Wilderness Gathering 2023 (Great Britain - event)

I had a great weekend at the Wilderness Gathering in Great Britain.
(17-20 August 2023)
There was a really open and relaxed atmosphere, and there was a lot to see!
I couldn't capture all this in one clip of course, but i do hope you can almost smell it.
Events like this remind me how much distance we created between ourselves and nature., and makes me feel like i should be outside, doing the things i like, even more! So it was an all-round experience for me.
It was almost "glamping" i brought a full comfort setup, next to that, i haven't noticed "mozzies", Mosquito bites, or any ticks while we camped close to water, in "Bison grass".. so perfect!
I hope to attend more events like this in the future, and i hope this is good advertisement for the event to, so see you next year!

Ja zeker leerzaam, er waren veel gratis workshops, waar je zo aanschuiven kon, en dan s'avonds lekkere ale of cider met wat muziek, prima weekend.

Good old England! Leuk om te zien dat je een geslaagd weekend hebt gehad! Jammer dat het wss de laatste gathering was dit jaar (als ik je tenminste goed begrepen heb). Stonehenge moet je ook zeker eens bezoeken tijdens de summer solstice, hebben mijn vrouw en ik in 2012 gedaan, was een erg bijzondere ervaring, inclusief de regen die de hele nacht duurde en waardoor we nat waren tot op het bot!🤣🏕👍🥳
Hey Bert, Fyn je de video leuk vond, ja regenen kan het zeker, dat merkte ik de 1e nacht ook, maar gelukkig alles droog gehoudem, ik lag onder n grote tent omdat mijn bivi-rits na 4e keer gebruik dacht "ik doe het niet meer" als ik daarin had gelegen...
Ja voor zover bekend was dit de laatste gathering hier, het is aan de nieuwe eigenaar(s) of ze het willen voorzetten, maar ze hebben al aanbod van andere lokaties die het anders ook willen doen. Wat ik er zo over hoorde, zonder officiele bevestiging, was ik toch gerust het volgend jaar weer door gaat, zelfde datums zelfs (17 tot 21 Augustus inc reis) ((zal dat gelijk even toevoegen in de omschrijving ook, bedankt))
Wat ik trouwens ook nog leerde op n "wandel en identificeer" ronde van het event: de struik van de braam heet inderdaad Brambles, en de bes eraan de Blackberry 😉 dat ook weer opgelost 😂

Oh I see now why you had to drive by Stonehenge and couldn't stop. Still, very nice shot of it, also that looks like such a fun event!
if it was my own transport i would have stopped 100%
i'm also happy with the shot, it's decent considering it's from within the moving bus :)
The event will be held at a different location this year, that's going to be edition 22!

~34~ First I want to say how truly happy it is for me to see you happy. You are one of the better human creations I have had to honor to know. The event was different in my mind as to what it really was. I assumed you would be all split up and surviving the weekend and then coming back to discuss tips and tricks. That said, it was a very nice video and I am sad with you, this might be the last one.

The event how you thought it would be would be something i would sign up for to!
That would be a great way to share skills, but also learn things you might have never encountered before, in a setting like it.
As for the events continuation, i had some talks with organisers even, but got info from a lot of different folks involved with the event., and they all told me that if it wasn't to continue there, it will continue somewhere else., so if the new owners decide to have the event on their grounds, it will still continue on the same spot, if they don't, they have offers from other locations, so don't be sad , i have hopes :)

Hey mooie tour man! Zo te zien heb je van begin tot eind genoten 🍻 leuk sfeertje daar zijn er meerdere van deze gathetings in de UK of is dit de one and only? Nog "bekendheden" tegengekomen? Ik ben er ff voor gaan zitten met een bakkie erbij bedankt voor de sfeerimpressie goed weekend groetjes!
Ha Fred, ja dat was n top weekend! Bly je het een leuke tour vond.
In de UK zyn er zeker wel meer van deze events te vinden, deze is "the original and longest running" stond op hun posters etc
Op de 19e Aug. was er bijvoorbeeld ook n meet and greet met John "lofty" Wiseman en een event eromheen, nog geen 150Km naar t noorden, leuk als je nog n gesigneerde versie van je sas survivalhandboek wil ;)
Ik hoorde er wel andere CZcamsrs rond liepen op t event, ik heb n praatje staan maken met "Zed Outdoors" , maar verder herkende ik niemand.
Hy had nog een leuke tip voor "Lepelfeest" hier in NL, maar dat ticket is my iets te duur..
