been riding big bear bike parks for the last 2 months and man she has been amazing. im dusting foos with my closeout bike lol
Just bought one!! Can’t go wrong with a GT. GOOD TIMES!
GT and making some really good looking bikes these days
Oopsie. Just a tad out of order. But I’m excited for the rest of whatever field test this is.
It's a great looking trail bike. Skills with Phill is throwing this thing around on some gnarly bike parks lately
Haha!! I was wondering if I missed a video or two!! Looks like it's uploaded early 😂😂
These guys are really starting to gel as a panel. I miss the other Mike but these presenters are all so great. Henry is always charming and funny. Dario has great input and (like me) obviously cuts his own hair, Kaz seems like a smart, reserved accountant who can ride 40 mph downhill.
I think it's a cultural thing with PB. Henry is much more Henry now that he is on PB and not GMBN. As a whole though, I love their balance between authenticity, fun, and professionalism.
someone uploaded early...
Yup.
FYI - Jenson has this bike for sale at under $2000.00 right now.........
Wow... This may be the perfect field test cast with the perfect bike selection this year... And in the perfect test location. Don't mind this going forward. No need for field trips or whatever.
Thank you for the video, made the decision easier
Where. Is. Levy.
I think GT really put the money in this bike where it counts. The frame and the suspension. Everything else can be swapped out after a year or two of riding it hard to higher end components and such.
Also, I find it weird that this new sensor rides "high in the travel" because I have a 2019 Sensor and that bike is super plush and an absolute dog to pedal with the same 130mm of travel that the new bike has. I ride more XC->trail stuff and never really go in to too gnarly of terrain where I live so I might give the new one a go!
I'm really in no hurry on my 2019! It's more of a jack russel terrier than a mastiff
The guy with the glasses and mustache says “like” in almost every sentence.
I wonder how that bike's geometry would feel with a 27.5 on the back. Still with the bike as it is, it is probably fast and efficient in comparison too the other bikes. Maybe a little stiff, but also efficient. On the downhills it would suffer a bit, but with the right line it should be fine. The review makes it sound like you can't just blast through the rough stuff as much. Most newer bikes are focused towards enduro type of geometry, but that bike seems like it fits its focus, a good trail bike.
Hey Johnny! Can you do a video about the rest of the US “colonies” or islands? Thanks for your work, I love it
Love the pinkbike field tests! Glad to see reviews are back. Doesn’t seem like these guys liked the GT very much, “It’s not the worst option” isn’t exactly an endorsement. Also, what happened to Levy? Is he gone?
We need both Mikes
Levy is out at PB to their detriment IMO.
I bought this bike, it’s great. The brakes suck, and the drivetrain isn’t the greatest but I must say the suspension on this bike is solid.
Wish GT got a bit braver on their frame color decisions......That said, been on a 2019 Sensor Comp (the weird sand beige green color alum version), and I've essentially replaced EVERYTHING over the years (Rock Shox Revelation 140 w/ torque caps, Rock shox Super Deluxe rear shock, SLX drivetrain, Saint Brakes front and rear, Stock Cranks (175mm and heavily scarred on the ends) w/ new Race Face outboard BSA BB, Spank vibrocore bar/stem combo, ergon grips & saddle, PNW Loam Dropper, and Hunt's EnduroWide wheelset with 2.5 assegai (f)/ 2.3 DHR2 (r), and about 1" of spacers under the stem (GT's have notoriously low stacks). I'd chuck this bike down anything now. I basically bought this bike as a demo/rental for $1500 back in 2019, and it's really transformed how I ride a mountain bike. I've ridden the newer Marzocchi (fox) forks, and don't like them very much, and I'm not a fan of fox shox either - I believe the stock suspension on this bike is really skewing the perception of this bike. Unfortunate, because the basic frame is really a good canvas to make it your own. Lastly, I will say that the pre 2023 aluminum frames were much nicer to look as they had complicated hydroforming and welding....(perhaps GT concentrated on simplifying construction for 23?) If it were me, I'd look to get the higher spec Sensor, and skip the entry level version, if you can. But if you can't, you can turn this goose into a swan.
No article on the website?
Does anyone know what's happened to Mike Levy? Noticed he's not on any videos or the podcast
He no longer works for pink bike
All I saw in this gorgeous 4k video was how corroded and beat that chain looked
Wait are you sure that the bearings on internal BB's don't last as long? 6:03 In my experience newer external bottom brackets wear out much faster
I also thought that internal bbs on my specialized pitch lastet 10 years without any single creaking and servicing....
I only got about 500 miles/800kms out of the sx/truvativ spline on my 2020 GT Sensor.
External last longer because it’s a bigger bearing, therefore less wear. This is assuming same BB, can’t compare a Chris king internal to an Amazon external BB.
To clarify I think my take is that old Shimano square taper type stuff = good, new weird truvativ = bad
@@herringtoncolin I don’t know man, I rounded off like 3 square taper BBs riding in the early 2000s. Ever since I’ve been using splined BBs I’ve never had a failure. I do like threaded BBs vs press fit, maybe that’s what you’re thinking of
Where is the intro video telling us about the bikes, location, ect? Did I miss it?
Is this a good bike? Trek top fuel 8 or this?
Levi was such a big part of this channel I cant believe how he has essentially disappeared without even a mention in recent videos. Would be nice for him to have a proper send off.
He’s on vacation, he’ll be back.
@@CouldeverLevy no longer works for Pinkbike
Supermarket trail bike test coming in 2023?
Seems like a solid second option for those considering the Norco Fluid
The guy on the right seems to live much more in the real world
Wished GT vamp the Helion
Was this meant to be uploaded yet?
I really don’t think so, not exactly the way they usually do field tests lol
It means someone screwed up.🤭
Budget trail bike field test?
A happy accident for us viewers.
I hope Alicia is recovering well.
Dario's vocal fry bro, 😵💫get it out mate
Wheres Levy?
Long gone, google it
Still think my yt izzo is lightyears ahead of the game.
Why that bottom bracket, WHY? that is a deal breaker for any recommendation for people getting into the sport.
It's typical for low end. They work fine but need replacement often, especially if ridden frequently. Actually has a warming that it's not for heavy riding. Perhaps this one has been improved?
Where is Levy?
What is Levy?
@@liambathard2094Wann ist Levy?
Where is Mike Levi?
Levy if you're there like this comment
Where’s the intro to field test bikes? 🤔
great bike but wtf did they do to the logo!
just for their anniversary...they're going back to the regular logo soon.
Exactly! The old one looked much better!
Not the most positive review. 😢 I have the 2022 GT Sensor carbon Elite. I am satisfied with the bike and the spec. It is easier to upgrade the NX drivetrain and TRP brakes as time goes by than geo or suspension. I was leaning towards the Vitus but it was hard to get here in Sweden last year.
I've got the 2019 Alum comp version, and it's awesome now (I've pretty much replaced everything but the cranks, with upgraded parts as they wear out).
Had those Tectro on a Polygon. Absolute rubbish.
Muh-rin
too bad they put that horrid XC shock on the bike.
The gt sucks???? Woooow who would have guessed hahaha
Dario started the bad habit of voice fry... please stop that before you can't!
GT went rather cheap on this one. Not very attractive.
Yeah but it's ugly.
The pre 2023 version was much nicer to look at....
