This was the third solo single she released, that will be on the album Paragon, coming next month. The first was Fire, a song she wrote herself about emerging from the pandemic, followed by Storm, then this, followed by Invincible. She is dropping a fifth single, Daydream, in about 36 hours, this Friday. All are on the ‘pop’ side compared to previous work. Keep exploring Floor and Nightwish Babyduck!

Floor has released 4 solo songs so far 1. Fire, 2. Storm, 3. Me Without You, 4. Invincible, and the 5th coming out fri 24th its called Daydream . then on March 24th the whole album will be released
She is great. This definitely is a different direction. I will say this that anything she does sounds way better live. She's wonderful that way. Can't wait for her live videos of her solos.
There are live versions already, but they're appearances on tv or radio shows, with a really small audience.
She did a few in the Netherlands and she did Storm on Sing meinen song.

This is a fantastic song, I absolutely agree. And I really love this new direction, as it shows just how versatile, well rounded and multi-dimensional an artist she is. I do love that she's having such a blossoming of her career; she gets to rock out to Nightwish, then become a classy chanteuse in her solo work. And we get to enjoy every bit of it 🙂. And we're truly enjoying your enjoyment of it as well, which is an added bonus in itself 🦊😸 (Note my addition of the Fox God, along with a cat because... I love cats!)

Floor releases something more mainstream and yet the the majority of the worlds music and radio industry continue to ignore one of if not the greatest talents around.
What a song, what an artist, what a woman, what.. EVERYTHING!! Jesus, her quality is "out of this world". Words are not enough.

I just found out that she did an album in 2018 with the guitarist from a band called Pagan's Mind. It's really hard rock. It was released under the name "Northward"...
She really just doesn't disappoint.
The tradition continued with some people saying she was leaving Nightwish with this song as a hidden message. And the existence of her upcoming solo album in general must mean she has left the band. There are always some who say its over for Nightwish after every little thing happens. So let me state the obvious in case it pops up here, Nightwish is not the you she is without. If you become a Nightwish fan for many years you will encounter all the different traditions eventually. I am partially just having a laugh here but also it's true.

It must be said that Floor has made covers of songs from other musical genres since she was in her first band, After Forever (Alone by Heart, Bad Romance by Lady Gaga), but now it's about a musical direction followed with consistency.

Floor really can do no wrong. Although Nightwish is a bit of a stretch for them, I got both my daughter and my niece hooked on Floor with this song. The Enchantress strikes again!! I think I enjoy your reactions because I recognize my own when I watch you. The joy of discovering this music is palpable, and I can empathise with what you are feeling. Thanks, as always, Debbie. :)

As you are a Newby reacting to Nightwish I am a Newby watching your reactions and it is always a blast!! Not only seeing you enjoying the music but also find out what the song means! That is wonderful to see. There are a lot of fake reactors out there. I watch them for about one tenth of a second and then skip! There is only a handful of reactors I watch and you are defenitly one of them!!
Floor is an adorable down to earth person, an empathy just like you and she is high sensitive!
You should watch a sort of documentary about her to get to know her even better. It's a school reunion with her former classmates and shows her musical journey. Her parents are in it too. I would love to sent you a link to that but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computers but hey I'm 65! 😂

Also you mentioned loving Queen and harmonizing. I suggest you watch three sisters called O3gen pronounced O Jean they will blow you away with them covering Bohemian Rhapsody!! They even got compliments for it from Queen themselves!! They sound like the Andrew sisters back in the day.

Floor is a genre all by herself
She has a solo album coming out in March, a new one "Daydream" comes out Friday. You should also check out "Fire" and "Storm" already released from her upcoming album. Her solo album is purposefully not metal or like Nightwish, because she just wanted to do some other things on the side. She still loves her metal and Nightwish with no plans to leave.

