1. Less projects
2. Lower budgets.
3. Finished scripts.
4. Make good movies/shows first and foremost. Don’t concern with how it prepares a big event.
5. Hire talented directors and trust them. If you hired them for a reason then don’t overhaul their vision.
6. Play around with tone.
7. Going along with tone, stop trying to appeal to everyone because when you appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one. If you hone in your specific audience, then you should know to keep your budget modest. Ex: if you make a horror movie, then make a horror movie.
8. Get directors who care about the comics!
@@androidsenpai1462not necessarily. Some of the best directors of the MCU weren’t fans of the comics, yet they made great films.
@@trystanhind8475At least Directors who respect the comics regardless of being fans or not as they bring their to vision to these movies.
werewolf by night literally has all these qualities, no wonder it´s so good
You forgot to add 8. Fire Kevin Feige on this list.
If DC can be saved after the disaster that was the DCEU then Marvel can be saved.
No I wouldn’t say DC was “saved” Per se, but I get what you’re saying.
@@nicklatallade9344it's working on getting saved
Not, if Kevin Feige isn't fired.
@@trevturp6891 Feige ain't the problem Disney is
@@sahilmehta3703 Feige is the problem. He is just as much of the problem as Disney is. After Endgame came out, he was, unfortunately made President of Marvel Studios and he turned The MCU into The MS-he-U and ruined it's reputation.
Personally, I think Reed Richards should be the Tony Stark, and Peter could be captain America, and they could butt heads similar to the comics
🤨 I actually like this
Bro cooked. This is the best critique of the MCU I’ve seen and I like how you actually bring up ways to fix these issues instead of just ranting while offering no solution.
One writer not being into comics at first is fine. But that's way too many writers not being into comics working for the MCU. Lol.
Some of them said that Marvel Studios told them not to read any comics. It's a two-sided issue.
@@SecretMagicianthat was only once
They don't need to be into comics, but it should be part of the work to read it and use what is there. If they don't like that idea then they shouldn't get the job...
@@thadmaster7 one too much if you ask me.
@@SecretMagician one time is one time.
I’d even go further into the next saga with a core number of characters for each pillar of the MCU.
Spider-Man (Street and being the main character to bring all the different sections of characters together)
Captain America (Sam Wilson)- Avengers
Scott Summers (X-Men)
Reed Richards (Fantastic 4)
Captain Marvel (Cosmic)
Doctor Strange (Mystical)
“Supernatural” would be a better term for doctors stranges area. That word can apply to werewolf by night, ghost rider, blade, moonknight etc. some of which bleed into street level which is good. Blends the different sections together
I think marvel needs a new big 3 to carry the story again that's what made it 10x better
What if they use the og marvel trinity.
spiderman, wolverine and hulk
@@Playstationlad08 or Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Captain America

Pretty good. Critical without being hateful or obsessed with the type of actor being cast. It's obvious that Kevin F was stretched too thin and had no backup to ensure quality control for some projects. First: Make Good Movies is a great place to start.
Honestly, after X-Men 97, I'm investing more in the animation side of Marvel.
If I remember correctly, it was said that they'll cut down the amount of films and shows they'll make from this point onwards. And considering most of the stuff we've got so far with Phase 4 and 5 was during the Bob Chapek era of Disney, where they rushed out content, regardless of quality, I do have hope we'll get back to how things were with Phases 1, 2 and 3.
I think the next two years are gonna be the true make it or break it for the franchise, seeing as those projects had plenty of time in the oven.
Anything that was rushed out was given iger's approval before his sabbatical. The quality days are dead and gone.
@@thadmaster7yeah if they don’t do good on those movies and shows in 2025 and 2026, they can kiss marvel goodbye because after that, it’ll be absolute terminal brand damage. Marvel may end up like Star Wars is now
@@wolfo11 Buddy, Iger came back after phase 4 wrapped up with the guardians special.
Shang-chi should have been in strange 2 and maybe another one. He’s a good character who could be a Hawkeye type level avenger
What reason would he have to be in strange 2.?
@@mutalemwananshiku4098 idk, the rings are magical and Wong was already in the post credit scene. I’m sure they could’ve pieced together some type of story.
