- A quick update on 2 of my past videos regarding The Pathless, ABZU and Journey. First we have a really cool easter egg in ABZU that connects Journey and ABZU together, then we have confirmation we actually saw they 5th Tall Ones corrupted form!

My question is why no one talks about the the fish representing Abzu's four wells and the Ammonite spirit? It's so confusing!
In Abzu the spirit of an ammonite (an extinct species of shelled early cephalopod) can be seen above the center well of the spirit world upon collecting all the shells. It is also depicted in hieroglyphs around the ruined city and in other ruins.
My first thought upon completing The Pathless for the first time was that Bassilla's people moved to the sea with their tall one and slowly changed how they perceived the other tall ones, representing them with oceanic animals. This is what caused the plateus to erase Bassilla and their people. They thought that they were defacing the other tall ones.
I thought with this personal theory that the Eagle Mother was a changed to an ammonite because it is always depicted above the other gods or tall ones. Then I got behind the door and saw Ammonite Spirit behind the door with Bassilla. That means it isn't a different perception of the Eagle Mother, it is it's own separate spirit that we are NEVER GIVEN ANY INFORMATION ABOUT AND ITS SO COOL!
This is more of a personal ramble than a comment but I really do want to know your thoughts and how this could play into the different connections of the games.

Thanks for the comment that's a really interesting thought. I had never made that connection about the ammonite and the eagle mother but do believe something like them moving away and forgetting the other gods is definitely possible. It seems like they were so involved in their peoples lives if the gods were no longer present it makes sense to leave them out.
Yeah I wonder about the ammonite spirit as well. Is it another God.?is it just a spirit of an extinct species? I really hope their next game continues the world and maybe we can piece more together
Bear in mind, the lizard spirit's corrupted form looked like a giraffe so the 5th tall one could've been anything.

I think Nimue is associated with water on or above land, like rivers and rainfall while Basila is associated with deep ocean. Basila being the only one without followers where the Pathless takes place makes some sense, man can’t breathe underwater. Eventually she came across the civilization that is depicted in Abzu and she found her followers.

@@UnbrokenOdds when I think about it now, is it not possible one of the Eagle Mother’s eggs fell from her nest? As far as we know the first island is her nest. If it fell, it would be in the ocean.
Yes that definitely could have happened, they really didn't give us much lore about basilla so pretty much anything could be possible!
Why Basilla doesn't have a hole in her chest like her mother or siblings is another mystery. Maybe due to the fact that she is constantly surrounded by the blue life giving energy, her "hole" is always filled. The civilization in abzu depected Basila both in her spirit form and her reincarnated form in their art, first as a spirit, then as a normal great white. So here is what I think: Basilla's original form dyed really young without her mother close. She became a spirit soon after. The underwater civilization made her their god. Overtime she learned to reincarnate herself to blend in among her underwater friends. When she dies in Abzu she returns to her spirit form for the rest of the game.
That's a good theory but in the pathless I believe the gods could change their forms so basilla might have been able to as well. And one might be the real form and the other kind of spirit form
