We are back into the world CZcams with a brand new video where I talk you through one of my personal highlights of 2018.
Inside No.9 is a fantastic show that is truly worth a watch if you haven't already seen.
This was a live episode they performed over the month of Halloween last year. It's more of an event than an episode. Something that doesn't really work well if you watched it now. But that was the point. Which is why it's the perfect thing to cover here... Enjoy the live episode of Inside No.9...

After looking at the thumbnail for a while, I realized that it was actually a guy that they paid on the road to jump in front of the camera instead of a monster with really small eyes.

Same, especially emergency alerts and when I'm alone. I'll call my friends from time to time, and she plays the emergency alert over the phone many times. She thinks it is funny but it is terrifying for me.
Inside No 9 did this exact thing again last night with 3 by 3. They aired a gameshow rather than a No 9 episode, but in the last minute or so, everything went horribly wrong in a perfect No 9 twist. Loved it, even if I was sad about the lack of a bus episode.
Watching this live was SO fun. My Sister fell for the fake-out and stopped watching, I had to call her and make her tune back in so she didn't miss the good shit.
That was the first thing I thought “I’d be so shitty if I tuned out and then saw this the next day”

The creators of the live make good twists in their stories as this channel said
There’s coincidences such as audio ending at 9 mins, cutting to a show that has a 9, and even this video ending at 9 minutes
The creators were making a Halloween premier that tricked and freaked the audience really really good, they even posted something about it that made it seem like they had nothing on this it as a horror fan myself, the realization feels so cool

The big buildup of it all and the psychological horror induced as an intended episode “goes wrong” with the sound cutoff and fake broadcast is genius. Props to the people (and ghosts) who did this. The ghosts just wanted to chill but there was a theatre production built over thousands of dead bodies so the ghosts decided to take revenge by making the episode go horribly wrong
I was actually at the pantomime in kings theatre when the backdrop fell, and they played it off really well and did some impressive improvisation

@@DarkFruit I think you can still watch it on iPlayer. It's still definitely worth seeing, watching it after the fact doesn't detract from the experience that much, and there's a bunch of cool stuff in it that wasn't shown in this video.

I remember watching this. My parents almost turned it off but I convinced them to keep watching because I hadn’t see A Quiet Night In before, so glad that I did.
What about the opening night of BBC2? There was a power cut and they had to postpone it until the following night; the DG of the BBC was caught with an oily rag and a cigarette lighter crying "ruined! ruined!"

It's wonderful! It was composed and performed live as the episode was broadcast by Christian Henson who composes all the Inside No.9 music. He actually did a vlog here on CZcams about composing and performing the score to this episode live which you may enjoy. I really hope at some point he can release some of the music from this show

I just love stuff like this and local 58, that feeling of just watching TV and then something goes completely wrong behind the scenes and you're just there on the couch or on the bed witnessing it on the other end. It's terrifying.

Super smart on their part. Never heard of the show as I'm in the US, but brilliant.
You should give it a go! It's easily my favourite show. It's very similar to Black Mirror, as they're both anthology horror series, but I prefer No.9 for how the stories are normally about more human issues and relationships, rather than technology.

This channel actually is what introduced me to the show, like a year ago. I'm British but I don't watch normal TV (only streaming stuff instead) so I'd never heard of this, but he said it was similar to Black Mirror. Frankly it might even be better than black mirror. It's incredible. Every episode is a completely new story, and each of them has a twist at the end which recontextualises the entire episode so that you have to go back and watch it again, knowing what you know now, and it makes it even better. I recall implore everybody watch it. Some episodes are funny, some are quite sad and bittersweet. They know how to really tug at your heartstrings when they want to, which is impressive when each episode is only half an hour. Because of how good this show is I went and watched the show that made them (and Mark Gatiss) famous in the first place, The League of Gentleman, which is also great. I need to watch Psychoville now too as that's written by Shearsmith and Pembleton also, and is what they did between the league of gentlemen and Inside no 9
