I remember watching this when it was first transmitted in 1986, watching on my little Sony Trinitron TV in York. Excellent series. Thanks for posting it.
I Hope one Day The BBC will Put This TV Series on DVD just like The Train Now Departing and Gods wonderful Railway and The 1968 TV Version of The Railway Children
Miles Kingston presents and Tells The Stories of This Program Very well and very nicely

Bring back steam, our seats on most modern trains are uncomfortable
hard to imagine running on the Fort William to Mallaig line with no headlight. I don't know how you would know where you were.
Excellent, thanks for posting.
The duchess of Hamilton is beautiful
she definitely looked better without the streamlining
I’ve always thought the loco was better with streamlining. It gives it a distinct and sleek appearance and stands out amongst the York exhibits.
Nice to see the full series on CZcams!!!!
