Still haven’t subscribed to The New Yorker on CZcams ►►

"Finding humor, drawing humor, there's nothing better...If you can come along with the right cartoon and quiet everything down by showing how silly it is then you've accomplished something"

Deep wisdom showing up as a "cartoon".
Plant your seeds - something will grow. I am writing this on my wall!! What a lovely human being. 🌹
I love how he looks like he’s drawn himself
yes, so true!
He is a legend. And as a subscriber to the New Yorker for over thirty five years I have grown up with his cartoons and adore his drawings.
I love him. Oh BTW he's my grandpa!! Love you pawpaw! Xoxo
Finding this was about the best present that was ever given to me!🎁To think that I’ve been a The New Yorker subscriber and a George Booth lover for over 40 years and never even knew what he looked like or what his voice sounded like is now a total mystery to me. What a splendidly sweet little documentary this is and how I’ll treasure watching it again and again - not to mention sharing it with friends and family. Thank you‼️❤️
Thank you Danielle!
George Booth came to visit my art class back in the early 1980’s. He shared his process. It was such an amazing experience to have a peek into an artists mind. He was so kind and generous with his time.
I envy you.
It’s not just the jokes, which are sublime, it’s the details in the drawings. I could look at them for hours.
His perspective on the human condition is a kind of bumping into myself, saying "excuse me", and meaning it.
His... his power of life inside his soul.... it's just incredible.
I... I cried. This is so strong. This man.
Thank you. Thank all of you for this film.

There are no words to express how much joy it brings me to know that George Booth is still around. And I expect he feels the same way.
Rest in Peace George. You certainly made me smile.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story of a man who gives the world the humor it needs!
and now I'm just here, smiling while cutting onions :)
This is such a wonderful documentary! Love the pacing and all of the great animated designs!

Just realized that George Booth is no longer with us. We've lost a treasure. Rest in peace.
That was wonderful. His cartoons are wonderful. This even inspired me to write a poem, so I had to pause it for a bit.
This gives so much comfort. Makes me wanna keep going.
This was beautiful. Thank you so much for the inspiration George!
Just beautiful. Thank you George! 💌💌💌💌
A beautiful portrait of a beautiful soul. Adieu et merci, George Booth. We will miss you 😔 ❤️
Fun fact: George Booth was born on June 28, 1926, in Cainsville, Missouri.
On the same day, another baby boy was born over in Brooklyn, New York. The latter baby was named Melvin James Kaminsky. These days, he goes by Mel Brooks.
Best trivia ever!
I just found out that Mr. Booth passed away. I’m so sad that Mr. Booth and Mr. Brooks didn’t get to do a collab of any sort.
What a treasure he is and always will be to New Yorkers and the world
I need to get back to doodling. Love that retro American style. What an inspiring artist.

George is a wonderful individual- we should all learn to be so proud of yourself inside and out… creating and evolving everyday of life…. Always makes us feel alive…
loved this piece
LOVE YOU, George! ♥️♥️♥️
I LOVE IT, LOVE, AND ADORE HIS.CARTOON PUBLICATIONS!!! 💖💖💖💖
Booth is magnificent. A master at using words and facial expressions to turbo-charge his cartoons. I'm surprised the documentary didn't mention his greatest cartoon, the one with the caption, "Whistle you dumb b*****d!" If you don't know it, do yourself a favour and look it up.
A classic!
That's the one I think of first when I think of him!
Love this! Wonderful George Booth!
Lovely, just lovely.
I loved this. Thank you.
A fantastic film, thank you
"National Treasure" - overused, but here it applies! Great tale!
Some of my favorite cartoons are made by George, have them cut out & ensconced in & around the house. love.
What a great little film about a true master. When you’re the king of the New Yorker cartoon world, that’s saying something. George Booth can put a caption that makes no sense on a completely berserk drawing, and you’ll be rolling on the floor - all the while unable to explain why the funniest thing you’ve ever seen is funny. Looking at a Booth cartoon is like many of the best things in your life: you just have to be there.
He’s the best!
I loved watching that!
Thanks for this, love this man! ❤️
Soo So Beautiful. A Life well Lived! & Art that makes you THINk. It takes true guts to take the road less traveled but we are better off for it❤️

I love you so much sir❤❤❤❤
I’ve been drawing cartoons since I was very young, my daddy taught me to draw Fred Flintstone and Mickey Mouse and soon I was better than he was. The only art for me was creative art. Since retirement I’ve drawn political cartoons on the internet sites. This was a moving documentary, thanks.
I wonder if The New Yorker would be open to cartoonists sending him birthday cards?
Thank you the hardest thing of getting old is getting old 🤪
I love him!
I have a white dog who will occasionally spazz out for no reason- we call him a Booth dog. : )

seriously there is a way to document a human being in advanced years that leaves them the dignity of their life in tact. And the kind that paints them as a frail fragile thing. This video does the latter. Get them documented on one of their "good days" where they are in a good mood and very clearly communicative. Otherwise you are just tearing them down before their time.
I'm not cryin" ya'll...na. the sun's in my eyes.
if you wished to find a gaggle of old me ... weelll here you are
Aww🙂🙃🙂
And now he is gone 😢

I get the Sunday NY Times......every Sunday......and write notes on them, phone numbers, and now I have them under my bed because I always say I'll transfer the stuff, and I don't. I hope I stop that. However, Erin was moving across the street, so I gave them to her.........
