  • It is definitely sad to see that the motorcycle you own is not getting proper updates in the latest iteration; sadly, that is the case with the KTM 250 Adventure. There has been no changes, other than the paint scheme when compared to the original model and a minor creeping up in prices. Let me be clear that, compared to the previous model, there is no price hike. However, let us look into this matter in an orderly fashion.
    I would like to highlight some of the issues which existed in the previous model, essentially meaning that they could have worked on these in the new model

    Hi.
    U said that crunchy sound came from the front assembly.. is it irritating?
    Also what about suspension.. is it ok for normal ride..
    My riding style is smooth.. what is ur opinion if I am thinking of buying a new one.

      It’s irritating but we’ll get used to it. I wouldn’t call the bike smooth to ride, it can be ridden smoothly, but the engine comes alive and more importantly feels alive when it’s revved. Suspension is definitely hard when you compare it to the Himalayan 450 (I felt it to be smoother at least while I took a test ride) & BMW G310 GS (I personally found that to be extremely bouncy).
      I highly recommend that you go for a test ride to find out if the engine suits you.

      Bro am planning to buy a bike to use for my daily commute and am in Bangalore. On my route the roads are broken and uneven. I will have to ride for say one hour everyday through these broken roads and traffic. I was planning to go with the 250/390 adventure X. I have tested Himalayan and 400x but considering different factors I feel KTM is suitable for me. All these test rides were shorter like say 2 kms max. What will be your comment in this situation.? Please reply

      In the city, if you're riding this bike for long it will heat up for sure. I assume you will be traversing heavy traffic on a daily basis, so that should be on your mind. For broken patches, it will not be an entirely smooth ride to be completely honest, but you can definitely stand up on the pegs (it is definitely smoother than the Duke series, but it definitely is slightly on the stiffer side). Have you tried the Triumph Scram 400X? That would be a good pick as well.
      To sum it up I think that the Adv 250/ 390 series would definitely work for you however be wary of the heating in traffic and since the handlebars are wider, it is not easy to filter through traffic.

    Brother how about a new option scrambler 400x. Will it be a better option than this?

      Hi brother it depends on your use case. I found that the scrambler 400X is miles ahead on off road terrain (where I spent most of my time with it), more easy to manage in city as well. However if highway touring is a big priority of yours, I would highly recommend the 250 Adv & if you like a bit more power and better off road-ability, then check out the Adv 390 X if budget permits. Another option is to look at the Himalayan 450 (please check long term review as the 411 had some issues long term).

    390 adv and 250 adv have the same fuel efficiency?

    • @wheelsontarmac
      @wheelsontarmac  Před 2 měsíci

      That comment is purely based on my interaction with a few fellow riders (4 to 5), they claim that, they are returning similar figures as I am. However, recently someone commented on my highway run video that he's getting considerably lesser fuel economy on the 390X.

      Here's what he said:
      "I own a 390 adv x and I got 32KMPL average fuel consumption on highways. Whereas in the city - Mumbai to be specific, riding in the traffic will result in a 18-22KMPL fuel consumption; which is horrible. I'd suggest a 250 if you want both city and highway riding experience. I myself use my 390x only for highways and touring."
