Found it at Costco this week for $15 and decided to give it a shot. Other than Meiomi, this has got to be my worst experience in wine!! Sweet nail polish etc etc etc …..dumped the whole bottle. Should’ve gone for the $9 Kirkland Rioja, which is at least OK and very drinkable!

really enjoy your reviews, how you dissect the wines, your analysis and your perspective, especially on how wines are manipulated.

‘Picnic Pinot’! Great term for what’s in the bottle. Never heard that used before but I’m adding it to my vocabulary now.

Love these wine reviews. Refreshing to not have to listen to some snotty deluded expert. He knows what he's talking about, and I personally like the history and marketing perspectives.

I thought the Meiomi Pinot was awful. I will pass on bread and butter as well. Thanks

Louis Jadot Bourgogne Pinot Noir at around $18 might be a good entry point. Not a spectacular example, but a good representation at the price point. It’s well made, readily available, and without the heavy handed manipulation of Meiomi. I buy it at Costco for example. I bought a few bottles of Meiomi early on, but can’t bring myself to drink it again. Haven’t tried the B&B, and won’t if it has to be my money buying it. I just assumed from the name it was the same lab wine as Meiomi. I had no idea it was popular.

As a burghound I would Hate this wine - but then again I hate all recipe wine making - sad how these marketers define wine for the US market and then poor producers follow that definition to sell wine instead of just being good ass farmers

I clicked on this video hoping to learn about this wine, but he ended up talking a lot about Meiomi, which I could care less about. I wish that he would have stuck more to talking about this wine instead of trying to either educate us about Meiomi, or show us how much he knows. It is clear that people who deal in wine for a living have different tastes in wine than people who have simpler tastes. There is nothing wrong with that. If you get to drink first growth Bordeaux, good for you. Those people who drink expensive wines frequently are not going to like wines that are made for the average wine drinker. So what. If you only want to spend $10 or so for a bottle of wine, and you enjoy it, that is your choice and more power to you. If you like Meiomi, then drink it. If you like this wine, drink it. Obviously, this wine isn't going to appeal to everyone, and the producers of this wine are making something that a portion of the wine drinking population likes. Fine, we all don't have to like it.
