Diana Ankudinova was 15 years old at the time of this performance of Wicked Game. The vocal competition Diana took part in was called “You Are Super” and took place on May 12, 2019. During this performance some reactors were saying it sounded like, and they wondered if Diana Ankudinova was using Auto-Tune during this performance, or some other kind of electronic or mechanical vocal Manipulation.
The general consensus of many other reactors, recording sound engineers, and actual vocal professionals, all say no. NO auto-tune was added or used, nor any other form of electronic voice manipulation. What many may not know is this, Diana Ankudinova has learned, mastered, and uses a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing which is a testament to the time and dedication Diana has put into her career at such a young age. This is also an unusual and extraordinary accomplishment for someone this young.
A singer that has mastered the polyphonic singing technique can create an additional tone which adds to the harmonic overtones and can makes it sound an octave above and sometimes an octave and ½ above, which can sound like more than one voice singing. That causes many individuals to mistakenly believe she is using Auto-Tune or some other form of electronic voice manipulation, or pitch correction software when she is not. This performance was her second appearance on the talent show called “You Are Super”, here first appearance was in 2018. The 2019 season of the show was called a super-season and consisted mostly of winners and finalists from previous seasons. As the 2018 winner, Diana Ankudinova was invited back, and she also won the 2019 super-season.
As an aside, in 2017 when she was 13 years old, Diana’s vocal range was first measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which was unusually low for a 13 year old girl. Diana did not have her vocal range measured again until she was 18 years old on September 25, 2021 during her “TheShowMaskGoOn!” performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.
At 14 years old, In 2018, she first appeared in the “You Are Super” vocal competition and performed a Russian folk song called “Rechenka” in her native Russian language. It was during this performance of Rechenka that many voice professionals started paying close attention to Diana Ankudinova because she was displaying such a low, rich, deep, resonant sound. The tone and timbre of her voice was way beyond her years in maturity, Many true vocal professionals were saying Diana Ankudinova was displaying all the hallmarks of becoming a true contralto voice type, plus her musicality and stage presence was well beyond the ability of the vast majority of 14 year old girls.
From the beginning of Diana's Rechenka performance, watch her face, and you can see sink into this character, and watch her body movements as she submerges herself into this character. It was no surprise when Diana was declared the 2018 “You Are Super” winner.
Back to 2019. When Diana Ankudinova performed her cover of "Wicked Game", no one was prepared for the sound she exhibited during her Wicked Game performance. Her other 2 performances during the 2019 “You Are Super” super-season finale won her the 2019 “You Are Super” competition! The two other songs were:
• "Blizzard" - on April 21, 2019
• "Human" - on May 26, 2019 (Super-season finale)

We are watching somethig rare in Diana. While you can find a singer around every corner, artists like this don't come around all that often. Watch the DUNE soundtrack performance with a live orchestra, this song and something like "In My Huge CIty" and you instantly understand the magnitude of her abilities to the point where one can feel her voice physically and understand that this is a rare artist. The Queen of Goosebumps indeed.

Jon, you were correct, the last judge to press, Igor Krutoy, was waiting for a break to minimise disruption to the performance. There are a couple of other performances of the song by Diana, but, she doesn't appear to have sung it for several years now, unlike others from this show.
The show itself is called "You Are Super" which was designed to allow a platform for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to show off their talent. This particular video is from 2019 and was Diana's second appearance on the show. Her debut was the previous year in 2018 when she was 14 years old. She won on both occasions (2019 was a "Grand Prix" for previous winners and finalists).