@@npwarr2651 the post credit more indicates the rings are from alien origins than magical and feel like setup for a shang-chi 2. The best place he could have shown up is onoy she-hulk for an episode.
@@mutalemwananshiku4098 yeah I mean, they would’ve had to change some things around and Doctor Strange to to make it work, I just don’t understand why they haven’t integrated and done a couple of more crossover shows with bigger characters.
Imo the pov character should be Read richards/FF
More Special Presentations would be nice hour long content that’s jump right to the story
I feel the special presentations are too short, they should be an hour and a half at least, instead of 40-50 minutes. Not enjoyable if it's too short.
If the point of the Multiverse Saga is to end in Secret Wars, then the main protagonist should be the Fantastic Four, with the New Avengers being a red herring.
Since the public already expects the next avengers to be the protagonist of this saga, Marvel could play with those expectations, making appear the New Avengers will be the protagonists of the Multiverse Saga, while the Fantastic Four could be just a secondary team, having their adventures on their side of the MCU (kind like what the Guardians of the Galaxy were in the pre-Endgame films), only to pull the rug out and the New Avengers being defeated by the main villain and have the Fantastic Four being the ones who will save the Multiverse.
Ps: Speaking on the New Avengers, I think the line up should be: Captain America (Sam Wilson), Captain Marvel, Hercules, Shang Chi, Shuri (Black Panther), Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) and White Vision
Thats actually not a bad idea.
Every franchise has its highs and lows it'll get better for Marvel eventually I'm still enjoying everything man
Agreed.
Ideally, the FF should have been introduced earlier and been the face of this multiverse saga.
I want Michael Giacchino to make a sequel to Werewolf by night or better yet a follow up movie based on the Legion of Monsters or Midnight Sons characters a movie based on those characters that gets theatrically released it'll be cool if it's a black and white movie that would be a cool experience in theater man
Yeah….i sort of see Iron man to Endgame being the main story with far and nowhere home as a sort of epilogue
Perfect take. Best critique and proposed fix of the marvel problem I’ve heard.
Wait, since iron man (2008) came out as the first MCU movie. Does that mean his the first MCU superhero to die?
Black Widow
I don't fully understand how you want the world to change, the world of marvel in this case. Yes, good character drama and story is what really these movies need but can you elaborate on the part about changing the world and moving it foward?
when he used Thanos as a example that just confused me.
@@jadenbryant9283 Sorry, I don't remember that part. Can you remind me?
Yeah i mean unlike the comics they didnt erase thanos wiping out half of all life and characters age and have endings. i was confused by that
Well he said after Avengers Endgame, it felt like the story was done but they need to work on a new story and build a new world
@@americanfreedomandworldpea6912 thats what thry have been doing with the post blip world.
Excellent video. I think Marvel’s early success came from making unique genre films with a superhero lead. Captain America is a war movie, the sequel was a thriller. GotG was a sci fi romp, Thor was a Shakespearean family drama. They need to rediscover the stories that made these great. And appointment filmmakers who understand that. I agree, there needs to be a trio of leads, and agree that Spider-Man should be one, but what it really lacks are leaders. They all feel like good fighters, but leaders? I don’t have an answer (save introducing FF), but I really hope they find their feet again. Meanwhile, excellent video. Keep ‘em coming!
From ny readings on marvel.
It's always been about smaller groups (x-men, fantastic 4, avengers, the defenders, the inhumans, and so on) and the vigilantes (spiderman, jhonny cage, daredevil, ghost rider, and so on) and how they deliver on the world as a whole.
The first era was mostly about the avengers (and in a small portion the guardians of the galaxy with a little help from wanda) and focusing on another group would be the target.
Fixing marvel is hard... and I'm more of a dc guy so... thats my take hehe 😅
I’d love to see a version of the Bendis New Avengers
- Doctor Strange
- Spider-Man
- Wolverine
- Luke Cage
- Iron Fist
- Ronan
- Echo
However considering Luke Cage and Iron Fist aren’t really MCU proper as of yet maybe have Sam Wilson (Captain America) replace him and Shang Chi replace Iron Fist and if Jeremy Renner doesn’t come back then maybe Kate Bishop or Yelena could replace him as Hawkeye/Ronan
Also Mitch, good job on the video buddy, you sound like you care without at all being hyperbolic or cynical. Passionate but not angry.
