When Richard decides to take his new girlfriend Holly home to meet his three estranged children, Lucia, Ralph and Anna, they soon discover his ex-wife missing and the children behaving strangely. As their actions become gradually more disturbing, Holly begins to unearth a dark and twisted secret.

Just watching this on BBC2 now. Apart from the fact that it's taking forever to get anywhere, at 1:28 when the girl wrings the swan's neck and gets blood on her face, the film uses an alternate take where she doesn't, and it's not as good. Beyond that, what a load of ballcocks. However, I understood the ending.
Just watched it too. I'm 15 and Don't have much experience in the horror genre and not much to guage it against but I thought the same. Weird Looking children and I got not fucking clue how she didnt launch the kid when he was trying to drown her he was built like a fucking pencil.
@@samjordan7623 This was just a bad film, so don't blame it on you not having seen many horror films.
The kids had zombie-like strength, yet looked like a mild breeze would knock them over. Meanwhile, the Dad was overpowered by them and tied up, and shouted loudly at them - then was just telling Holly, "They're just kids". It's like the script was written by ChatGPT when you ask it a question and it glitches and keeps giving opposing answers.

Mom is dead and now they're going to kill stepmom cuz she knows. They tried to warn her off before it all imploded. We don't know if they killed her if she committed suicide. I'm thinking they didn't want to live with Dad or he probably wouldn't take care of him anyway so they pretended that she was gone and lived on their own.
My thought. I think the new stepmom should have befriended them at the end and tried to say hey I'll help take care of you so they wouldn't kill her. Come up with plan. Tell authorities husband was trying to kill her and stepdaughfer saved her life. Mom, guess you could say she disappeared or killed herself, I don't think they wanted to kill stepmom but were willing to. I think they wanted her to leave before this all happened. Years of abuse really messed up those kids. Sounds like the mother was mentally unstable. Remember the dad ask if they drove her crazy. Father was sadistic, abusive. Heck if it was me soon as they were chasing that goose around to kill I'd have been I'm out of here. I would have walked to leave. Psycho husband's not going to help you. I would not care if it's 20 miles I had to walk to get away. When I got back I would get an annulment

I think you're supposed to come up with your own idea. What do YOU think will happen? It would have been better if there would have been some inkling (now that I think about it more) of what kind of mother their original mother was. I mean, she DID divorce the creepy father, so she had that going for her. Maybe I need to watch it again to see if there is a hint of whether she died of natural causes or was killed. That would help explain what "It's time" means.
Most horror today is cheap, lazy formulas that can only at most manage to shock in between giggles. This was true horror. As soon as she meets the kids, and begins to see his "parenting", ice cold chills run down your spine.
I've figured that when it has mentions of critics giving good comments, the movie is most likely trash

Hollywood does work in very specific obvious ways though and in his defense he said most likely, that doesn't mean he's not going to watch it. Yep. It is not terrible like the commenters here are making it out to be. People can't handle movies with ambiguous endings, or things left to the imagination...because a lot of people lack the ability to think.

Have you seen it?? I didnt understand the ending one of the kids say "its time" time for what. We dont even know what happens to the mom? I mean we see shes dead cause of the flies and what not but we dont know why or how? Stupid movie. Left to much unanswered to the point where its like what the point of the movie and the husband was killed for no reason. Sure he wanted to harm the kids into telling the truth but like idk horrible movie.

This movie is utter trash. I just spent money I earned renting it. Lost 100minutes of your life to some director thinking he made "satire" or knows horror. I never write reviews but I'm legit insulted by how garbage the score, acting, plot, and behaviors I witnessed were. It's impressive

@@VanessaGarcia-kg4wo my only guess is that the kids had deep seated issues of hatred and abandonment towards the father which may have been reinforced by the mother when they separated as when parents split up sometimes they conspire against eachother. I'm guessing that may have happened and maybe the kids killed the mother when she may of acted irrational towards them and the kids got the brunt of her anger and they killed her because she posed a threat.. they may of killed the dad because they were scared of being punished for what they did. It's all ridiculous and totally unrealistic in my opinion but that is what I think the writers were aiming for. I was guessing during the movie that maybe the dad was in on it with the kids or was it him or the kids but this is the best I can come up with from the lack of plot depth that would make sort of sense. In reality I think the children would run away, tell family or police or CPS instead of murdering her and if they loved the dad then they wouldn't of killed him although I did get psycho vibes from the oldest girl when she killed the bird. Could be a factor. Big mess of a movie that could of been a lot better, what do you think?

This is the most wasted time of tv. Too slow too boring. VERY poor casting. One minute the girlfriend grows suspicious of her boyfriend’s kids and next the boyfriend goes ballistic. Then girlfriend ends up stuck in the house herself. Fabulous bravo 👏🏽

We see thats she's dead because of the flies but thats it. We don"t know why or how? Why was the husband killed for no reason sure he wanted to hurt the kids but like why didnt they just tell the truth if they were going to tell the wife the truth in the end? Were the kids going to kill them anyways? It made no sense.

It this suppose to be Horror or Horrible Comedy? Cause I couldn't stop laughing at the horrible acting, horrible story and the awful ending. So this woman visits her boyfriend's home where his ex-wife and 3 children live. The ex-wife is missing, the children try to kill her several times. The bf acts like a psycho killer. Yet it doesn't dawn on her that she's in serious danger and must leave right away. Instead she has dinner with them like nothing's wrong. She's either desperate or dumb as rocks. The ending was in the dark, literally, as we aren't shown if the mom is dead or alive or what happens to the gf. At that point I didn't care anymore.
