    Great tips! My Le Creuset pieces get plenty of use too. I thoroughly enjoy creating new recipes in them. I'm a fellow Air Force vet.

      HEY AIR FORCE!!!!!! Thank you for your service!!! Yes, I enjoy creating new recipes with them and all the different heating elements that can be used. During the summer I think I'll do a few videos using them on the grill!

    So true! Memories more valuable than the pot. My mother died 30 years and how I wish I had the old beat up cheap pot she used to fry chicken in. I do have cast iron pieces from my grandmother and paternal aunts. I love my cast iron but knowing they used them to feed their families makes it priceless. I was hoping you talked about the black enameled Le Creuset. Perhaps at another time. Do you shop at the outlets and have you ever attended Le Creuset table to farm sale.? I just learned about it. They occur in different cities throughout the year. I'm looking for when the next time they will be in a city near me. Just had one a couple of months ago. Blessings...

      Yes, the pots that are used and passed down mean so much more definitely! I will do a video on the Black satin enameled coating (my sister asked me about this as well). Thank you for the suggestion. There was a factory to table sale in Charlotte NC (about 3 hours from me) They choose one or two different cities per year. I wish we had an outlet, but I think the closet one may be in Charlotte or Virginia.

    Thank you for your in site! I was wondering if you know the difference between needing an oval vs a round Dutch oven?
    I wish I could cook with you! You are just a great soul, military mama here too and it’s hard.

      Hi and thank you for watching!!! Great question! I find many of those that have the oval dutch oven(depending on the size) use it quite a bit for large turkeys/chicken or large pots of chili and for serving large crowds. The round dutch oven is great for everyday use and it a lot easier to store. It also is great for baking, roasting, and soups. I think both styles are great but it all depends on what you would like to use it for.
      Thank you so much for your service (because we serve as well, lol) and thank you for your kind words. I wish I could cook with you all too, that would be so much fun!!!

    I love your real world down to earth suggestions. Thoughts re: the low wide dutch oven used as a braiser? . I just bought the 3qt braiser & 5qt regular dutch oven. Storage space is a bit tight & thinking the wide dutch oven can take the place of both. I have a 6qt & 8 qt stainless stock pots. Mainly I use my instant pot. Lol. Have a nice day. 😊

      Hi Judy! Thank you for subscribing! Hmmm the more I think about it the more the wide dutch oven is a good idea in terms of both braising and creating large sauces and soups, especially if storage space is an issue. It would definitely allow you maximum use without having so many pots on hand. Great idea!

    Hi,
    I just received the signature chef oven for Christmas and used it for roasting a chicken for Christmas dinner. You mentioned baking soda paste. How do you make it?

    • @karenandmaya8329
      @karenandmaya8329  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Hi There!! Yes it is so easy to make....depending on the size of the pot I add 1/2 cup of baking soda to a bowl, then I add water a teaspoon at a time stirring at the same time until it becomes a thick paste. Then I use coarse side of a sponge to get scrub it into the pan using hot water to rinse. I wish I could show you, LOL!

      @@karenandmaya8329 is this paste only for the enamel cast iron? Can it be used for the matte black cast iron or aliminum or steel pans? Thank you so much.

    • @karenandmaya8329

      @@nykka3 I use it for all pot surfaces that may have some sticky, stuck on residue. It is non abrasive and non toxic. (lots of allergies over here, lol) ...oh and if it is really stuck on I coat the inside of the pot with the baking soda paste and then add a tablespoon of vinegar and it lifts the grease and stuck on food right up. I hope this was helpful!

      I love thé matte navy. I plan to gift a pot in this color to my son who is setting up his first new apartment . Matte Navy is not “new” however. I gifted my nephew a 3 qt in Matte navy when he graduated college in 2020. I am confused how LC brings back older colors and labels them “new”
