As a longtime Genesis fan who bought the actual vinyl albums and went to concerts in the band's heyday, I was moved to tears by the sheer precision and excellence of these fine musicians who are all obviously big fans of the band. That they were able to faifhfully reproduce the sound textures so well in a live setting is masterful. Not a single nuance was missed here. It would have been awesome to have been there to experience this live. Very well done, BRAVO!!!

Too young to catch any original early Genesis show, but I still hope to see TheWatch playing Genesis in my lifetime. A tour in Eastern Europe would fit my hopes. 🥺
Go see Steve Hackett live while you still can. The Watch are excellent and do a wonderful job but nobody can recreate Steve's solo!
@@NotSoNewby Ah, so it was Steve who played that part. I saw Steve play at Chelmsford a zillion years ago. Well before Nad Sylvan joined to do vocals. I honestly think these guys come closer than anyone to creating the atmosphere of the original, and sound better than Genesis with some of their covers.
My first Genesis concert was in this era. A great tribute performance here. Bringing live “Genesis” to a new audience.

As an old duffer who saw them in their prog heyday, I reckon these guys have just nailed it. Even improved on the original studio recordings, I think in two transitions - the first from the piano intro to when the band come in (which is clearly an edit in the original recording), and the second, coming out of the guitar solo into the final verse - which I've always felt sounded slightly awkward on Selling England. The keyboard player's piano intro is so nicely played too - even Steve Hackett's keyboard player, Roger King, could do no better.

Who would have played that guitar part around the six minute mark? I'm thinking it would have to have been Steve Hackett. I've seen Genesis live at Knebworth, but that was post Steve Hackett times. I've actually seen Steve Hackett live as well, and at Chelmsford of all places. A lot of years have gone by since those days, but my gut tells me no one has moved me with these songs as much as The Watch. There 'Fountain Of Salmacis' is absolutely on another level and hots me every time I watch the video. I live in New Zealand now, but I'd travel a ways to see them play live.

Świetnie, że ta muzyka 50 lat po powstaniu cały czas żyje i chcą ją grać coraz młodsi ( vide gitarzysta). Nota bene jemu jedynemu brakuje wyraźnie lekkości w wykonaniu solo ( trema? ). Ogólnie- brawo i szacunek dla mego ulubionego cover bandu !!!

I The Musical Box possono solo andare a nascondersi in confronto! Grandi e soprattutto appassionati, non come quelli...
The Musical Box apporte autre chose que la fabuleuse virtuosité de The Watch (+la voix incroyablement proche du Gabriel 71/75).
TMB recrée sur instruments d'époque la scénographie mise en place par le groupe, notamment éclairages, décors et tous les costumes et jeux de scène de Gabriel ce qui fut beaucoup à l'époque pour leur réputation scénique... Je viens de les voir à Paris (04/2024) pour la récréation de la tournée mythique de 1973, et c'était vraiment exceptionnel.... J'ai même été plus ému ce soir là qu'en voyant Steve Hackett rejouer Foxtrot l'année dernière (06/2023), concert pourtant extra... Mais TMB c'est LE Genesis live des années 71/75.. .
The Watch est exceptionnel pour la virtuosité de ses musiciens, cette récréation millimétrée des titres studios de Genesis, et la voix du chanteur participe à cet enchantement...
Mais ces deux excellents groupes jouent sur deux registres différents... L'un nous offre le Genesis studio, l'autre le Genesis live et les deux nous offrent de remonter le temps et de vivre une expérience exceptionnelle....
Nous sommes bien chanceux de pouvoir voir et écouter ces deux groupes dans leurs spécificités uniques.... Ils rendent la musique du Genesis qu'on aime totalement immortelle, Merci à eux....

Exceptionally good! I think Genesis never played it better.... only PG sings a bit better.
I like this band but at least in this performance I find the tempo dragging and the drummer just lacking dynamics in his playing.

Too bad the drummer is playing a different song. The rest of the band is brilliant. Timing could be tighter.
