As a set builder I have little interest in paying $400 for 80 cards. I’ll stick to Bowman, Chrome and Platinum Anniversary. More bang for the buck.
But the set is actually decent people. Not a bunch of bulk

Wow! Greats pulls! That Michael Harris is on eBay right now with 3 days left and already at $301. Probably a $500-$700 card ungraded. No Adley comp yet. But $400 for a box seems high, but the value is there
Product is too new to get an accurate read on value. Singles sell for crazy high prices the first week or two after release.
@@snerdterguson well value changes daily based on injuries, player performance, price of the box. So the day of my comment when boxes released at $249 or $279 (I got 2 at each) and to get a auto worth $500+ , I would say it’s valuable. Tomorrow every player in the set breaks their leg, then yes it would no longer be valuable. But you have to determine value at some point. My time was the night of this break. It was valuable 😜
@@brendanchapman3038 ok. My point is still true. It is too early to determine actual value of the cards and wether or not it’s worth the cost. You order a box today, when sales are where you say, and in a week when you get the box, prices have cooled, by the time you get to list them or sell them they’ve probably dropped some more. I’m just saying you shouldn’t decide a product is good value until some semblance of an accurate value is known. Of course an injury, if severe enough, or poor play, scandal, etc can drop value. That’s natural deflation of value. As opposed to currently where we have inflated prices based solely on the cards being new. That’s artificial “value”. There’s a pretty accurately divined time limit.
So unless you have the cards in hand to sell within the next week or so, those “values” you gave mean nothing. Because you won’t actually get that return in all likelihood.
@@brendanchapman3038 also, value, except with a card that is VERY short printed, cannot be known through one sale. That’s just one sale. Any card can sell for any amount if one or two people go crazy. That’s why you’ll see cards sell for $25 and $100 on the same day. Until you have a sampling of sales, I would say at least 5, any value you arrive at is unlikely to be close to accurate.

I love ages 6+ yet it's $400 a box. I remember when baseball cards used to be geared to kids, now you need to have a 2nd job to buy some of the most expensive releases. I miss the junk wax days. LOL

Beautiful looking set. Priced way too high for no guaranteed autos or #'d cards. Should be $150 to $200 a box at most.
The autos are much better than chrome though
The short prints in this are more valuable than some numbered cards and most autos. But I agree about the price. Base starting price for it was $250. That sounds about right.

I really like the look of this set, reminds me of chrome fire. $400 is too much, $275-300 is decent (better) considered how much shorter of a print this set is (and some of the crazy hits within)

With autos falling 2 per case, I cannot believe this product is as much as it is! Blown away. It is a beautiful product no doubt, but at that price point I would expect an auto per box. Otherwise, unless it is a limited product (it isnt), 100 a box seems fair.

Topps is laughing at us selling a box for 400 and almost no chance for an auto. Just make a perceived valuable card that costs them almost nothing.

These cards look sweet but the value generally doesn't even come close to the price of the box. I'm not someone who needs to make money to enjoy cards but if you buy a box of these expect to lose $200 or more.
At this points...Topps is just price gouging their customers...

Cards like this just confirm my belief that Topps has created their own new "junk wax" era. Could we just get one year with 4 great products instead of 100 mediocre sets? $4/card for this? Yikes.
I agree in general, but this is NOT a mediocre set. Tons of big hits, great checklist. Design, I like but that's really subjective.
There's room for way more than 4 sets. I mean 4 sets and that's Topps series one, two, update, Chrome. No Bowman, Bowman Chrome, Draft. No high end, no ultra high end, no low end that kids can afford. You need around 20 with how the hobby has expanded.
I would keep the 3 Topps flagship, Topps chrome and chrome update, the Bowman trinity plus Bowmans Best, Museum Collection, Tribute, Transcendent (Topps and Bowman) for those psychopaths that can lay down like 30k for a box, Big League (for the kids). I would keep this set because I think its well done and different from everything else. And I think Chrome Gilded is a great release. Then I would keep Sapphire, but I would combine chrome and update into one set and then Bowman and Bowman Draft.
Those are the release from Topps I feel should be kept.
Note: I don't include, but am not against the limited releases that are web sales only. Like the Mantle set, Jeter, etc. The one offs.
