Episode 7: LET’S WOMAN UP - Darrylin Gordon, pastoralist, Lamboo Station, Kimberley

Darrylin is a Jaru woman. She comes from a line of strong and proud Aboriginal women. Her family has been working with cattle all of her life. She remembers being with her grandfather in cattle yards from an early age and she knew that this was what she wanted to do. Today Darrylin is the only woman working on Lamboo Station, owned and run by the Ngunjiwirri Aboriginal Corporation. Her vision to offer training camps to empower local Aboriginal people, earned her the title of WA’s Rural Woman of the Year in 2018.

What a woman, what a lady. I'm a sandgroper myself and boy do I feel so homesick when I watch anything to do with WA country. I feel that way right now. I worked on Moola Bulla station for 2 years which has a boundary with Lamboo. On a muster I remember a mob of about 15 brumbies led by a huge black stallion crossing in front of me flat gallop and going into Lamboo. Also worked with the Gordon family on boundary musters . They were/are well known and respected in the Kimberleys. Good luck Darrylin
