The Aqua Line of the Mumbai Metro also known as Line 3 is a part of the metro system under construction in Mumbai, India. When completed, the 33.5-km long line will be the first underground metro line in Mumbai.

For everyone who is concerned about rains and flooding let me give a small explanation about how underground tunnels for Metro are guarded against flooding. First of all, during the design and survey phase, historic flood levels for past 100 years are mapped and all entry/exits for the stations and the ventilation shafts for the tunnels are designed to above the highest flood water level.
The second contingency is built into the tunnel system itself. The concrete rings which give structural support to the tunnel also prevent water entry from surrounding soil and rock. Any water ingress that does happen into the tunnels is directed into sumps under the tunnels where it is periodically pumped out again.
This system is in use for all underground metro systems around the world. Even though Mumbai faces bigger problems with flooding, the system is designed to withstand and protect against this.

I just want to say one thing to the people who are thinking the delay is due to being democratic but we must know we should push the one who's doing good. so that he can hear mostly i' yee instead of No's at where it matters.

Plz do a video on delhi metro.. DMRC..Around 400 kms of metro lines including national capital region..Have travelled in a few of the big metro lines in the world but only a handful of them can actually compare the efficiency n modernization of delhi metro.

Devendra Fadnavis really pushed this project and was hoping to complete it till 2019 but unfortunate loss of Government and Environmental concerns had halted it. This project should had been done way before with Delhi metro and other metro projects. Atleast Delhi has metro whose resolution was passed by Atal ji's BJP Government. This MahaBhankas Aghadi by Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP had halted many projects which includes Hyperloop project and also now they will not sponsor Bullet train project.

Government awards large contracts thru open and fair global bidding.
If government ignores best bid or favors any company, they would be subjected to cag audit and Supreme Court intervention.
Id ally, Government should allow open bidding and Indian companies need to work on costing and time efficiency.
I personally want Govt to build such metro systems in nearly 50 cities to meet future transportation need.

Very Good,about time though it should have been done since ages, underground transportation are fastest safest and best of all commutes, how come these boring methods are not used for updating drains which flood every monsoons bringing life to halt and destruction? Anyway updating of any city Nation bring not only work to population it brings progress also. Same way slums can be rehabililated.