She’s got the next single coming this Friday, I really hope you’ll listen to it for us to also enjoy. So far I have LOVED her solo stuff. I like watching the Nightwish reactions, but don’t think I’ll ever attend a show because it’s too heavy for me personally, as I am more into singer-songwriters. But her solo work, all of it, super impressive. Going to see her in April and December for her solo tour. Because I have to see her live and don’t think once is enough.

This one always makes me think of a mix between R&B and Pop. I still love it.
One thing.....Huge "James Bond" vibe in this song (instrumentally).

Something about this live version that was posted just slightly before the official video dropped, and that Floor actually commented under, hits me a bit different. She sang it with a bit more soul to it and it's great, even as a phone recording. Crystal clear.

That was the first version of this song to hit youtube and was overshadowed by the official video and other performances of it, but somehow it remains my favorite version. Her non-verbal vocal runs sound better to me in the forefront rather than put in the back like the official, and when she goes back to the lyrics, she hits it with a more soulful grit. And I just liked the atmosphere more. Smoke machine, with her outfit and the instruments, made it feel like a bluesy jazz club or something.
Spread the word across the US. Let's get her trending up on the US charts!

Floor is great indeed. But there are other great singers out there as well. You've already discovered Simone Simons (Epica), but you should also give Sharon Den Adel, Charlotte Wessels, Marcela Bovio, Lori Lewis, Cristina Scabbia, Dianne Van Giersbergen, Anneke Van Giersbergen (one of Floor's influences, not related to Dianne), Ambre Vourvahis, Liv Kristine, Clémentine Delauney, Päivi Virkkunen (aka Capri), Sabine Edelsbacher, Alissa White-Gluz, Courtney LaPlante and Doro Pesch (the godmother of female metal vocalists) a listen. I know that list is a bit long, but all of these ladies are great (and I'm pretty sure I missed a whole bunch of others too). Cheers!

she started the covers during the corona Lockdown and measures to prevent all concerts from happening and she also had to sing to keep training her voice.

because her daughter kept watching the movie over and over and she kept hearing the song
and she actually sang it a bit to her daughter like "mom can do this with this song" .
she did a fantastic job and Disney really missed out on not asking her to do it .

Floor can do any Genre she sets her mind to. I like the happy look at me my life's so much better bit near the end. When this song first came out i thought please God no she hasn't left Hannes has she?. He's such a nice guy and father to there child?. But no thank goodness. If it was anyone this song was about it would be Sander Gommans who left her for Amanda Sommerville who was her vocal couch and according to allegations floating around the internet he slept with Amanda while Floor and Sander was in a relationship that really really Broke Floor's heart.
Or it's just another generic pop song about the most generic pop topic. I'm not even sure if the lyrics were written by her. The main driving force behind this project is not Floor, it's Gordon Groothedde.

Still could of been a song made before she dated Hannes?. If you think of the amount of fans that wanted Floor some do to this day seemed appropriete enough lol. A bit of a go getta raunchy song.
Bit of a strange one this.
First off, I love it. That's because I relate to the story and it is delivered impeccably and with emotion that only Floor could bring. And I say that because the songwriting isn't up to the usual standards you expect from Floor with Nightwish. But after all, Tuomas didn't write it so of course that's the case.
Nevertheless I do love the song.
Not sure if you’ve heard of Beth Hart? She’s an American singer, who I think is the best female vocalist with Floor Janson! Their are totally different but outstanding. Try ‘ Caught out in the rain live with Joe Bonamasa! Will give the same feeling as Floor 🏴

If you are going to do something solo, you probably shouldn't just do the same thing. If that was the case, she should just keep singing with Nightwish. Might as well try other genres. Expand on what you normally do.
That's just my opinion of course.
She has 3 other solo's already out, which are all a part of her album which will be released in a couple of weeks!

She have said that doing metal as a solo artist is kind of pointless since she's been doing that for over 20 years and is in one of the biggest band in the genre. She also said that pop doesn't mean that she will do any Britney Spears kind of thing where alot of the focus is on other things than the music. No disrespect to Britney.
