I throw a lot of envy’s and the glow envy has the best flight characteristics in my experience. Definitely give that plastic a try!
I’ve thrown every plastic the envy comes in (3envy aces this year in 3 diff plastics) and while I love the glow envy, I think I’d say the prism plasma is it for me.. the truest to the numbers and hasn’t even beat in yet..
Yes! Was about to post the same thing. The glow envys are so money!!!! I also just purchased a Prodiscus Jokeri in the ULTRIUM plastic and the flight and distance are pretty much identical. With the Jokeri with slightly more distance
Not sure if you've tested one yet but the Axiom Proxy is also a great throwing putter. It would be more similar to the Pure than the Envy.
I prefer the proxy to the envy personally they're both excellent discs though
The Envy is an amazing throwing putter. Slight finish that beats into a super straight point and shoot disc!

I like the cosmic neutron for FH the best. Handles torque well, not too gummy, and good grip.
I bag 2 glow envys and one other one. They are great for puting and throwing. Very reliable in the wind. Which is why I switched to them from discraft Banger GT a while ago. Banger GT is a great throwing putter, but the rim on top makes it too finicky in high wind. I throw zones for forehand upshots and envys for backhand upshots and putting. Zone is better for forehand shots specifically.
If you are gonna bag envys I def recommend trying a plasma and glow plastic. Proxy is also the same flight plate with a different oversold. Great for a more understable option.
Electron soft and Soft Neutron are my favorite. the electron beats in to the best woods disc

Funny, I bagged the Axiom Envy today as well, threw at CeraLand DGC in Columbus Indiana 😂 shot a -5 playing the white tees, it's a fun pay-to-play course if you're ever over there. I'm off to play The Canyons at Dellwood in IL next

I bag an Envy and a Proxy. I find that more and more, I'm throwing my TSA Praxis over either of them. I throw the Envy maybe twenty feet further, but man that Praxis flies so perfectly point and shoot, that I'm using it more and more often

Envy in soft neutron for over stable, Envy in soft electron for under stable, also bag a Retro Pure for more straight neutral shots. Really like my soft neutron envy for in the woods, doesn’t bounce to far when you hit a tree and the disc doesn’t take much damage.
I throw a Electron Soft and Eclipse 2.0 Envy. Both are in my top 5 favorite discs I've ever thrown!
i only have the Election soft and I love it, is it worth getting the Eclipse? is it the same flight just more fade?
@@matthewlogana2438 The Eclipse will be a little more torque resistant with a consistent fade. The 2.0 Glow is also the best glow plastic on the market in my opinion.
Opto Pure and Neutron Soft Envy cover all of my putter shots. I can rip on the envy without it turning and it goes about 280 for me. Really fun disc to throw. Another great video!
I bag an opto pure and a proton envy for my throwing putters. It’s such a good combo
I bag Envy's and Ion's for throwing putters. Neither will flip ( I throw them around 300 give or take if I have the ceiling) but the envy is way more over stable, the ion is for straightish(still fades a bit) shots or anhyzers.
I have an Electron Medium and Hard, Eclipse, Neutron Soft and Plasma. They're all a bit different. Electron for distance and turnovers, Neutron for stability.
I've tried the Envy and the Nomad, only shortly tho. I bag Pures and Harps and absolutely love them. The Envy was underwhelming for me for some reason, not bad by any means but not money either. The Nomad however was MONEY from the first shot. The Pure is still easily the best for me 😅
I think the cosmic neutron and glow plastics are the best for Envys. The electron is good for anhyzer shots, but not as reliable with the 1 turn. They also beat in quickly
For me personally : Glow envy for throwing straight to stable, a beat to death electron firm envy for understable thrower, soft proxy for c2 and soft envy for c1 putting, but any combination of any of these 2 discs works magic!