Hope Marvel really knows that you want the best for them like The rest of us.
12:00 Well, funny you should say that, as in the comics, Knull the god of the Symbiotes is an enemy of the Celestials.
The new trinity should be Captain America Cyclops and Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four
One way (which is not happening anytime soon but i hope for it to happen) is for Marvel to buy Spider-Man rights and make him the face/one of the faces of MCU
Sony won't sell. And he's had his trilogy as well as 2 avengers movies. The mcu needs to move on to its next arc. Best bet, move onto magic & monsters, blade, elsa bloodstone, werewolf by night, ghost rider, moon knight, man thing. Build an avengers monster hunters edition
Sony make way too much money from the spider-man brand, they wouldn’t unless they were in a REALLY bad state
I hope theres a bad state there to do the last resort. SURRENDER THE RIGHTS.@@NoVACorpsGaming
@@sandmaker47 I really need a Midnight Suns movie.
That's the things that's been getting me. They already laid out pieces for the different crossover teams, yet they haven't acted on any of them sooner.
@@sandmaker47Yeah they definitely could use the Midnight Suns as the R-rated supernatural/mystical horror side of the MCU.
Utilize characters such as Wong/Strange, Blade, Moon Knight, Black Knight, Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Agatha Harkness, Nightcrawler, Magik, Ghost Rider, Scarlet Witch, Nightmare, & Mephisto.
They also need the Heroes for Hire/Defenders aka street-level Avengers:
Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, & Echo
Mayor Kingpin would make a perfect big bad for that team in a gang war plot.
I’m really excited for Reed as well! Cyclops too! Though it would be cool if secret wars allows them to recast cap and iron man so they can interact with them and Wolverine etc…
the editing in the intro is top tier
i just want the next trio to follow through the next few phases. at the moment the only trio-worthy character i'm invested in is black panther and so far there is no news on a black panther 3. doctor strange is in the same boat where there is no news on when the next movie would be. as much as i enjoyed the marvels, captain marvel is too detached from earth for me to care about.
my first investment in the infinity saga were the avengers movies. i wish they'd release an avengers movie before kang and secret wars... just a team-up movie to save the earth and less universal shenanigans that involve the cosmic side of things. i don't need the next avengers movie to be better than endgame, i'm honestly not expecting it to. what the mcu needs right now is a soft reset to get the movies back on track and then build up to those universal level threats we've experienced with infinity war and endgame.

If I was in charge of, my plan would be:
1-Make endgame the true end of the MCU
2-take a five-year long break
3-During that break, search comic-book writers and filmmakers who are actual comic-book fans, NOT Rick and Morty writers, who could be seen as trustworthy and up for the task
4- Make an entirely new storyline for the people producing the movies and series to follow. Yes, I'm talking about rebooting the MCU.
4- Give Disney the finger
As a life long superhero comic film fan who is now in the middle of writing an original superhero short film based on a mixture of themes from the X-Men, Spider-Man, & Watchmen, this video has made me realize that an important element for modern day superhero filmmaking (arguably established by the MCU) is intention.
I feel most recent superhero films have failed overall due to the right intention or lack there of to create these stories.
17:50 Yesss! Yes! Yes! X-Men 2 is coming!
looove watching your video essay's!!
1) Less projects - Let the movies deal with important stuff for multiverse Saga, while the TV shows could have more isolated projects or some small sagas involving others places from the MCU (kind like what Netflix did with the street level heroes like Daredevil and the Defenders).
2) Not hold on too much on the jokes. I don't think they are terrible, but the problem with the MCU comedy post- Endgame is the fact the films either repeat the same jokes or just hold on to them for too long, that makes the comedy goes from fun to just annoying.
3) Variety of tones and styles - After films like The Batman and Gunn's DCU projects (like Suicide Squad and Peacemaker) it's pretty clear that the public has already moved on from Marvel traditional style. The know their troopes that makes the films feel bit repetive and tiring. Marvel needs to make films more like Civil War, Infinity War, the GoG sequels or NWH (all films that have stakes, consequences and big impacts for the characters and the larger universe), that play with the people knowloge of tone and subvert their expectations.
