There are probably some people who would think how silly it is to do a video on a saw, well I am not one of those people..I only buy Ryobi products from my hand tools to lawn equipment, mainly because of the interchangeable batteries..I almost always have 3 batteries on the charger and one in whatever I am using..I bought a circular saw last year and am super intimidated by it. Trying to read those instructions when you are clueless about technical terms takes forever...Instructions may mention something like TPI, and then I have to stop, google what TPI means and look at images to illustrate the meaning, and 20 minutes later go back to reading the instructions..Needless to say this video, broken down barney style was very much appreciated...I know NOTHING about this sort of thing so listening and watching a video, as basic as it may seem to some, is very appreciated..It's also good to know there is really no possible way I can lose a finger short of sawing it off myself..SO thank you for putting those safety mechanisms in place..I kind of like having all my body parts and limbs..
Thank you for such helpful feedback! These videos are to help, so I love hearing that it did just that for you! Good luck in all your projects!
First time putting blade in wasn’t shown here. On page 13 of my manual, Fig. 1, it shows a diagram, make sure to place G (inner blade washer) in to slot before/under blade, then put on blade, then F (outer blade washer), then put in screw and tighten. I tried putting them both on as found them on top of blade. Did not work, thankfully! So if you are a newbie like me, hope this helps! Happy sawing 😊
Thank you. I needed this info!
@@susancarterfricks3995 Yay! Glad I could help!
@@susancarterfricks3995 funny you just said this 3hrs ago. That’s why I’m here too
Thank you! Thats what I was missing. You saved me time.
@prasannanarayanan7212 awesome, glad it worked out for you!
I wish there was a demo how to use it not just all instructions
I have been intimidated of circular saws since the first time I saw my Dad use one as a child. Glad to finally get over this fear and attempt my first subfloor repair. Thanks for the great video going step by step on the process!
Had the good fortune yesterday to work with this for the first time. I have to say, it worked fantastically. So +1 to my options. No more getting the store to cut things for me.
I was hoping to see a few cuts😢
Great video, thank you!! Such an ease explaining an intimidating tool!
Cool - thanks for making it simple. Looking forward to using a circular saw.
You bet! Have fun and be safe!
Thank you for making this simple and easy to understand so it isn’t so intimidating!!
Just got mine today, this video was perfect for what I needed. I was a bit intimidated at first but once I made that first cut it was smooth sailing! And it wasn't that loud either 😊
Love the 101 videos!
Great video thank you so much I'm getting ready to cut off the bottom of my kitchen door, due to it not opening after the floor was tiled. Last time I used one was 30 years ago to cut some pieces of 2x4s for my son's fort in the backyard.
How'd the job go?
It would’ve been nice if you would’ve included the information on where the trigger lock switch was because I can’t find one on mine
"If you like what you saw...." - pardon the pun 🤣
🤣Nice!
Clear and concise.
I have an electric Ryobi 7-1/4" circular saw. I followed the directions took the center poles out the spring washer and the next washer. Put the enclosed blade on for the first time. And went to put on that first washer. Nobody is explaining why the washer has a rounded side and a flat side in which side goes towards the blade and which side goes towards the spring washer
Shannon Evans, much appreciation! I always look forward to your videos. Thank you for another informative video.
Welcome back to another video! I have a feeling you are a pretty loyal RYOBI fan and that is awesome to see. Thanks for your kind words. It means a lot because I genuinely do want to hear from you!
Thank you!! You help alot
Wow! That video was so helpful!!
Thank you for commenting! I love hearing that it was helpful. Ready for your next project?!
thank you for this
Thank you! I can't wait to hear about the next project you take on with your cordless circular saw! You got this!💚
Hi Shannon, have a great week. Thanks for the informative video.
Thank you, Paul! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and hopefully you learned something! :)
Nice pun. Yes, I liked what I "saw". Your explanations we very good.
😂thank you!
It would be great if you said how to use the cut guide - otherwise very helpful video,
Is there a rafter hook for the 7 1/4 hp cordless circular saw?
do you need to add lubricant or oil like you do for chain saw?
