My recommendation would be putting a toggle limit switch so it turns off and reverses the direction for the next cut. That way your cable never gets twisted up.
Another Idea would be to make the torch mount spring loaded with a bearing that rides on the pipe. Two pros, No adjustment between sizes and and it would then be able to make angled cuts.
Every diameter of tube have to be centered horizontally by hand. No good. Add a self-centered chuck ;-) And a Z-axis drive ;-) And CNC for Z ;-) And... I don't know about more:-( Cool engineering at all your videos!

If you modify the torch mount so it can cut tube at 45 degrees to the axis you will have the weld prep done.