Is the Pure you have in Opto-X or Gold-X? These should be the closest to an Electron Envy (in flight,) although the Envys I have (Plasma and Eclipse 2.0) have noticeably more fade.
I have one in the Electron Medium and Cosmic Neutron, and by far the Cosmic Neutron is better for throwing for me, the Electron one burns over easily, for me. Love the cosmic neutron though

FYI: get a dead cat for your lapel mic. it will help with the wind.
Your video quality when into the dumps when you zoomed in. Keep the picture wide and do an ace trace or something like that if you lose the disc in the wide shot. The fuzzy zoom in is no bueno. Best of luck I look forward to your pig review.
good tips! I have new lapel mics that have them inbuilt so that def helps and Ik the vid quality dropped big time, accidentally recorded something in 1080 to outro an old video I had shot in 1080 and forgot to switch back to 4k. Pig video is same but everything after is in 4k 10bit 4:2:2, and tbh, the time savings of keyframing positions vs making a flight tracer is massive over the long run of the vid and it's honestly not something I think the majority care abt since (sadly) most dg content doesn't have solid tracing at the creator (not production comp) level. So it's just a time vs what you get back thing so I can do more content. As I eventually hire some editors and shooters, it'll be better because I can just shoot on a 24-105 and get full frame zoom in and have other editors I can pay for that time, but as things grow I have to get more up and keep quality solid, which is why the 4k will help, but unfortunately in these vids just didn't make sense to trace it! Love that you noticed all that though!

Your issue with the sky god is a lot like my issue with the glitch. I want to love the disc, but I can't power grip it, because it feels like the disc just tips to a 30 degree angle in my hand when i grip it. I have to do a variation of a fan grip to keep the disc level when holding it. I haven't tried throwing it with a power grip yet, as the feeling is just awkward, but I feel like I'm losing out on potential uses with it if I can't power grip it.
I don't think it's a disc that I need in my bag, but I think it would be a fun disc to have in my bag, kind of like having a tilt in my bag.
I have a base level plastic envy, That I threw a little a couple of years ago, but didn't like the fact that it was base plastic as a throwing putter. I have a premium one ordered, when that shows up, I may see if it can find a spot in my bag. Maybe replace my suspect...Currently using prime burst wardens for putting, vip maiden for straight throwing putter, and Lucid suspect and soft zone as overstable approaches. Probably more putters than I need, but only one local course really has any long holes. Most of the courses can be played with mids and a driver for one or two holes.
I've wanted an electron envy so bad for over a year now but my local stores have never had any. I bought a pig, z zone, pyro, glow Reko, soft nomad. Don't like the zone lost my pig. Love my proton PYRO and Reko
i feel the same about warped discs. Beat in, good. Beat up, bad. i almost only bag premium plastics.
Nah… so many pros and ams throw base plastic for putting putters, and electron has a nice grip… for me MVP 🥇
I got some glitches to putt with and actually I found in low wind situations the glitch is a really great putter and I also putt with soft neutron envys. They are stupid good and next to no ground play.
Have you ever tried the Colt? That is the most glidey putter ive ever thrown, and its dead straight with minimal fade and not a lot of turn out of the box if you find a domey one, but its more glidey then the Envy in my opinion, i used to bag the Envy but switched to Colts for straight backhands and Invaders for straight forehands and those Colts i can get up to 400 on a good day, they just keep flying. Most people i know have never even thrown em and I say give it a try!
I moved from Colts to Envys as the Colts would turn on me. Couldn't rely on it.
I'd compare the Colt more to the Nomad. Which I bag instead of the Colt for anny approach shots.
I still like the colt and would recommend for certain folks but isn't always the answer.
Is it really better than the Proxy?
Theres a top of the world shot at my local course, its like a 480ft par 3 and like 250ft of elevation, everone whips out their drivers, I see some mids sometimes, and I throw my envy down there and let it flex out, I dont even use full power it just glides all the way down there, I have gotten pin high a lot and circle 1 a few times. By far the best disc in my bag. Its almost a cheat code on that hole because my drivers and mids do way more unpredictable things.
Thanks for the vid. Have you considered feeding yourself something that will slow you down a bit? Its almost like Im watching you at 2x speed. Taking a breath or two before your shots (specially scrambles), MAY improve your consistency as well.

