    the 1 to 2 pharmacist ratio is a general rule, but many states have some changes like NJ where its 1 to 3 if there is one certified technician, so look it up in your own states too.

    I didn't get it when you say that one pharmacist has one technician and two have three technicians.
    In pharmacy there are at least two point of sales, two or three production points, a drive thru and a COVID-19 testing point. So how many technicians should be there.
    Please also suggest a good book to prepare for certification exam.

    • @neicywitthagoodz6370
      @neicywitthagoodz6370 Před 2 lety +2

      Find somewhere like cvs or Walmart that will hire you as a tech in training. It’s free and they will reimburse you for paying for your own license they will also reimburse you for getting certified, which they give u 6mths to a year to receive. Other than that you’ll have to pay out of pocket to attend a program which is not worth it in my opinion. Try getting it for free first!!! I work for Walmart and we’ve hired 3 techs in training over the last year. You should try looking online for your local Walmart and apply. CVS does it too but it’s a bit more difficult to get hired 🤞🏾🤞🏾🥰

      @@neicywitthagoodz6370 hi, is a tech in training like an externship where you don’t get paid? Also, if I were to have completed my pharm tech program through a school, but have zero experience, would Walmart still hire someone who’s certified but has no real world experience? Thank you so much.

    • @AskYourPharmacistsidra
      @AskYourPharmacistsidra  Před rokem +1

      Most of the time people can't read doctor's hand writing because prescription is written using sig codes/ medical abbreviations. If you work in medical field then you must have full command on the medical abbreviations. once you see them over and over, it'll be very easy for you to read and understand prescription. I've a video on abbreviations on this channel and I will be posting an updated video on medical abbreviations on my other channel soon, you can check that out. Here's the link:

      I understand being a pharmacy tech is not easy and is not for everyone. But those who can meet the challenges it is quiet rewarding.
      Some chain pharmacies are offering starting wage of $19/hr and max can go up to $28 which is quiet amazing. Also other opportunities like moving up in the management roles of Pharmacy manager assistant, store manager, district manager, etc.
