    Well those 41 minutes flew by.
    Like your way of explaning Aris, the honey vs water compared to stiff vs slow dampening.
    Simple yet very clear.

    Thanks for taking the time to explain car set up in ACC! I really enjoyed AC and recently have been putting more time into ACC! A great product and its great to have devs interact and help the community!

    Thanks so much Aris! As an engineer myself I've been trying to tweak the dampers using motec for ages but never had the expected result, but finally after watching this video I managed to get the right result from my changes! Thank you so much, very satisfying and enhancing my sim experience! :D

    Thank you and respect, I wasn't figured out this game is such a hardcore game with so many complicate data. Your explanations for those graphs and data are fascinating, I was really confused about the work methods of dampers and suspensions, their relationships require very solid physics theories, I am poor at physics and you did make it simple to me. And I am feeling that I'm like a racing engineering when I find some issues in the graphs and feedback to my drive experience, it's just awesome.

  • @AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH

    That was really useful! Thanks alot.
    It's much more intuitive when someone explains the physical background behind it as well. So by that I mean what actually happens with the actual car.
    Now I can comprehend how the changes affect the cars handling better. Good video mate.

    Hi Aris! Great Video and explanation! ACC is great, congratulations! I m one of the old drivers from the netKar Pro times from the Jaap Wagenvoorts GPOC league. I drove in the Lastplace Racing Team with some nice guys like Juha Pyy, Tjeerd Veenstra, Arthur Kirke Poulsen, Roel de Yong ec. We was a testing Team from a 1.3 v. I have some questions: what and is there a perfect curve of a dampers graph? Say I want to find a perfect adjustments for my Audi EVO. I read somewhere that the amount of the slow movement (grey field) should reach about 12 percent of the graph on all dampers, rear and front. Regards

    Aris any chance to have acc separate session data? IRL on my car I do practice 1 download the data and clear it for next session so I have a fresh new data record for practice 2. In ACC as I progress through a weekend p1 data gets added to the p2 data and qual data on top of that it’s like it’s one big session. GTR2 for example created one MoTeC file for each time you entered and exited the garage or practice or qualifying session. It made organizing the data easier. I hope it’s clear what I’m asking. Keep up the great work and videos. And congratulations to the whole crew on this fantastic sim

    • @ArisDrives
      @ArisDrives  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi there! Since 1.2 I believe, telemetry saves everytime you go back to the setup screen. No need t hit esc and quit from sessions.

    Hi Aris! Do u mind if I could ask a question about Porsche at Spa? It seems that no matter how much adjustments being made to the wheel rate of the car, from what I had imported into Motec, the bars in the middle section (Lo%) for Porsche seems to be extremely high, which is around 43% for front and rear. Is it some kind of characteristics only for Porsche? It went up to nearly 16% and I couldn't really get it down. Do u have any advice for this? Cheers!

    Another great setup study moment !
    I would like to know if I understood this in the right way, especially about weight transfer.
    So if Stiff damping = fast weight transfer and Soft damping = lower weight transfer.
    I am in fine tuning and I would like to reduce understeer in a fast left corner exit :
    Symmetrical solution is :
    -1 click soft rebound Front Left / Right
    -1 click soft compression Rear Left / Right
    Asymmetrical solution :
    -1 click soft rebound Front Right
    -1 click soft compression rear Left
    Am I on the right way to become engineer in motor sport or should I leave it and take care of my house and garden ? ;-)

    I tried manual selection and then calculate from suspension travel but nothing shows up in the histograms. I changed the colours of the travel but it keeps showing the colours of damper speed data which I don't have. thanks for this series!

    A french author (Nicolas Boileau, XVII century) said once "What is well conceived is clearly stated, And the words to say it come easily." Obviously, there's a problem here :-). But thanks for your attempt ! And thanks for your time to explain some physics in ACC in all your streams, really interesting, from a mechanical point of view (even if some basic principles are well known) and to setup your car, because ... you develop the game. Keep going, but less chatty, it seems your setup is 100% italian now, ha ha !
    Idea for a stream of explanations : how to configure "properly" your wheel meaning having a more realistic FFB (drivers properties, ACC FFB settings, using wheelcheck and LUT file if better, and not only for fanatec, but for Thrusmaster and Logitech because there're very common and can be a good entry point to switch from arcade to sim, and buy a better hardware next, if you've got money). Most people says that FFB is personnal, but I think when you drive a real car, you're not setup your wheel force for your personnal preference, you deal with what you have, that's sim ...

    Is there an ideal value in the suspension histogram screen to be reached in the upper and central part of the graph?
    What are the values for which the suspension is considered too braked or not braked or adjusted in the right way apart from the shape of the graph?

    In my damper histograms the central column is always in the Y axis 20 to 30 value, ie it's too high. This is even with paid setups. I have been trying to reduce the central column, the y axis value to closer to 12-15 region. I have increased stiffness of springs and softened springs to extreme values done the same with dampers but no joy.

    • @ArisDrives
      @ArisDrives  Před 2 lety +1

      The height of the columns is not important. You can change the scale and instantly you'll have a different height.
      The histograms are just an indication of the time spent from each damper at a speed. It's a good starting point (and I underline starting point) to make the dampers pretty symmetrical bump to rebound but once you have achieved that, start experiment to make the car handle better for you, no matter what the histograms say.
      Don't drive on the numbers.

  • @massimocoslovich
    @massimocoslovich Před 4 lety +1

    I use the Motec, however, to have the histogram of the suspensions, the idea would be a sampling frequency of 100 Hz and instead it is only at 20HZ.
    How can you change the sampling frequency?
