When a company makes “how to videos “ and others charts for spring tension available to the public, I’m more than willing to patronize this company. Thanks for making this video, I will certainly buy my parts from you.

Just what I needed to know. Thanks so much for posting. My in-laws garage door is operational again.
My garage door spring broke. Ordered the door spring and tension bars on express garage. Got the parts and replaced it today after watching your great video. Couldn't have done it without you. Saved $$$. Thank you much!
I’m doing both my torsion springs Wednesday and saving $500! Overhead Door Company have a nice day!
Thanks for the demonstration. I just used this on the new garage door I retro fitted. 28 Turns was the trick and it works perfectly. Cheers Tony
Thanks for posting this video. I moved into a house where the Garage Door was crooked and all out of kilter. I lined up the drums and followed the video to wind the spring. Worked perfectly!
Thanks for the excellent video. After watching multiple how to vids, this one seemed the most professional and easy to understand. When its time for a any replacement parts you have my business.
Followed the tips on a heavy 7 ft. Martin door. I added one more quarter turn. Perfect! Thank you.
Thanks for such a great video. I ordered my springs and tools from you guys, then watched this video. Springs installed successfully! And I still have all ten fingers. Shipping was very fast, thanks for that.
Really great instructional. I had a 7ft door and had to adjust the torsion spring as well as install the cables. I followed your instructions exactly. Thank you for saving me some $

Thank you for these training videos...I live in Southern California and my local garage door company wanted $295 to come out and do this. Not! Me missing work for their 4 hour window of arrival while I miss a half day of work...that will cost even more than the $295 quote.
Hello. Very informative. I have the same set up as your video.
Do both side have to be equal? Could one side be (31) 1/4 turns and the other be (32) 1/4 turns for alignment?
In my case, when the door gets high enough the (2) steel cables on the end stop turning and become very loose so that when its time to close the door the cables are loose and wind on the steel bar instead of inside the wheel. The loose steel cable is by about 3 good winds loose. If I close the door slightly, I can get the cables on track and everything is good.
I'm trying to figure out if I can adjust each tension spring. Making it tighter. Nothing has been replaced or change in conditions other than this.
Thank you in advance.
Steve-
The 31 recommended quarter turns is just a good starting place for your springs. If your door requires a few more or a few less turns thats fine. The most important thing is to be able to keep the cables on the drums in the up position. Just because one side was adjusted doesn't necessarily mean you have to do the same to there other side but you should try and keep them close to the same. Thank you!

My door lock does not line up with the slot on the rail sinve it is now touching the ground. The door needs to be raised about 2 inches to engage the lock. What are your recommendations to line it up?
Video helpd
Thanks bud

Nice

I knew there had to be some kind of science to this. Of course, the spring also needs to be the correct size - wire diameter, inside diameter, and length from end to end. Otherwise, the torque won't equal the weight of the door at the proper number of turns.
Good
I have a 12 ft door and one of my springs broke.. bought new springs and have it set at 35 turns and it shoots up then stops.. im supposed to have 45 turns. Ive not put it there yet but if i do its gonna shoot up even worse.. any ideas?

Why does the width of the door not count in the calculations of turns?
Because the turns are for how high the door is. Each full turn brings the door up 1 foot with the cables on the side. Usually a tech may add 1 or 2 quarter additional turns to take the slack of the cable when the door is fully up.