I love throwing putters, and the Envy goes too far to throw in a putter slot. It has so much distance and control. I like it for wide turnovers because it always gets all the way out there, some discs have a hard time pushing through anhyzers. It's absolutely one of the most-bagged discs by my local disc golf community

The Envy feels pretty similar to a Westside Maiden to me.
I bag a glow envy for overstable, premium Matty O maiden for straight/stable and beat in base maiden for straight/understable. But eventually I might try to beat some electron envys to cover all the shots.
Try the axiom Proxy
I prefer the Proxy myself. It will hold a turnover line a lot better than an Envy, and for slow putter shots I find I throw that more and more often. If I want it to turn more left (RHBH) I'll just give the Proxy more hyzer. I also putt with them

@@BodanzaDiscGolf also I feel like the Plasma plastic is a must. I have all the plastics and I only bag the plasma. The electron plastics deform under tree hits and are much more understable. The plasma will never deform and has a soft tacky feel that I absolutely love when I throw or putt. It's slightly more overstsble but the feel is what I really love about it.
The Envy and Proxy are the best throwing putters in the game.
No doubt, the Envy is probably the best out there for throwing putters, but have you tried an Infinite Discs Tomb, Its a serious contender for furthest flying putter *note* the Tomb is beaded. #tombgang
E Soft is going to beat in and get flippy. If the proton is like the Eclipse it will season to a little more stable the where an E soft starts.
Note: the Envy kicked my Champ Mako3 out of my bag. For the shots I was using the Mako3 for the Envy could do and more reliably.
Oh a beat in E firm will hold the lines a fresh E soft will. Holy shot disc.
To me, the Glitch is too light to putt with. It glances off the chains on non-center hits on “putt” strength shots.
My envy snapped in half the second tree I hit. I’ll never buy mvp again.

Envy is not a glidey putter like a pure, instead it is more like a driving putter that you can torque on and will die out of the sky. (quite the opposite of say pure/luna)
Never go to the dealership to repair your vehicle unless you like getting ripped off.

The Prism Plasma Envy literally knocked 3 discs out of my bag. I Tee off with it on anything under 250. It has changed my game.

Something you may or may not already know since you do throw Pures. The Opto or Gold Line Pure, depending on your power level is, hands down, THE SINGLE best throwing putter EVER made! Just saying. This is not opinion, it's actual scientific fact.......ok, maybe not. But, IMHO, after throwing them ten years with all kinds of different power levels and angles and testing almost every other throwing putter I can honestly say, In my humble opinion, Pures are the best throwing putters made.
Area 51 is a good course for putter only rounds

I''m binning the vid, just because airspeed is just too chaotic and it's hard to see how these discs do.
(not giving a like nor dislike - just saying, try to wait for a day where the atmospheric conditions are more neutral (unless you're specifically testing discs for wind or tailwind)

🤦🏻♂️ I talked about if I was bagging it or not on the fairway walking to the final putts! Not at the very very end, because more people will have left the video. That way you finish the putts, end the video but I'd already said that around 10:42-10:55

I like this guy and this channel, but kind of wish he would slow down when speaking just slightly. Every video seems like it's just a constant run on sentence with absolutely no break between words at all. Always sounds like you're in a rush in every single video. If that's the case, slow down on releasing a video every single day and work on slowing down slightly.
He's been working to slow it down some but I think he will always have a fast pace. 🙂
Agreed. After every vid, I thnk to myself... "Meth, its a helluva drug". Not saying it applies here, but holy sh*t the ru-non sentences and jittery pace makes it hard to enjoy the content.
