Camping out for the love of camping out: hiking, setting up camp, cutting and stacking wood, making a fire, cooking over the fire..what a great experience. Sitting warm and cozy in the tent, eating hot potato soup while outside the weather is nasty. What a cool experience. Good video.

@ 8th Jan 2020. Heart attack.
@ You too, chase those dreams.😊
Rip to this man for his outstanding and educational videos. One thing I noticed he was having trouble with was the draft coming in at the bottom of the tent. Lol Ive slept in many tent as a Infantryman in the Army and a way to stop air from coming into your tent is to put logs, rocks, dirt, anything around the top edges of the tent and this will not allow any air or wind to blow into your tent and it helps anchor it down and keeps water out also.

How do people dislike a camping video.. it’s peaceful. and gives others insight into stuff they did not know . No idea lmao
Yeah I agree, there shouldn’t even be a dislike button
Probably miserable people. I love these type of videos.
Some folks might be allergic to trees
Had the exact same thought.
Other than the brain deads that dislike every video, it could be possibly related to safety concerns. I enjoyed the video, but i don't like that his wood is next to the stove.
Thank you for your video. For a lot of inexperienced viewers out there, I think it’s hard to grasp how dangerous and hard this weather is. When you have temperatures hovering above and below freezing, it can be almost impossible to stay dry and warm. If anything gets wet, it stays wet and/or frozen unless you apply heat. There’s extreme risk of hypothermia if you’re not prepared. winter camping in colder weather is often safer, because it’s usually a “dry” snow. If you’re multi-day camping like this, having a tent/furnace combo like this is exponentially safer.
You're right. Temps around the freezing point with rain, sleet and snow are really hard to deal with. Water transfers heat 25 times faster than air. Things get wet and stay that way. Very cold conditions tend to be much drier. It's still possible for a person to sweat up their clothing by working too hard then get cold but it's easier to deal with than rain/sleet/snow around the freezing point.
RIP Megawoodswalker
A little detail that most people don't know, but will help to conserve your energy: saws only cut on the forward (downstroke) direction. So, push forward to cut, then lift the saw slightly on the back stroke You would be able to get through that wood in about four or five strokes and prevent the teeth of the saw from getting dulled on the backstroke. I know it's a small detail, but if you were in trouble it would help you. Good, relaxing video. Thanks
That’s a hacksaw you’re talking about. Silky saw cut on the pull stroke
Rest In Peace to this brother. Wonderful and organic video
Ahhhhhh, the feeling you get when you camp in a new place and arrive in the dark, then the next morning it looks like nothing you imagined all night.

This was mesmerizing; I loved it! I'm over 70 and a child of the city except for a few yrs roughing it on a MO farm, but I still love a wood fire.
Love that stove. I love camping in bad weather when there can be a good fire. But if it gets too wet for the fire it can get miserable real quick. This “indoor” fire would be a fantastic solution so long as enough wood is cut ahead of time. There is something very satisfying being warm and dry in the sleeping bag while hearing the weather outside the tent.
Takes allot to solo camp. Especially in harsh conditions . This man not only did it using a somewhat minimalist method but makes it looked freaking easy...we lost a rare breed

@@JP1NYC I have dozens of videos with me processing wood. I have processed firewood for hot tent camping maybe 15 years. Winter camped maybe 40 years now with ground fires. Getting older. LOL! I decide what's breakable with hands and feet based on the wood being processed. You don't get to decide for me because that's silly. Sometimes I do like here czcams.com/video/-275BUWLyKo/video.html but other times no. On a side note for a campfire (not woodstove) often I let the energy of the fire breakup the fuel for me or just push longer branches and logs into the fire.
