I work for cat also 20 years ago a lot different .
True I work on trucks now more standardized repairs. But nothing cooler then pulling a transmission from a 988 loader. Heavy equipment was way cooler but sometime s a big pain to work on but it had its fun times for sure

I can't understand how did you pop the second (small) clamp so easy. I can't pop mine for 2 days already, it's like welded there. I use the same prybar, use penetrating fluid - nothing works. Please give me a hint 😀 how to release it.

What are the problems that can occur from not seating the DPF filter properly? Not sure i got them on properly as i see soot around vents on the heat shield
It won’t be efficient and my get active Differential pressure code down the road.
@@bigrigfix Do you think I will have to get new rings or can i reset the one on. I put then on this week
New gasket clamp and get the Serial numbers off both DPF filters So you can reset soot level in computer Freightliner or detroit dealer can do that 30 mins or 1 hr Labor.

Its called highway robbery , im on the side of the road trying to figure this out before i get ripped off
With diag , fighting rusted or seized hardware and sensors... Replacing the filters , reassembly and running a service regen yes its a day worth of work! But drivers want it done in a hr!!!!

If you have tools you can take it out at the truck stop Uber to a truck wash they can pressure wash it and put it back in, take it to a shops to put it on a jpro and force regen it to clear the code and you’re good to go. Don’t let them fool you and say the filter need to be cooked that’s a lie !! You can pressure wash the soot out.
Clips and bolts? How about self tappers 😂 just don’t screw through the filter
