Promo for Sheffield's post rock titans, produced by Medlo and Directed by Dave Holloway Don't Go Down to Sorrow is taken from the album 'The Destruction of Small Ideas' on Monotreme Records.
This is really some creative stuff. As an artist it really just opens that door and once I jump on a piece of paper and a F or H pencil or jumping on the Wacom Tablet, I just loose myself. An amazing feeling and true relaxation when you're gone in a world that you created. 65dos seems to do it better then any other. So glad I found these guys.
I discovered this song through an old Anderson Silva highlight reel from like 2008 I believe. Still can’t find that highlight reel to this day as I still remember it being on of the best I’ve ever seen especially with this amazing song in the background.
i believe having a genre can just be like having a creative restriction, which is why i think these guys can never be set to any genre. since when does art have to have any rules like the ones genres try to set?
if you love these like i do check out the bands "this will destroy you" and "god is an astronaut" also very amazing bands with a simular genre and sound :)
If you love something, let it go. At least that's what they say. Is it true? I don't know. Does it feel right? If right feels like a thousand needles piercing you through every inch of your body and your mouth is duct-taped so you can't say a goddamn word to express the pain the needles do to you, then yes. It does feel right. Let go of something that made you feel alive for the first time in your life. Made you see colors in grey. Made you hear songs in silence. Made you feel warm in the snow, or something like that. Is love just pain? Is pain love? Can one exist without the other? I don't know that either. Maybe the pain goes away. If one truly can't exist without the other, then love goes away too. But, who sits on the empty seat on the bus? Some seats remain empty until the final stop. Mine did. It's still warm. Looks worn out. The heat fades. Is it cold now? It's still empty though. I bought a one-way ticket, and this is my stop. Are my legs supposed to be cut off as I'm about to step of the bus? They sure do feel cut off. I got off the bus. Huh, it's raining, didn't bring an umbrella. Only thing left is for me to hope that the rain will wash off the scars. Starting anew is not really an option, because I will never feel the same again. That bus seat will always remain empty. Just like that part of me. Empty, slightly warm until it gets completely cold. Rain stopped. The scars are still here. So is the sign 'vacant' on my door. Vacant. Empty. Sry, had to blow some steam. I can't really tell this to whom i'm supposed to so i'm writing here, to no one, and everyone.
its very uplifting to see true unique musicianship in the underground scene. Postrock (if you have to put a label on it) is a very welcomed change in pace from the metal/hardcore scene and its gonna bring respect back to independent music. The bands Tides and Giant are two other great postrock bands that deserve a listen so check em out.
the 65dos style is math rock with a more powerful battrie and the originality of 65 is the adding of electro. And they are so good composer, so good perfomer. There is no name for that, it's just 65'style
Though i like this song i dont see the magnificence that everyone is praying about here... Theres like thousands of bands doing this kind of music right now.
Different people have different opinions on post rock. I have listened to tons of Post Rock bands, and love lots of them, but 65Dos is definitely my favourite by a long run.
@Jayko337 He was discussing an effect this kind of music had on him. As the umbrella term 'post rock', that's what they all are. I'm sure he'll enjoy them all, and he rightly should. It'd be cruel of me to leave out certain bands that didn't sound exactly the same, but had a similar ambiance. These are also fairly unknown bands, it's good to let new people know of them. I don't understand why you seem so affronted.
@MJD809 Post-Rock is an extremely broad genre, and 65dos have their own very unique style, which on top of that changes from release to release, but, yeah post-rock is where it's at. @RoosterCogburn TFOM certainly had math influences, but otherwise they're more Post-Rock/IDM than math rock.
This started out like it was going to have vocals, but it didn't. A part came where I expected vocals to begin, but there were none. Two minutes in I decided that it wouldn't have vocals, it was an instrumental. Toward the end it sounded like vocals would kick in, but it was too late. So, I thought maybe a single word would be sung on the last chord to throw me off. I was disappointed that vocals never came, but not disappointed that there were none
@Ph4nt4sm4ge If These Trees Could Talk, Maybeshewill, God is an Astronaut, This Will Destroy You, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Mogwai, A Silver Mt Zion, Sigur Ros, there's quite a few more too, but cannae remember them :/
@Xoahr I found maybeshewill a few days after this post ;-) They provide an equal amount of epicness(if not more) i have checked songs from the other bands as well, anyways thanks :D
Anyone have the notes for the piano? I wanna play this. Also, I swear this like belongs at the end of some sort of movie like Inception or something. It has that energy and build up to just have like an epic series of events come to an ending. Like as the dreams start collapsing in Inception or something. Or like at the end of the Saw movies when you see the twisted ending. And the deepness of this song is just amazing, 65dos and Maybeshewill are definitely two of my favourite postrock bands
@otutitsnileameuQ I really wish you were right. If you do actually know songs or bands that can play music similar to the one played from 3:00 till the end then let me know. It's like the piano that's played on 3:16 is striking directly inside my mind.So far only a few songs had a similar impact.
this is such a beautiful song! hey, pls check out our band, we are still on the process of figuring the right tune for creating our own ambient music.. just type, "jam experiment video file 3 (feb 2, 2010)" .. you can also check our past videos on my account.. leave a comment, thanks!
i could spend forever listening to this stuff, whoever says you need lyrics to show emotion doesn't know sh**
I just found post rock. It might be the musical style that I've been trying to find all along. I'm a big deftones fan too and I love their stuff.
No other songs can vibrate my heart as this one...this song really has a unique power.
I want to see them again. And longer! amazing musicians.
Is this channel still a thing? 2006.... A long time ago.

I haven't words to express what I can feel when I hear this song
I love the raw emotion that goes into every song that this band makes, it's what makes this band something really special.

@InsaneMangaFreak
The Destruction of Small Ideas is the name of the album. ;)
@Animerocker11 ye ye, it's an instrumental band.

@spozful
Dillinger Escape Plan are Mathcore, not Math Rock
65dos is a fusion between Math Rock and Post Rock
mmmm..
What is Time-O-Sphere?
Mogwai is classic

What genre is this ?
2+2=5
@Xoahr Do you actually listen to those bands? As an avid fan of most of them i can confidently say Godspeed, ASMZ, Mogwai hardly sound like this.
...recess?
Oh so this is just an instrumental band? :o
How are you, gals
.......The Lion King
@kooliofosho If you want genreless music, I recommend the Cocteau Twins.
@BleedingLlama Actually, it got better towards the end a bit but still, I don't REALLY get it.