Very senior DYI'er / home owner here. I've been loyal to the Ryobi line since they were blue & used the old yellow & black NiCad batteries. I've got a Ryobi P501G 5½" 18v circular saw. I like the saw & the battery system. Does anyone know where I can get the proper Ryobi rip guide / fence for this saw? The last time I contacted Ryobi about this they said they couldn't help me. Hey Ryobi, if you don't already do this, I'd recommend you include the rip fence with your circular saws as Home Depot doesn't carry them or any others that fit your saws. It's pretty disappointing that the customer can't get a simple accessory [rip fence] for their saw.
Very senior DYI'er / home owner here, again. Hey Ryobi, I'd strongly recommend that you print, in big letters, on the outside of the product boxes & on the first page of the instruction manuals, an easy to reach website to download a copy of the specific manual for the given part just purchased. Some of us consumers would like to view these manuals before purchasing the tool & would also like to be able to read these manuals more easily using a digital device. I'd also recommend you provide the consumer with an easy way, electronically, to recommend suggestions to Ryobi regarding their manuals & tools.
You had me at,
“A circular saw is a crowd pleaser”
Right? Who doesn't love the circular saw! I mean, it enters a room and everyone is like, "Yes! The party can start!" 😂
I have a Ryobi that has a laser light, but there are no instructions of how to use it. Also you gave incomplete instructions for changing the blade.
Can the
battery of this be charge directly in 220?
R18CS7 or RCS18X. Which one is better? :P
Im getting a 4 in 1 which includes a circular saw and Im glad Im watching this first! My first "big boy" tool, I never owned anything that cuts thats electric powered so was super hesitant but now I will be able to do decking and door fitting, dad 2.0 skills here I come!
That’s awesome!! I’m glad you were able to enjoy this video and that you are feeling so confident! You got this.💚
But u never really showed it l mean to turn it in and put it to work in a wood material .
My lock knob to adjust the blade depth is spinning and I don’t know how to fix it. Can someone help? I’m new to this and I can’t find how to fix it online 😢
You need to have more footage demoing what she’s talking about . More than half the video she’s just talking without showing
Am I supposed to lubricate a new saw?
OK, look at the camera. And yeah, I’m sitting here with the same damn saw in my lap and I still don’t know how to make it work so thanks but no thanks and if what if you left-handed also? I was so looking forward to this.
Make sure to turn clockwise to loosen
I once cut the cord of my circular saw with the circular saw itself while it was plugged in and operating, since then I've had a fear of using circular saws. I just bought a Ryobi saw for cutting stringers and don't know what to do with it 😭😭😭.
Demo?
This in no way told me “How to use circular saw.” Relatively worthless.
Then maybe pay attention.
That Is a very normal or average size wrench.... not tiny at all lol
This is a joke. You guys need to do this video again. Around 5:12 is her talking about how to take out the blade and never shows it coming out or putting it back in. I came here because I bought the circular saw and the chainsaw. I wanted to see a video in addition to using the instructions, and this was totally useless.
How is it possible to make a video titled 'How to Use a Circular Saw' and not a Circular Saw a single time...?
Whybrows
Omg. Now i understand why people are laughing at ryobi users, because they need videos like this.
She can talk for England but how the hell do you use it
Is it just me, or did this video not actually demonstrate how to do any of the important starter items she was talking about?.. like, we didn't even cut anything in this video? Or secure something to be cut. I feel like I wasn't shown how to use this thing at all.
It’s RI-O-BEE not REE-O-BEE
Jim...💚💚💚 I am only here to tell you that even if you decide to pronounce it differently, I will still share a smile with you! 😉
@@Madebyshannonevans 😁 Ryobi is in it to win it regardless of how you proounce it. They are really upping their game. 👍
@@jimf.625 You know it! And I am glad you are here! Any cool projects you have going on? I want to hear all about them!
This is an example of how NOT to make a how to use video! Awful. She just blabbered uselessly before even talking about kind of sorta of what it is and very vaguely how to use it yet never even SHOWED how to use it. Pointless waste of time
If you can't handle a simple video like this, I don't know how you're going to tackle a project that would require it.
Too much talk. No practical example
I recommend working on your attention span before tackling projects that require power tools.
Horrible instructions.
Sounds like user error.
I really like Ryobi but I just purchased a new circular saw because my old one gave out after over 10 years of service.
Unfortunately it seems under powered.
I use a 6H battery but it binds if the blade setting is 1in or more.
Ryobi, you can do better than that!
