Anywhere in the woods is dangerous these days. While we used to play, unsupervised, in the woods as a kid, you never know when you'll stumble across a homeless encampment now. Times have changed and not for better. Be safe everyone✌️

There was some tracks along Delaware Avenue near where I lived as a kid as well. Mom was always saying don’t go down there, which, of course, made it an even more attractive place to go. Ha-ha!

We had river cats where we hung out when I was younger. They're not regular feral cats, more rat-like. One time tripping balls I was trying to pee in the dark and I walked right off a ledge at Frankford arsenal into the Delaware river.

For wild dogs, carry a Glock 36. It conceals very easy and can make a Pitbull into ground beef

Oh Captain, in case of your interest a rural residential Ave portion in Eastwick Delco at one time abandoned since the 1970s...Also a PTC/Septa subway surface trolley used to go up to 94th st before being pushed back at 80th and Eastwick Ave loop by Island Rd and Lindbergh shopping center... One to definitely google about and possibly consider video wise..This is just outside SW Phila/Delco border via Island Rd not far from the airport...

Yes there was a trolley that ran near PHL from sw Philly to Tinnicum TWP.
My parents moved to Philly in 1953. There was a big traffic circle before the Expressway was built over the old highway, and the trolley used to street run on the circle. My Mom's old friend who was born in the 1920s in Philky said that they used to grow tobacco (!) in the field inside that traffic circle.

@@n.e.barton1299 I hope the PHILLY CAPTAIN whenever he decides to explore more of SW Phila besides doing DELCO will check out the abandoned Eastwick Ave stretch from Island Rd that used to be populated and active way back in the day..
