I am waiting for the 2024 Model 3 refresh to purchase a Tesla. I want to swap out the standard wheel for the yoke at some point. Do you feel this second go at the yoke is better this time around and will you be sticking with it?
Nice video, I ordered the new s/x inspired steering wheel with heating function. How does that work? do we have to swap the circuit from the old round steering wheel?
I have a yoke and definitely love it. Will never go back to a round one.

Great review video. Hope to hear an update on your thoughts of the yoke after having it for a while. What are your thoughts on the Cybertruck steering wheel? I've been debating between that and the yoke. I'm leaning towards the CBT wheel. Also, I know you've said you're tall. Have you had a chance to see Atlas's new screen mount, names Atlas Plus? It's suppose to lower the screen less than the original.
One more concern. Is the heated feature of the new Hansshow yoke comparable to the OEM steering wheel? The OEM heated steering in the Model 3 is incredible. I’ve seen complaints about the older yokes.
Did you transfer anything from the old wheel to the new wheel? I just got this yoke and it doesn't appear to have the airbag release clip inside.

Could that be loctite on that bolt instead of rust? Just an idea
No because this is the 4th wheel I have put on and I didn't put any of that on there

Trick to keeping cooler with no A/C and don't want that noise. front right window open 3 inches, back left window open 2 inches... cross flow. Might still have noise pickup on the mic, see how it goes.
I think the thing holding me back is variable steering.
So in a ice/snow situation or skid .. I feel like that hand over hand thing might get gnarly.

How would you rate the first yoke you tried vs this model that is mocking the X/S?
this fixes my biggest complaint with the first yoke for the M3/Y which is, it sits a bit too low for my taste. I'd much rather have this one so it's not hitting my legs as much.
I want to get the white yoke, but I’m worried about it getting dingy with skin oil from my hands. Worried about cleaning the leather, will it hold up. I saw a photo of the previous yoke (not sure which manufacturer) where the white Napa surface was dissolving. I could wear driving gloves, but am I gonna be that guy?

The yoke definitely takes some getting used to. I have been driving a S plaid for about a year and a half now and I am used to it but it sure took quite a while and at times I am like seriously this is stupid :)

I installed my new yoke for my model y 2020 and now it’s showing steering wheel scroll buttons and horn unavailable. Service required to restore functionality. I did not disconnect the 12v battery when installing and I believe that’s why the error code popped up. Now my horn doesn’t work or the scroll wheels. Can you help!?
Look up Dad Toys video of the yoke install at Ted studios if you are still having trouble with this. You may need to move the internal components of your OEM wheel

As an FSD always driver, pull your sun visor out and extend it to cover the all-seeing eye. Then install your steering weight. Your almost hands free and for sure your going to go the furthest you've ever gone without a nag. I actually just keep my thumb and finger on the bottom corner, and it never nags. Drove from Seattle to Montana and back and I don't think I had a single nag. Also fell asleep in stop and go traffic coming up to the Columbia river and the car didn't even care. It was only 5 or 10 minutes in stop and go. In fact I think I heard the tesla saying hold my beer I've got this.
The yoke looks cool, buy it direct or handshaw; it just depends on how deep your pockets are. Install whichever level of pre-built you buy in just minutes. I watched an install video and did the job in 15 minutes. I have a great garage and tools and am a mechanic by trade, so if your say, an engineer or any other genius in the basket weaving degree zone, I can't imagine this being 30 to 45 minutes.
If you don't have a yoke your just normy/engineer type and probably ordered a white Tesla.
Tesla drivers really look hard when you roll by them on the road hands free with a yoke.
Also buy the shifter covers that match your paint color. It looks cool when parked. The car wash guys say I have the coolest Tesla they have seen around.
My wife thinks its a complete waste adding it but loves driving the car. Plus, she picked out an X with that option. Women!

Last thing, I bought some more Tesla crap previous night, and one thing I did get is that tiny trim piece on the steering wheel to match my shifter covers. The one going under the horn button to continue the theme.😂
Man I just don’t trust anyone but me making decisions in a car I’m in the drivers’ seat of. I don’t think I’ll ever use FSD.
You really should shutdown your Tesla and disconnect the 12V battery when doing things with the airbag in my opinion.
Like I said in the video this wasn't a detailed install. In the full install video with an old wheel I referenced I did and recommended that.
Looks good ok but for driving especially in a city it looks impractical.
I had to pay tesla $540 to fix the module steering wheel after I forgot to take the horn clip off or whatever it called. And I messed it up. I am scared to retry again to install the yoke now…..
Did you have to transfer over the internal guts of the wheel? Or are you referring to the power clip?
@@CfTesla before I pull off the steering wheel off you know there is 2 clips one for the airbag and the other one. I forgot that one and when I pulled off the wheel the steering module thing all came off. I had to order new one and took 5 for tech to come and replace it. But I am going to give it a try again. My M3 2018. So I had to change things from the steering wheel to the yoke…
Whats holding me back is

If the warrantee work you are having done has anything to do with the wheel then yes. That can mean anything to do with FSD or AP, it could mean sensors etc. Since this is not OEM Tesla cannot, in their words, accurately diagnose an AP problem with this wheel balance. For those willing to install them selves this is no issue just swap back out the wheel before you go into service. If you go into service they will tell you to go home and swap out the wheel and bring it back. No cons it is just a preference thing.

It’s just a modification or add on. The only point is to have a different driving experience.
@@CfTesla Cool, I always thought I wanted one, but honestly just love the standard wheel in my Y so much in terms of size, shape, comfort... I just wasn't sure if the yoke added anything to the drive experience.

You can accommodate the wheel nag by using your S3XY buttons.
I have them. But currently I am reviewing another product that uses the input plug. Good suggestion though.

You got some guts to pull the airbag plug without shutting your car down. Will be a horrible story if the airbag pops in your face.😢
Did you say "Al-Carda"? It's the material "Al-Can-Tara". And those weren't Allen Wrenches, that were Torq Wrenches. Also, "Airbag" the "bag" part is pronounced like "bat". And you can use AC, just on the lowest setting and the mic won't pick up the fan noise. Or better yet, cool your car prior to doing the recording, then turn it off or on low. You're welcome. :)
In all seriousness, good video. I would never get a Yoke, they're good for at the drag strip but not for on the streets.

@@Resist4 In his defense, he did say Allen keys or "something/whatever", so his "something/whatever" were the Torx wrenches which I also believe is the correct word you were looking for, originally. As for the yoke, I like that it doesn't block your view, but seeing people use it looks cumbersome being a big rectangle, in my opinion. However, I am glad there are companies selling a quality product, so you can easily install one if you wish.

Yokes are dangerous, unless you’re flying a plane. No car should have a yoke, they should be illegal.