4) Less world ending threats - Not every super hero films needs to have the hero saving the world or multiverse. Sometimes it's cool to see them dealing with small but still significant problems. The last great MCU film, GoG vol 3 was basically the Guardians just trying to save Rocket's life and evolve in them saving the prisioners of the High Evolutionary. The focus was on the heroes being heroes and saving lifes then punching bad guys and blowing stuff. Let's have a bit more of stakes like these.
5) Have an actual plan - Every since phase 4 begun it feels like Marvel hadn't idea of what direction to take after the big blockbuster that was endgame. Some project feel like they are trying to make things more isolated and not build to anything yet (natural move and allows their films to have a rest) but other feels like they want to rush to another epic film like Endgame. The fact their next Avengers film would be a two parter without even establishing who the new avengers will be it's sign of bad planning. Better slow down, breath, establish who the main characters are and then figure how to lead this films to Secret Wars.
2. Aside from thor 4, quantumania and she-hulk i dont think they go overboard with the jokes.
3. Gunn dceu projects and the batman arent in the same universe. the suicide squad also bombed. the batman did well but wasnt a dark knight hit.
4. Black widow, shang-chi, thor 4 and strange 2, hawkeye, wandavision didnt have world ending threats.
5. I dont think them having avengers 5 and 6 be a 2 parter is a sign of bad planning because those are in phase 6 and im sure by the end of phase 5 we will get a clear idea of the new avengers.
hey great video, greetings from brazil 🇧🇷
Good video. I do understand your criticisms and concerns with the MCU. I do believe they should slow down and focus on character story telling. For me I still enjoy the content we have gotten. Is it perfect? No, but I appreciate the ideas and concepts of them. Some may not be perfect, but I can find enjoyment with them. I understand your points and enjoy the video
We're hitting a payoff era now thought. Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts, and Young Avengers ties together a LOT of characters and setup from otherwise disconnected stories
Wow this has epic edits!
At the end of the day, it all comes down to hiring competent and passionate people for these projects who will not only respect the source material, but also actively push for a quality and well written story while humbly presenting it to the audience (WITHOUT having to talk down on them, or blame the audience for their flops & failures).
If Marvel, or heck, even any other studio doesn't realize this... Then Hollywood, and the MCU included, is still truly bleeding dry. After all, no one's trying to heal or stop the bleeding. Everyone's just trying to "justify" why it is without trying to solve it.
I couldn't agree more - Marvel has to show audiences that they care and acknowledge the comic book material they're adapting. I also found your review on the Spectacular Spider-Man series to be one of my favourite videos on your channel, being a fan of the show myself.
General audiences dont care about comics only comic book fans do.
Hulk vs Wolverine, X-Men in general, the answers are there they just have to pull it off properly.
I think a cool idea would be what if you had to restructure the Marvel cinematic universe, But Marvel never sold the movie rights. How much would that change the cinematic universe?
Seems like the MCU took a page from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. (or two).
I love marvel but I see the mcu as it's own beast . The only other mcu project I'm planning to see after endgame is deadpool 3.
I think Marvel should hire good directors and just let them do their thing. Make the stories based on characters instead of just big action scenes and quips. I hope we can get movies on the level of Raimi Spider-Man, Black Panther or Iron Man again. I love Marvel and to see their movies and shows disinterest me further and further is just hard. I love these characters but they’re just not being put in interesting situations or having their perceptions and morals challenged. Hopefully Marvel can sort this out.
Destin daniel cretton, chloe zhao, ryan coogler, james gunn were good directors and they brough sam raimi for doctor strange 2. Also not all the shows and movies were about quips and actions.
Love to see your idea for the new dcu Batman
Awesome points but I’m more invested in Wanda and would want the linchpin to be Wanda !
Great video
Spiderman a recast black panther when chad died and Dr strange before they kept dumping on him every change they had. What should have been the next trio.
Shuri was great so im fine with them not recasting.
I think recasting Chad would have been too disrespectful. But I agree, Disney kept messing around with Doctor Strange 2 which was okay but just didn't feel it was very good (Disney did not like the violence planned in the movie, they changed the red blood to black)
@@americanfreedomandworldpea6912 what red blood.
@@mutalemwananshiku4098 Wanda Maximoff was originally supposed to have blood splattered on her face, Disney felt it was too violent so they change the blood to black blood from the robot blood splatters (and they changed directors)
Now this is a critique!
