Dodge Durango Hellcat // The Family Hellcat is Ridiculous and Amazing // Full Review

- The Dodge Durango Hellcat returns for 2023/2024 with a few new trim options and the same great 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 that can whine louder than your kids. This raucous SUV's motor pumps out 710-hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, with power going through all four wheels with a heavy rear bias. A limited slip differential and a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission help round out the performance. This six-seater can not only haul your family around, along with a camper with its 8,700 lb towing capacity, but it can also run 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Ridiculous, maybe, but also surprisingly practical, and certainly a lot of fun. Let's go ahead and take a look.

Is the price and fuel economy trade-off worth it? Do you think the novelty would ever wear off? If you own one, let me know how it's been to own!
There’s nothing else like this powertrain available from the Germans. Big supercharged v8 raw power. Not a sophisticated complicated pile of nonsense. Mercedes used to make engines like this but lost their nerve!
For sure. I always just think of these cars from Dodge like big hammers ha. All muscle, just simple, big power.
Had ours since June 2021 and the novelty never wears off. It’s the perfect daily driver (grocery pickup, school drop off/pickup, tow rig, etc).
@@S8ER that's awesome to hear! Congrats on finding something that's perfect for you! Enjoy!
@@GearboxCarReviews appreciate that. Also worth noting you touched on its only major flaw. The Uconnect 5 radio is absolutely a blemish on an otherwise great experience. Newer models have some updates to fix bugs but 2021 Model year owners haven’t received any updates in 2 years now and the software is bug ridden.
Just got one a few days ago in Destroyer grey with red interior things a beast! Can’t wait to tow our RV trailer! This thing does it all.
That's awesome! Congrats and enjoy!
Love everything about this but that price tag is what get me 😂 I’ll be fine with a r/t rango could always get a hellcat as a weekend car
Great video btw, pretty straight forward review👍🏾
Thanks! I try to keep things pretty straightforward. No big production team and I'm not one to yell features excitedly at people ha. Yeah, that price tag is a killer. I'm guessing most people buying these are rounding out their Hellcat lineup and money's not really a problem. It's great, but 100k (plus all that gas money) easily gets you a really nice family hauler and another toy or two.
@@GearboxCarReviews hit the nail on the head with that. Definitely a FU money type of car.
My 1st time watching your channel as well, definitely have my support. I watched a couple of straightforward reviews but never been a fan, I really enjoyed this the most. Hats off to you🫡
Thank you! I really appreciate that 🙏
Badass!🤘🤘
It's pretty nuts ha!
I need this video spot lol seems like nobody’s around haha
It's not that great ha. I'm on a hill and there's some trees so you can't see the road, but there's constantly loud trucks, ambulances, and trains I have to wait for and the property manager came by to ask what I was doing there at one point ha. I need to find a new spot!
How would you compare these to the TH?
Haven't been in one unfortunately. On paper, I like the fact that it's lighter and smaller, and I'd expect interior/materials/features are probably about the same level. I imagine I'd like it a little better, but can't speak from experience.
NOT the last hellcat. Orders for 24 have already started.
The Durango is the last Hellcat though, since it's the only one for 2024
Too long looks weird. Trackhawk was perfect size
Trackhawk looks great for sure
