He told me he's "everybody's best friend" but yet doesn't have many (any?) close friends. I feel like we're becoming friends, though it's difficult because there's 90 miles between us that makes casual, friendly get togethers impossible. Meanwhile, he knows I've been planning to move, but I wasn't sure where I wanted to be. I found a nice place 20 miles away from him. Even if things don't work out between us, I feel like I'll have a friend nearby. I'm afraid to tell him where I'm planning to move for fear of spooking him. I don't know if he's going to panic and think I'll expect to see him too much, or if he'll feel happy that seeing me will be much easier and more relaxed.
Tbh it doesnt have to be a big deal when you tell him just be like my lease is up or I sold my house and found a place in ____ and heâll know its relatively close to him but it doesnt really have to be a situation where youâre making it about being closer to him at least not on the surface :)
@@Sirade Thank you. I told him I was moving (didn't mention location) and he had a meltdown, terrified I'd expect "more" from him if I happened to move closer. It was a good thing though- we talked and realized we're still on the same page. As it turns out, I decided not to move to that area and chose a different city- so I'll be close enough to make it more convenient, but far enough for us to keep out space LOL Thanks for your reply.

@@Sirade He is highly protective of his space, as a Virgo lol. He once had a long distance relationship decide, without his agreement, to move closer and wanted/pushed for more than he could give. He panicked, worried I'd uproot my life "for him" and didn't want me to do that. He thought my only reason to move was to get closer to him, therefore expecting more. When he'd say it was a long drive to see me, I'd always joke around, saying "I'll move closer"- he thought I was serious because next thing he know, I was planning to move lol. It's all good though-- once we had that discussion, he relaxed and it's been really great.
