There's tons of online games where tanks are quite strong. League of Legends, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft... It depends on the patches but there's been several times when tanks have been op or at least strong in both offense and defense

@@tranquilk5912 I agree. Naofumi's character is such a fresh take on a protagonist, which is why I think he's great. Tanjiro is badass. He's a nice guy but when it comes to fighting he's a beast.
@@SteveSkits have you seen King's avatar, Naofumi reminds me a little of the main protagonist from that show. He's definitely a fresh take on protagonists as they go. Enough layers for him and he's basically the definition of anime badass characters. I can agree on Tanjiro being nice guy and a beast in fighting. Honestly people can bash on new Anime, but the very few have gem characters that make the genre better as time goes on

@@SteveSkits King's avatar Anime has pretty great animation. They have one season but 2 seasons for live action that I haven't checked out yet. Abit like sword art online and like this, but we get the perspective of how we would play an mmo game vs how it is inside the game. Hard to explain but it has that 100-0 and then sort of back up again really. What attracts me mostly to Anime is it's story, animation can come afterwards

Don't forget that this was the third of the current waves
wave 1- Raftalia loses parents (her nightmare), heroes weren't summoned yet
wave 2- the first one the current heroes were involved in dealing with.
Iron Maiden uses up all of Naofumi's SP. He has three gauges, HP for his health, MP for his magic, and SP for his shield skills. Everyone from this world has HP and MP, but only the heroes have SP. Well them and something else I won't get into.
This is also the third wave. The first one hit Raphtalia's village. The waves have time limits and will go away on their own even if you don't do anything, although there would be a lot of collateral damage. I'm unclear why the wave kept going after the boss was killed. Granted there was more then one soul eater. In the light novel there was a third one, but Glass killed it before running through the portal. Also in the light novel Naofumi stole the potion off of Myne after Glass knocked her out.

I think that maybe the Wave ends if you kill the boss, but if there is someone like glass, the Wave will continue until they kill him, make him retreat, or the time limit hits. (Sorry if there is something wrong, English is not my native language)

Naofumi doesn't need a class upgrade but his party does. Heroes have no limits.

Unlike most scenes where the main character says something generic, Naofumi says “I dare you to call my bluff”. The best “talk shit, get hit” in anime
Glass is after the four carinal heroes for reasons I won't get into. She now knows Naofumi's face. However she legitimately hasn't figured out who the other three heroes are or what they look like.

@@Karthig1987 She only has a vague idea of what weapons the four heroes even used. She only recently started looking into them. There are other transforming weapons and they weren't as strong as she expected them to be, so she just ruled them out as being the Shield Hero's subordinates and wondered why the other heroes weren't there.
In the light novel there is an extra chapter from her POV that takes place much later. It was clear she didn't know who the other three were yet and might have only learned what their weapons were after the fight from people she talked to.
What other heroes? Only Motoyasu, Ren and Itsuki were there. 😏

Just to clarify for you guys. The rage shield is from the curse series. They're not different things. Naofumi just got the rage shield lvl'd up from the dragon rage when absorbed his core. If you look closely it said lvl 2 on the screen (if i remember correctly) when he used the first time.
which is ironic since the cursed series actually prevents the user from leveling up normally.

@@Faelitu The curse series stops the heroes from gaining XP, along with some debuffs, which Naofumi experiences first hand.
(ie: changed senses, etc)
They have to use their normal skills to lvl.
Relying on the Curse Series is a slippery slope as the heroes would find out sooner or later.

Know it’s late but from what I gather, think of the waves as being bottle necked. There are a shit ton of monsters, but only a few can come at a time.
Every hero that dies makes that bottleneck wider, allowing more monsters to flush out, faster than they can handle.

If you want to know why the King told Melty "If I let Him and the demi-humans do as they pleases I'll lose my family again"
Spoiler
The King had a younger sister who was born blind and sickly but she was his everything and he protected her. She didn't share their hatred for demis. She fell in love with one and ran away together. But to the King she was kidnapped and murdered by them when she eventually died giving birth to her daughter; who is unfortunately also blind and sick, she also gave birth to a boy who just like the King protects the girl as much as he can; but they were betrayed by demis who ousted them (they are demi royal blood) and sold them as slaves.
Naofumi rescues then in his quest to save as many demi slaves as possible. He nourishes the girl back to health and one day takes them to Melromarc where King Trash sees they are half-tiger just like the one who stole his beloved sister and rushes to attack them but when the girl senses him she turns around and seeing her face and blindness he is left speechless and only walks away confused and mumbling to himself.
Glass: Weird... they told me there were 4 heroes.
It funny having to carry a team of attackers by attacking as a tank.
These next few episodes are gonna piss yall off so be ready lol and yall wonder why naofumi is still on guard against people that arent close to him or his party and hates anyone that is royalty.

Fun Fact: the Rage Shield has different levels, much like Naruto's fox possession. Every level has a certain "Super Move" which comes at a price.
Iron Maiden doesn't actually use MP, but rather SP which only the heroes possess.
(Spiritual Points = basically a super move bar)
There is a specific reason why Glass is so powerful, which will be revealed later on.
