Mine was arching. Top bolt was a bugger. 6 inch flex head ratchet and shallow socket did the trick. Good video, thanks.

My top bolt broke loose but for some reason it is stuck, like it is cross threaded or the threads we're stretched from the factory. Stock starter in a 2012.

I saw a jack underneath the transmission, I planned on doing the same thing. Is that bracket weight bearing for the transmission?

How did you get the “back bolt” out? Did you go through the engine bay or come from underneath the truck with your shallow socket and ratchet? I can’t get a ratchet on it at all. There’s other hoses and stuff in the way. Even using a box wrench, once I get it on the bolt I don’t really have any leverage to loosen the bolt. I have removed the heavy metal bracket and the other two starter bolts but this third one in the top is impossible to reach.

I’m going through the same problem as you right now what did you end up doing ?

@@wadehouston2001 I was able to go from underneath the truck with a smaller 3/8 ratchet and a 3 inch extension for the top hard to get to bolt. I broke it loose first with a 13 mm wrench
