I love this crossing seen it a couple of times, never tire of watching the video's. So much of interest to see while crossing safely! Love the alarm & the signal box & cabal. Nice passenger trains but I do like the freight trains that pass through there. ❤😊👍
It's probably to do with the average time it takes to cross, the angle which the walking route takes, and the presence of the sliding bridge that this is the only system that works here tbh.

I know of crossings like that. There's one in Northumberland on the East Coast Main Line I saw a video of.

It is a very unique crossing, especially being on the quirky sliding bridge and being able to see some of its mechanisms

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is they could be linked with the sliding bridge this foot crossing goes across.
