    She's really come a long way in her confidence on stage. Now, you'd think she's been touring for many years.

    • @HotelPapa100
      @HotelPapa100 Před 5 lety +10

      For some values of "many" she has. She has honed her stage skills since age eleven, been touring for two years. In relation to her young life, that's a lot.

    • @SamBorgman
      @SamBorgman  Před 5 lety +8

      Yep, she has also become extremely confident overall. It shows in her performance on stage.

    Ur so beautiful is definitely beautiful. This event was marked by an energy of great joy and euphoria, both from the artist and from her band, and from the audience that yearned for her and the affection of the fans in receiving her, demonstrates her good campaign and performance in her work, talented, smart does an incredible job, congratulations and "success always" !!!

    On stage, she always impresses with fast movements, full of energy, but without losing the rhythm of the songs, with full control of her activities, is a source of talent, congratulations and "success always" !!!

    I had to come back and watch your video, Sam. It's like being there. I was at the Depot in Utah, Grace is absolutely the best live performer ever. I've seen alot in my time since the 60's, thanks again Sam! Grace is on her way.

    Wow..... fully charged Grace! Not sure I've ever seen her have quite this much fun, makes me feel like jumping for joy with her. Think all her new songs are very close to her, "Poseur" in particular seems important to her. So obvious that the sort of 'metamorphosis' she underwent working up to "Stray" has freed her from the entanglement of the production process and calmed the "rough waters" she experienced during the JTB era. Grace is herself now and her music is what she wants it to be and the whole World is enriched as a result! Thanks so much Sam... fine piece of work!!

      Thanks Ross. When she came out hopping and bouncing like that I knew it was going to be good. And it was undoubtedly one of her most energetic shows.

      Hi Sam! Trying to be patient for the new EP but I am in dire need of a new Grace CD with all of her "born again" songs! I am totally fascinated by the stories she is telling in these new creations, I think we are learning a lot about Grace now that she is truly able to reveal in her music what she is feeling and experiencing.
      So what do we think will be on the new CD? Stray, Ur So Beautiful, Waste My Time, Poseur, Don't Like You, The City, for sure....and what else? Any surprises ya think, like she springs something we haven't heard at all yet? I know you were lobbying for "You'll Get Bored".... any luck with that? Maybe she'll surprise with that?? She teased another one a few months ago "Lately" I think. Anyway, just staying engaged here during the doldrums and my favorite pastime is Grace anyway (used to be fishing). Just got my busy season behind me and it's nice to kick back..... I probably feel almost as happy to do that as Grace is right now. Hope she's over her gomboo and feeling better and rested up. What an incredibly grueling 2 months. I'd hate to see her back away from Touring...... Yikes!

    • @SamBorgman
      @SamBorgman  Před 5 lety +2

      @Ross Winslow Oh I wasn't thinking about Stray being on this EP but yes probably will be there. You'll Get Bored is what I want the most. I'm not the only one either and I can prove it. First check out Henning's channel. czcams.com/channels/2xD01HRodciQvHzQsi0cpg.htmlvideos. USB from Slipper Room is his most viewed at 87K. Second is YGB at 43K. Of course, those were her 2 brand new songs and USB was the single being released at the time.
      Now see Freddie's channel. His videos from Cal Poly. czcams.com/users/RunUphillBackwardsvideos. USB at 27K, YGB at 78K! over 3 months after Slipper Room. By far Freddie's most viewed video in 2 years, since his Valley Hospital videos. People LOVE this song. I hope Grace's people can see these numbers somehow. Them knowing is not enough though, Grace has to know it because I'm sure she is the one who makes the final decision on what ends up on an album or EP. I'll make another tweet begging for YGB soon, hoping she will see it.

    • @rosswinslow4595
      @rosswinslow4595 Před 5 lety +3

      Sam - thanks for the links, yes I saw these earlier, great stuff by both Henning and Fredee! Oh I concur it s/b on the EP, it's just that it's been flying under the radar vs the others I listed. She seemed to drop it after these pre and early in her Tour performances, just find that curious. Yes, by all means do another tweet.... and stir up as much fuss as you can. FN should join the fray and others. It's a wonderful song and love her voice movement in it. Grace's voice..... geez, just getting so much more lovable, didn't think that was possible. It's why I say I need a CD.....NOW!
      Also I think YGB is another of the "personal" songs; the stories that are revealing what's going on with her and where her thoughts and feelings are. It'll probably be on the EP.... IF how she feels about what she is saying in the song hasn't changed dramatically... quite possible. Again, she just seems to have let go of this song... curiously.
      Oh definitely "Stray". That's her 'born again' song; the song that brings her back to who she is after rejecting being swept up in the production process and too much influence from the "pros" and tossing out basically the previous years work. It's the song and philosophy that set the groundwork... and tone for all the ones that have followed. I've said that I believe Stray is as important to Grace and her career as anything she has ever created, right up there with IDKMN and Moonlight. I've always thought that she would build an album around that amazing song! If it's not on there, it will render me totally wrong about everything I've said here and felt and thought for months. Sooo.. hope it's on there.. ha! Thanks Sam, love talking about this with you!

    • @SamBorgman
      @SamBorgman  Před 5 lety +1

      @@rosswinslow4595 Yep agree about Stray. I was watching the YGB videos out there and got reminded that at one time she said "haven't released it yet but can't wait to". :) So it sounds like she wants to release it. This was after Slipper room, at Cal Poly. I can only hope she still likes the song and still wants to release it. I'm sure she has so many songs that any one song can get left behind by another. I do think there will be new songs on the EP we haven't heard yet, maybe 2 at least. Hopefully it comes out in October.
      My hope is:
      1. Stray
      2. USB
      3. YGB
      5. WMT
      6. Poseur
      7. The City
      8. New Song
      9. New Song
      It might be just 8 songs though. We'll see how it goes.

    You lucky bastard! (That's a compliment here in Nevada.) Just getting to these older videos and absolutely loving this one. I agree the instruments are a too loud, the best parts are just her vocals. Had I known of her before this year you know I would have gone to several of her shows here on the west coast, and I haven't been to concert in 15+ years. Thanks again for recording this.

      haha Yep saw her all three times she's been here. My previous concerts before hers were Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Sarah McLachlan, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine etc. Mark Knopfler and Itzhak Perlman since her last show, which was this one. And so many people think her music is for kids.

    This is, as always I want to say, an incredibly amazing video, Sam. TYSM. Grace is really on fire in Toronto and the crowd is very responsive. Grace puts up an amazing show, you can see she´s giving her all. I love her band, but sure would love to hear a bass player too. Would add much value to the sound arrangement. Well, maybe next tour, right?

    Really great video Sam nice to see the stage from this angle well done and the sound is good aswell. Why does she never do an encore??

    • @SamBorgman
      @SamBorgman  Před 5 lety +2

      reflexxtr Thanks! I don’t know. I think encore is more common for bigger artists with a lot of songs. Especially when they plan not to do their biggest song during the main set. Grace sings all her best songs during the set which makes it apparent she has no plans for encores.

    • @drmayeda1930
      @drmayeda1930 Před 5 lety +2

      She gives it her all. I'm not sure she has much left for an encore. I don't know when it happened but she had someone opening and she surprised the guy, throwing confetti into the air, and gave him a hug.
