  • A quick video cleaning a carb from a 1991 Polaris Trail Boss 250 4x4. Many Mikuni carbs function in a similar fashion around this time frame even the 300 350 400 425 500 Polaris atvs and four wheelers from this time era.

    Super, my carb behaves like you have to open quiet a lot for it stays idle, if l starve fuel supply, engine racing up. l felt it runs on chock fuel. l ll follow your instruction to do a good cleaning.

    I'm having trouble too with 92 Polaris 350L, it would run really rough and shut off when using the throttle.I open the airbox and found mice had been living in there. I will take off carburetor and clean it like you suggested Thanks

      Sometimes mice get into the clutch cover as well. It may be a good idea to check that also.

    I have an 03 trailblazer with a similar carb. I just went through everything and cleaned it good, put it back together and it won’t start without adding gas straight into the carb. Once I get it started I have to keep it at high rpms to keep it running but as soon as I let off it dies out and won’t start again. Do you have any ideas?

      Make sure your not losing spark at no throttle. They have a switch in handle bar throttle box. If throttle cable breaks it kills the engine

    im having trouble with my 96 polaris explorer starting slow and always dying after the first start then taking forever to start again. eventually when it does start it runs great but recently its been dying at full open throttle. any advice? it has pretty low compression but im not convinced thats the only problem.

    • @BrapStuff
      @BrapStuff  Před 6 lety

      It's sounds as if there are multiple issues going on. If on cold starts using choke it starts then dies and is hard to start again that sounds to me that it's getting too rich and flooding out. I would try starting with choke, with out, and by squirting gas directly in the carb. See how that affects the start. As for wide open throttle having it die, I have seen plugged petcocks starve the carb. You may want to pull the fuel line and check the flow on and res from the petcock.

    • @BallisticVolts
      @BallisticVolts Před 6 lety

      It came off easiest for me with two tiny wrenches. The big nut seemed stuck until the little one was loose. That isn't how it works though. I was just not getting a good grip on the big one and think breaking the little one loose helped loosen the big one...

      I believe the part number for this carburetor is 3130424. It was used from 1991-1999 I believe. It would likely work on the trailblazer, but you may need to rejet for best performance.
