  • The tour start at 05:31. This is a small 1-bed apartment tour in Dublin, Ireland that I rent on my own. I moved in this apartment back in 2021 and the rent was even slightly lower at that time! I am very grateful for having my own space and what we call here an "affordable" rent for a 1-bed apartment in Dublin given the current state of the rental market / housing crisis in the country.

    I hope my video will give hope to some people living in Dublin and wanting their own space. I have been living in this city since 2015 (moved from Paris) and spent a fair good amount of time sharing and changing accommodations (in my 20s). Now that I have my own place and that I am in a better situation, I feel more at peace with my experience abroad :)
    I hope you enjoy the video. If you have any questions on renting in Dublin or on cost of living, I am more than happy to do a video on it and share my experience and some tips!
    Don't forget to like the video and subscribe if you want to see more of my videos! Stay blessed and see you later :)

      Hi, Sure I can, but I moved to Dublin in 2015 so the cost of living was not as high as today. Happy to do a video about this specific topic.

    Hi, thank you for the video. You have an amazing apartment! Could you please advise some reliable websites where where we can search for the apartment and what is your suggestion about the timing as we are not in Dublin yet, but want to find the apartment in advance, do you think it is possible or we have to be already in Dublin in order to rent?thank you ❤

    • @itsangeangelina
      @itsangeangelina  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Hi! the main reliable website in Ireland is Daft.ie. There are other sites such as Rent.ie or rental agencies but they all end up advertising their listings in Daft.ie. With regards to the timing, I would advise to come in Dublin 1-2 months in advance of your work start date or college start date, book temporary airbnb accommodations / hostels... and search as soon as you arrive. I do not recommend searching from abroad because of scammers and agencies who can take advantage of you not being in the country to ask for huge deposits to secure the place.

    Hi
    Is the rent inclusive of gas, electricity and water?

    • @itsangeangelina
      @itsangeangelina  Před měsícem +1

      Hi! no, it's only the rent for the apartment which came fully furnished. Usually rent in Ireland does not cover other bills unless it is specified by your landlord. All rentals here are semi or fully furnished but you can ask the landlord to change the furniture if you wish (at your own cost I think).

      Hi there :) a 2-bed in Dublin on average is around 1,900 - 2,500 euros a month (it is crazy money) you can also find a 2-bed for just about 1,800 If lucky. Rent here is out of control but you can find ''cheaper'' if you rent in one of the commuter towns just around Dublin. If you drive/have a car it can be worth living slightly outside Dublin.

      a 2 bed apartment in Dublin City center, no less than 2K if is in decent shape and not falling apart, bills not included. I lived there for 16 years and had to leave or most of my wages would go for a place which in most of the cases are shitholes rented by greedy bastards. AVOID!

    Je ne crois pas que ce soit plus cher qu'un placard au centre à Paris? ....en tout cas ça ne coûte pas trois fois rien à Dublin non plus

    • @itsangeangelina
      @itsangeangelina  Před měsícem +1

      Oui en effet je suis d'accord, à Paris il y a vraiment de petits appartements et des loyers vraiment élevés. Paris reste quand même une ville plus grande et dynamique et il y a toujours l'option de vivre en IDF et prendre les transports. Ici le problème c'est que tout est à Dublin et le réseau de transports est pas assez developpé ce qui empêche les jeunes actifs de s'eloigner du centre.

    I've lived in Dublin for 16 years and I can tell you 100% that if you rent this apartment for that price a month, you have something going on the side or the place is not really Dublin, not City center anyway, It can be Lucan, or even further, Blanch, I don't know but if you have this in City center tehre is something going on for sure, otherwise is a pile of BS

    • @itsangeangelina
      @itsangeangelina  Před měsícem +1

      Yes it very expensive in general and it is getting worse every year. I have nothing on the side apart my 9-5 job. I just became very good at managing my money since lockdown/pandemic and I am on a pretty much great salary today compared to when I moved in (I work as a project manager). I wish rent would be lower but it is what it is right now. I do not live in the city centre but my commute is great still in county dublin :)

      @@frankierodriguez8661 thanks but I did not take it the wrong way. It is very upsetting for a lot of people including me. I wish I could just pump the breaks with work but I do long hours and go for promotions/ask for pay increases every year. It is just very tiring altogether to over perform to maintain a certain decent standard of living. It sure pushes me but ideally everybody should be able to afford an affordable place regardless of their career choices :)
