FIFA 99 is an association football video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sixth game in the FIFA game series and was released in 1998 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation, and Nintendo 64.
While the indoor mode was no longer featured, the gameplay's fluidity and responsiveness was increased. The increasing number of websites dedicated to the game and a larger number of leagues (the Malaysian league was removed, and on its stead came two new leagues: the Belgian First Division and the Portuguese Primeira Liga; this came to be a problem when the owners of the rights to the Primeira Liga tried to pull the game from the shelves locally). Graphically, it is a major improvement over FIFA '98, with the inclusion of basic facial animations and different players' heights as well as certain other cosmetic features such as improved kits and emblems, although they are unlicensed. Gamers may also create their own custom cups and leagues and select the teams they wish to participate.
FIFA 99 also features an elite league called the "European Dream League" in which 20 top teams from across Europe battle it out in a league format. It was also the first game to feature a block containing teams which did not pertain to any of the main leagues (back then, it was known as "Rest of Europe" since all teams were European, the vast majority of them featured either in the 1998-99 season of the Cup Winners' Cup, UEFA Cup or Champions League).
Incredibly the PSX version and also the N64 version got good receptions, but the PSX version has like "FIFA: Road to World Cup 98" and "World Cup 98" the better intro :)
This Longplay goes through my custom Cup, the "EA EURO 2021" (lol), i had planned first the European Dream League (the game-exclusive feature in FIFA 99) but 3x against each club in the group was too much for my opinions! - Hry

what difficult are you playing???
I reckon medium. I remember that Easy mode it was too easy. Medium good but the opponents wouldn't try to shot on goal even if the ball was almost in! Difficult, definitely more goals from the game

The title music was sooo so bad. The mechanics were almost so repetitive at hard difficulty we knew almost everything that would happen after a while. Still we had no other game to play. I used to carry my duplicate firmware ps1 to my friends house in the bus and we would play this till evening.

I used to play this game all the time... I was born in 2001 but growing up I used to love playing any game I could find that was playable and fun... And this game and road to World cup 98 where my jam...
In FIFA 99 I used to create a custom American League... With teams like the New York cosmos, fort Lauderdale strikers, Philadelphia Bell, etc... Fun times
