Semmeringbahn - Scheiteltunnel und Bahnhof Semmering

Aufnahmen im Bahnhof Semmering und an den Portalen des Scheiteltunnels. Dieser war bei Eröffnung 1854 zweigleisig, ab 1949 wurde aufgrund des Sanierungsbedarfs eine zweite Tunnelröhre angelgt und somit besteht der Tunnel nun aus zwei eingeleisgen Röhren mit 1434 bzw. 1512 m. Im Tunnel befindet sich der Scheitelpunkt der Semmeringstrecke bei 898 m über der Adria.

Footage at Semmering station and at the portals of the main tunnel. This was a double-track tunnel when it opened in 1854, but from 1949 a second tunnel tube was added due to the need for renovation, so the tunnel now consists of two single-track tubes of 1434 and 1512 m respectively. The apex of the Semmering line is located in the tunnel at 898 m above the Adriatic Sea.
