    Your vid heled me lot. I have gone through 4 rectifier regulators in the past two years. Tonight I'm changing out my stator and the regulator at the same time. I appreciate your video, and the quality of the audio and the explanation is what I needed the most so your camerawork was fine for anyone like me that has been inside these wires a handful of times on the side of the rod stranded.

    Great video. It’s helping me diagnose my shadow. However I do get continuity between the plug and the chassis/ negative of battery. Does that mean stator is bad or installed wrong?

    You're better off to cut out the three prong electrical connector and just solder the wires instead. That's one of the weak points on any Honda Shadow. It will eventually corrode, and melt. It will also burn out the stator from working overtime. I suggest replacing the regulator with a Mosfet regulator (Google it) and your charging problems will be over. I replaced my stock regulator with a used Mosfet style regulator off of a Yamaha R1 and it charges better at an idle than my old one did when the engine was running fast!!

      You can go to bikebandit.com there you look for oem parts it will have a blow up of covers n mounting bolt location !

    I have an 02 shadow 750. In the middle of trying to change starter. My question is does the starter just pull out after all bolts are removed or is there something behind the case cover holding it in? Thank you. I appreciate all help.

      Many times it will have a gear with snap ring ! Unless it has a gear with shaft in there I don’t remember this one for sure but on partzilla there would be a diagram of the parts I use it to see what’s what ! Especially sometimes stuff comes missing parts !

    how in this world you getting 4 volts from the yellow stator cables. ... ! who told you that that..? the stator don't not produce 4 volts. .. Each yellow cable coming out from the stator produce over 60 AC volts. ... !

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  Před 7 lety +1

      wrong yellow charges battery on dc system Ac system bulk n red produce over 50 . sit down n hush before you confuse people

      oh I own a shop n build about 5 atvs bikers ect a week ! nobody told me i learned . mabey you can't read your meter n it says 5 volts instead of 50 . the yellow wires go to Nicola tesla invention what is its name ?

      @tnadolecki Před 6 lety +2

      4+4+4=12 , yes but not in this case. You need at least 30-70V depending on RPM.

      there are dc stators that put out dc voltage

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  Před 3 lety

      No sir the coil gets charged by the magnets creating an AC current which must be ran through diode aka rectifier to convert into DC power ! Rpms create alternating current because there not consistent . A DC motor has brushes n armature that use DC power n in that sense it's a DC stator because the current dint change ! It uses electric they other creates !

    Stator output is ac voltage...usually 20vac to 70vac at increasing rpms, engine running. I see no benefit to doing this check starter motor only.

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  Před 2 lety

      Good try this is dc system The yellows will be around 4 to 5 volts ac to go to rectify turning to dc charging cdi the trigger release the charge from 12 volts not 50 ac !

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  Před 2 lety

      If you stator don’t work you can ride till your battery is dead ! This is why u need this check !! Happy to explain if u need it !
