- Hey everyone! I'm participating in the Look for Less challenge today! I made a urn planter inspired by one from Grandin Road. I made them out of Dollar Tree planters and mine only cost $4 dollars to make! Check out the Host Yami from the Latina next door and her co-host Lindsey from Domer Home to see what they made! Really turned out great...I always wanted two big planters for the front porch....would NEVER pay what they are asking.....NOW I can make them and make four...lol. Thanks so much!!

Great creative concept! I live in a windy area, so some additions:
1. Fill the bottom container with pea gravel/sand mixture & seal it with heavy plastic sheet. I used one of those flexible plastic cutting boards. I got them 2 for $1.
2. Filled the middle one as well, for more weight.
3. Added some more design elements around the bottom of the base & the middle. Glued on various widths of rope and string; and some plastic strings of beads. I used the bead necklaces I got for free from Mardi Gras! Some Casinos also give them away.
4. Used waterproof spray paint.
This is so nice! This is a nice alternative to paying the cost of a heavy stone planter. Great idea to weight it down with stones! Thanks so much for sharing! Be blessed!
I like this one cuz there's a lot of vases, flower pots of all sizes out there and sometimes you don't know how to put them together..but this a great tutorial for that

How creative you are! I have been looking at these planters for a long time. There was one at a garage sale, but I wanted two. The local stores are outrageous so they are out. This is an option for me and one I can afford. Thank you very much! I appreciate your talents and creativity.

I made mine today tomorrow I will spray paint it so happy how it is turning out I’ve always wanted these but refused to pay the price they wanted for them can’t wait to plant the flowers and place them in front of my house 😀so happy thank you for this idea

O M G - I have a pump already and wanted to make a fountain for my back patio - I can either find too big or too small - this size is perfect!! Thank you for the inspiration...
it looks like strong breeze could knock this over, but if you cover this in thin layer of concrete after gluing, then it wouldn't be top heavy and it would look authentic
that is fabulous, although I would need to figure out how to make it a bit heavier because where I live we get horrendous winds and I can see this toppling over. I am thinking a bit of quick set cement in each of the pots would work nicely.

That is crazy ... crazy good! The different layers from the pots you used, add so much visual interest to the planter. And I know that jealously is not an attractive quality but I have to be honest and say that I AM jealous that you are able to go barefoot already this Spring. Not a chance up here yet. TFS your DIY idea.

Looks good. I wonder if you had gotten the DT terrarium bowl would that have given you an even closer resemblance to the inspiration piece. So square planter, small planter, terrarium planter bowl, and then larger planter as the top.