No grifting nonsense, no tacky Clickbait, no annoying reactionary nonsense, and for one, I agree.
As a fan of the verse, (certain flaws and all), it's a treat to see marvel make stuff with their imperfected characters that built up to the Avengers and make something of them special as they could.
But the problem with success, is that they got a bit too big for their own good, especially with the announcement of Disney plus, I knew there was going to be blowback with the shows there, like say what you want about Marvel Television under marvel entertainment, at least things there was more tight knit and concise, for good and bad, they worked with AOS doing their own thing and with better effects and cg (it helps because they're trying to create a tv show and not make every ep into a movie, and they delay eps if certain effects aren't completed, same with the other ones like the netflix stuff)
I do believe that the mistakes and fallbacks and with the strike, and the unduccessful disney box offices of last year, will make for good change, since marvel has 4 branches to wirk with that could tie together.
Such as Marvel Studios for films and only films, Marvel special presentations for hour long specials, marvel spotlight for more of their grounded, darker heroes, and animation/Television for their animated forays thanks to the successes of X-Men 97.
Agreed most definitely.
Also, it helps for good movies if they stop hiring fucking comedy directors to helm their stuff (Favreau is an exception and maybe the Russos), and hire directors that have a good balance of light and dark.
Also get more special effect based directors as well so we can have better to decent CG , like Gareth Edward's, say what you will about his stuff, but knows how to direct good action and knows how to stretch a small budget which leads to this.
Stop spending blockbuster amounts of money for a single product, especially when it'll fail, creative people can do less with under $100 million and much lower since stuff like Godzilla minus one and Shin Kamen rider ware considering one in the best for doing good with less (same Dir. Takeshi Yamazaki), and the director won the Oscar for best visual effects, and if he won for that with the reduced budget, then bigger studios have no excuse.
Furthermore, render Secret Invasion non-canon, retcon it so its like a poorly written fan-fic that existed in verse, or a shoddy simulation, or a bad dream because with what's happening there and The Marvels doesn't add up well.
Honestly marvel should just take a break and focus on quality over quantity in my opinion.
They are
Which is what they are doing. How many marvel movies is coming out this year?
@@gabrielruiz219 I think only one
There's nothing wrong with quantity, they just need to make it good. And they need to stop having deadlines which makes the film makers rush, especially the CGI artists.

Still looking forward to fantastic four, daredevil born again, and captain America 4.

Another reason the MCU is so off the Mark is because none of the heroes are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Besides Peter Parker and Loki. Do you think they would lay it all on the line? - Luke
I know that this is a lot to ask, but I would love to see your plan for the MCU moving forward.
i.e. What should they scrap, what specific stories would you tell beyond what is planned
Now I want to see you're mcu multiverse saga. What if you did phases 4,5,6. Just like the dcu. Would be great.
Cool video
It's simple the way Marvel can get myself and others to care about the MCU again is for them to start caring again themselves
They have made projects that show they care like wandavision, loki, moon knight, echo, wakanda forever, guardians vol 3.
Make good movies. IMO they should just give the directors creative control so we can atleast get unique projects even if they end up being just “ok”
They gave creative control to directors like zhao, waititi amd dacosta but people didnt love them. They also gave control to raimi, coogler, gunn and shortland.

Curious about ur thoughts on the exciting new Fantastic Four?
Age of Ultron, watched only for philosophy and the after party scene lol

Shang-chi could have been a part of the new 3
Marvel just needs to make good movies again that’s how you get people to care again. While we all are fans of these heroes we want to see them being portrayed in good movies where we can explore the character and challenge their ideals and beliefs. Go through arcs that are satisfying because they were written well with care.
So Reed Richards could be the "new" Iron Man, as a super intelligent guy who can find many solutions and push things foward? 🤔 It's obvious 🤯 Love this idea! 😃
This video really made me wish Spider-Man's film IP wasn't owned by Sony.
Someone send to this to Marvel!!!
First there was the pandemic and Victoria alonso and Bob Chapek rush everything and screwing everything up that what wrong so Bob Chapek basically saying I don't if done or not put it Disney+
I hate that Marvel keeps connecting Characters with one another like we get it their in the same universe but that doesn’t mean you have to blend Spider-Man with fantastic 4
I get what you're saying but that was a poor example, Spider-Mans very first team up ever was with the Fantastic Four and has since gone one as a surrogate son of the family. He probably has a closer relationship with them than any other hero.
