I just skip that step. I do gesso some surfaces like wood for other art projects.

      O.k. thanks so much for the feedback. Sounds good, I'll try not gesso'ing for certain things and see how that works.

    Why are some gelli pads/plates clear and others black

    • @LisaEDesign

      The only gelli plates I have seen or used are from Gelli Arts and they are all clear.
