It doesn't happen often but sometimes smaller can be better. This was so much more fun and accurate to fly in my living room...and with optical flow switched off it was smoother as well !

Literally dreamed to have scale RC aircraft like this as a kid and now its a reality!
Finally! I was waiting for a video like this.👍 Beautiful "Jet Ranger" and a must have in the future for me. But at first I have to repair my RC Era C187. It doesn't climb anymore after a light crash into the grass. Yes, sometimes this is also a part of this hobby.😁 Thanks for sharing.🙂
If that had been me flying the LCD TV screen would be toast.
Hopefully there will be a 4 bladed version to mimic the bell 407.
So impressed with RC ERA helis. Had a few BO-105 just ordered the 206.
The upgraded transmitter you have in this video is much better than the standard one. Mines in the mail , can't wait. I've already ordered decals to change mine to the NYPD Police helicopter livery.
Doesn't look upgraded to me. Actually it's simpler. Single take off/landing button and no emergency stop button compared to the 1:30 helicopters but made no difference to how it flew.
@@EssentialRC The Gimbals are better. When you order , you can choose the standard or upgraded transmitter . You have the upgraded one. When you use speed 2 or 3 you will notice the difference. Cheers.
Gotcha. Thanks Winston. Sticks were a little loose with mine. Just make sure to tighten them up first. Worst feeling when you're flying and the sticks rotate between your finger and thumb. 🤣

Why are there so many different Amazon Market Place companies such Wyftoy, Goux, ,Wyftoy, Brickddyin, Baubauokay, Kisssm Metalakaer, ToyChillied and Nula all offering what appears to be the same exact model for sale on Amazon UK? Why isn't it available through Amazon Prime proper? Why can't I find the RC Era helicopter for sale through any other UK stores (online or otherwise?). Even the link provided in the video isn't for a UK retailer. Same is also true for the larger Bell 206 model. Can someone post a reliable UK retailer for this please?
Not seen it for sale in the UK. Can't help you there. Just FYI but I'm based in the UK but reality is most of my subscribers and views come from outside.

These little RTF scale helicopters are really getting more nad more good loking with every next model. For me personally usually flying fully manually controlled 3D capable collective pitch helicopters these cute models give me close to zero fun. I have observed your cyclic stickmovents and I see that you are giving really big inputs on the cyclic stick and the heli only slowly moves in the direction of your input. A 3D CP heli would do a full flip or roll with such inputs. Means these heli are really tame in their reactions. For sure great for a beginner. But they are giving rather the controll feeling of a simple easy to fly drone. But anyway, if they bring in new pilots, then they are really doing a great job!
Nope. I'm barely moving the sticks buddy. It is what it is. If your a skilled CP heli pilot don't know why you'd both looking at this.
@@EssentialRC Because this heli is soo beautiful. The color scheme of the tail and main blades and the whole paint job is just great. It is an eye catcher and thats why I watched this video. My comment was not meant to be offensive at all. It's even sad for me that I have other expectations. I was learning to fly with a fixed pitch heli with similar possibilities and tried it after a long break. So thats why I know how it feels. It's just my experience. Not more, not less. Friendly greetings.

Great video, have been waiting to see one flying before pressing "Buy it Now"! Any thoughts on how easy it may be to remove the "RC ERA" stickers \ decals? Would love to remove them and add some 1/32 Scaletric Police ones to give it a 90s Uk Police vibe, but just wondered how well the "RC ERA" one are attached?
They are very well attached. You would be better to mask and paint over them in flat white if you don't like them.
Hello when you turn off the optical flow and the red light on the transmitter flashes...I take it that you then fly the helicopter with the red light flashing on the transmitter as opposed to it being a solid red light when optical flow mode is activated?
Yes. Red light on the transmitter flashes while optical flow is off and while you are flying.

No. This is not a CP control heli.

Hey Dom, if you have any input to what RC ERA put out I’d love to see a Westland Sea King.
I understand that it would be a larger model than the B206 or the MBB105 but I think it would be a winner.
I have the ‘Twister’ model of the Sea King, it has a working rescue winch, nav lights + rotating beacon but unfortunately, it has a contra-rotating main rotor which sort of spoils it!

Agree...Sea King would be awesome. I'll mention it to them but if you look on the back of the box like I've shown in other videos they have some very interesting helis on the way...including Chinook and Osprey !
For all I know we can't really turn off the gyro, I wish, I think what we can do is activate the 3D mode right? Very nice video, thanks ! I ordered my, the red one, and now they've release the Pro version "polizei" to pre-order, also super beautiful, I may get only the fuselage later to be able to change it if I want.
No. No 3D mode. You turn off optical flow stabilisation using the throttle trim. Hold it down for 3 seconds.
@@EssentialRC Well, I bought one, the red LAFD version, I'm waiting it to arrive here in Brazil, in the official description says : "2. 6-channel design with 3 digital servos, adding 3D rolling for more fun". I really hope you're wrong, there is also a picture of it doing all kind of 3D moves

A good 6 or 7 minutes I think. Long enough. Lose concentration after that long. As I said in the video...order it with 2 or 3 batteries so you can keep flying !

Hi I’ve just checked the official RC ERA website and it says that the blue version of the heli doesn’t have optical flow I’m so confused what is optical flow and does the blue version have it or not 😩
I confirmed with my supplier for this blue version that it does have optical flow. I can see the sensor under the heli on what I have been sent...but to be honest it's not needed. Flies very well without it. I published an outdoor video of this heli today.

You should have got the red version...that one has optical flow the blue one doesn't have optical flow!!!!!!!!!
I'm clarifying that with my supplier but when I flew it today and switched it off I thought it flew smoother. Looking underneath I can see the sensor there.
Response from the supplier confirmed that the Blue C138 from them does have optical flow sensor, as does the Red.

Hi on bangood it says you can order this heli with optical flow localisation but I believe the blue version doesn’t have this...what is optical flow localisation as bangood call it...also what is the difference between the normal transmitter and the master version of the transmitter again as bangood call it any help would be appreciated thank you
Both blue and red have optical flow unless you specifically don't order it. It's easy to turn off. You just hold down the throttle trim for 3 seconds. You get a beep and the light on the transmitter flashes to confirm it is off. The master radio has better gimbals apparently.

@@chrisrc845 Helps maintain altitude and hovering over a spot when it's turned on. It works by visual pattern recognition as opposed to barometric pressure so only works at relatively low altitudes (5 to 8 metres I think)

Too bad they got the shape o the nose wrong. They obviously mimicked the Revell 1/32 scale kit which has the exact same flaw.
I've yet to see any model manufacturer be it RC or scale kit , get the shape of the BELL jetranger somewhat reasonably accurate
@@MickB235 There were a couple of 1/48th scale models made that are VERY close. One by ESCI and another by Fujimi. They are the only ones besides the 1/32 revell kit I know of.
@@jimsmalleimb7709 yes actually I stand, well reclining at the moment, corrected. I did actually build 2 ESCI jetranger kits several years apart from each other, both as the Australian Army Kiowa from the options in the kit although I did scratchbuild the landing skids . It does come very close to the accurate shape of the Jetranger when viewed side on but where it falls down is the top of the windscreen and door frame where it rolls in from the sides to the top , it's a bit to big . The fujimi kit I found looks more accurate front on , if only they blended the qualities of both you'd end up with an extraordinary kit, I actually kitbashed my fujimi one into a 206L , my son got it and he further modified into 407
