  • Please forgive mispronunciations. We know they’re there…they are lessons learned to do better.
We all know Wes Anderson’s films…his unique style, exquisite storytelling, dazzling use of color, use of symmetry and on and on. But what dazzles us out of all of his work is the meticulously charming world of The Grand Budapest Hotel. With a marvelous team, including production designer Adam Stockhausen, he creates a world full of mystery, hijinks, love, adventure and most of all….nostalgia.

There must've been a ton of research that went into this project, very impressive. Felt like I was watching a behind the scenes bonus feature or something. Look forward to more content! Pans Labyrinth, Minority Report, or Moulin Rouge are some films that come to mind that I'd love to see covered!

Thank you so much! We did do quite a lot of digging...Wes Anderson's movies always have so much going on that we didn't want to do it an injustice...and we still didn't cover everything! Those are all great suggestions and really appreciated! Minority Report is one of our favorite action films and a great one to cover! Thank you again!

Speaking about Soviet Era elements and you don't want to remain there for very long it is really the matter of taste to be honest. I really like Soviet Era style both exteriors and interiors. And some things I like even more than from 17-20th centuries Imperial styles

Being in the architecture field, I 1000% know what you mean! Personally, I adore Soviet-era design and architecture, brutalism…all of those styles that have almost a bleakness or coldness to them. The comment was definitely in the more general sense…I hear constantly from people that those styles make them uncomfortable. But definitely agree…it’s all personal opinion. ☺️👍🏻

Is this narrated by a real person or AI? The name Goerlitz doesn’t sound like “gohr-lits” (rhyming with “poor-lits) but more like “girl-lits. The museum, pronounced here like “cunts museum” is really like the double “o” in English as in “books.” It’s like starting to say “could.” Just take off the “d” of “could” and add the last part of “angst”. “Kunst” in German means art. It hurts to hear it pronounced like the British slang, “cunt.”

    • @CineStructure
      @CineStructure  Před 8 měsíci

It’s narrated by me, an actual human. We’ve learned a lot of lessons since this video about better researching pronunciations of places (we did research a lot of these but clearly found some bad info). I appreciate the corrections on pronunciation 👍🏻
Unfortunately, once a video is up, there is little that can be done in the way of edits. So we’ll just have to live with the imperfection (which I’m good with, as an imperfect human) and do better in the future. 👍🏻

@@CineStructure I'm a 1:12 dollhouse collector. Many important pieces. But it's what is conveyed that's important to me
I've done a gorgeous modern kitchen but with a doll with her head in the oven
Have plans to do The Man Who fell to Earth (collected miniature TVs for 30 years) and mapping out The Evil Dead shack (original of course,) recreation of The Colby Room at the Museum of Science Boston I've had to make my own fimo elephant foot umbrella stands, masaii shields, colobus monkey pelts.
This is my passion. With Entomology, 1870s Victorian literature and criminal justice reform. But my heart lies thinking of the realistic recreation of reality. Scuffed and dirty floors..do pee on a carpet
I embrace drones. I think they've added So much. But an Epic film... star wars used models filmed backyards.
I can see the break where the set and cgi is. It jars me.

That’s amazing! I’m an architectural designer and scale model building has always been a passion of mine just as a result of building them in school…and I adore dollhouses!
I totally get where you’re coming from. Some films do cgi well and some just don’t at all. It’s amazing how far it’s come in such short time.
We did a video on “Hereditary” and discuss the use of the miniatures in that film as well. It’s such a cool parallel within the story.
We’d love to see some of your work! Do you post anything online? Instagram or anything?

We love the Marvel stuff too. We’re of the school that everything has a place and an audience and is its own work of art created by talented, hard working teams of people. To each their own. I love that we live in a time where everyone can find something they love and that speaks to them on a personal level. ☺️

If you could narrate a second slower, that would be nice.

Thank you for the feedback! We really appreciate it! This one was so tricky…if I’d talked any slower it would’ve been a 30 minute video 😂 Hoping my narration is better paced in the others we’ve done. Thank you so much for watching! ☺️

    OVERRATED movie!
Life Aquatic, Royal Tennenbaum and Rushmore always be best Wes Anderson film ever!

      My heart! 💔
No I kid…we are all entitled to our opinion. I am a lover of all things Wes Anderson. I even loved “The French Dispatch,” which seemed like an unpopular opinion, sadly. Royal Tenenbaums was my OG intro to WA. I used to live near the house in Harlem…absolutely ADORE that film!
