i am inflicted with arrogance and anger but everytime i listen this and read meaning i understand how insignificant we actually are. may allah swt protect all of us from punishments of grave and hellfire and allow to rectify our affiars and taubah.

One thing I took from this is that everyone even the Grandson of the prophet(saw) soul betrayed him and he worried for his journey into the next abode and he worried about the pile of sins on his back and he was thankful to Allah for shielding his sins from the people. To have taqwa of Allah is to have everything.. May Allah(swt) grant us Jannatul fridous.

I wouldn't state it quite so....the cadence of the qaseeda is striking and bespeaks beautiful natural and unnatural insight....one can assume that the qaseeda reflects on the imaam BUT it's most probably also a sign of the times. Remember, the imaam says, it seems to me, so it's a parable or a dream but in this is a lot of allegorical beauty....if one reads the complete qaseeda , of which a copy is available in the kitaab Miftagul khanazil jannah, Keys to the Treasures of jannah, chapter Maraqaba maut, reformation & death....at once things become more clear but at the same time even more worrying.
The Imaam is warning us, not himself. There is a subtle line in 2:04 that refers to this....the blame that others put on us for things that go wrong in life....men are especially aware of this, as it's a burden we are well aware of, the blame of soceity etc and lastly our spouses and where everything flies to after our demise....to another stranger that inherits our wealth by default and our children are his slaves etc. Also the women bear our children but are themselves very much unappreciative of our efforts until we die of course then it's a little to clear....and then she's off to another....trouble is just to much... and gone is the love she had for us!
Obviously, this is a general parable meant for us to recognize each other's weaknesses and not to grow arrogant....as Milton says, death the great leveller.
Nb I mean no disrespect to any women but some things need to be said as it is. You either accept it or you don't and that makes you a stranger also...the imaam refers to this by mentioning the word Sirr, which is one's secret Self hidden very far away in your heart...that part that only we and Allah knows....one are treated in life one Time or another consistently as stranger's....in fact we are the stranger traveling to death!

line 39, line 40 and line 44 are missing
    Here are the missing lines:
    line 39:
My wife has taken another husband in my place
And she has appointed him as overseer over my wealth and my home.
    line 40:
She has made my children into servants to bid unto her needs
And my wealth has become to them a worthless means of enjoyment.
    line 44:
O you who sow good, you will reap the fruit of your efforts.
O you who sow evil you will find yourselves overcome with grief.