Someone send this to marvel!
when will you make a good hulk movie and a good ghost rider movie?
Just want to say. Any Canadian Would say Lets F@$king go eh. If they where talking to some one or out loud. Ryan, Fudged it up.
You can't pass the series to Miles he is still own by Sony that means your still splitting box office with Sony. You need to bring up Kamala in the time that Peter would be leading the universe. But maybe do it in 5 years or you start using America Chavez so in 20 years you can have her die in a new reboot world and you can bring back your old ip so you can keep using what you paid for.
At least the MCU is in better shape than the DCEU or DCU.
The DCU hasn't even started yet. 💀
@@YourEverydayNerdOG Exactly, and the first movie or TV show won’t necessarily guarantee success, it will have to take its time to get us really interested in they’re future.

@@YourEverydayNerdOG Because it's not a matter of prejudging it, it's just the truth. DC brand in terms of public perception is straight up in the shitter as of this moment in time.
Yeah the DCU is still in it's early development and news has been positive with it, but after the DCEU and basically everything about the previous regime before Gunn has come along, they've got a lot of groundwork to lay than Marvel does right now.
Disney has to sell the Marvel IP, as long as they're in charge the MCU will just be ass with corporate agenda. The DCEU lost the battle but won the war, they didn't sell out
Nah I think they can very much get Deadpool right. Truthfully and honestly I’d put him in the marvel trinity
The MCU had twenty movies to have Iron Man use the Proton Cannon and fumbled it. The MCU doesnt deserve to be saved.
To be fair to the writers of Shang-Chi, those particular comics weren't particularly "culturally sensitive", if you get my meaning (they had literal Fu Manchu, for chrissakes), so I'll give them some leeway for not reading or taking any influence from them at all.
complettttely agreee there man, was wise not to be pulling from those.
Spiderman? No, the correct way to save MCu is good stories, not a mere character, even the greatest characters can be disaster if the stories is bad,
IF JAMES GUNN DCEU OUTDONES MARVEL THEN THIS WILL BE JUST WOW
How to save Marvel
1 built a little set up and bigger hype for secret wars
2 just title the movie secret wars and not avengers secret wars
3 have it be two part multiversal level event with combination of both versions from comics
4 after secret wars let the MCU continue only through Tom Holland's
5 soft reboot concept is bad. If Marvel wants a new cinematic universe then do a new one from the scratch with completely new actors in the role and new storyline with a new visionary and not Kevin feige or the best option would be to do elseworlds and bring something new to the Marvel brand with talented and visionary directors
What makes u think marvel wants a new cinematic universe. who would this new visionary be?
@@mutalemwananshiku4098 It needs a new universe cause MCU can't be continued long or it will become very problematic for the audience and the brand and the new visionary can be anyone from Hollywood
@@kaustubhpalkar792 but not many visionaries have been able to create what marvel has. It would need to be someome that is passionate about this and be willing to commit to this.

As much i would love to see spider-man be face of the mcu lets be real sony not letting that happen
but fantastic four or the x men can be that when they interrduce doom have be a villain in secret but a big villain until later on after secret war where get a movie about his relationship with Reed how the once was friends to turn emeys
have the fantastic four being more the cosmic side with the mcu with characters they run into like sliver surfer and galtaus while running into the guardians for one time
Have them be grounded by focusing on them being a family interacting with other heroes on earth and becoming friends seeing human touch and spider-man hangout with each other would be cool having ben grim be a street hero would be dope and reed being the big brain that replace tony as the smart
Sue being the wife and sister bring the family together while also letting her and reed have kids and them trying to deal with that also
As for for the x men they can do with what work while in fox movies mixing it with the 90s series and 97 while also having thier own spin although having the Professor x and Magnito argue will just be shallow snice it been a lot while also not having it would just be weird so I hope mangnito be a background villain until later on and have the public love them at first but solwy start to hate and Despise them later on
I think the problem is the execs at Disney. Just like how the execs at Warner Bros ruined the DCEU by making decisions based on what they think is right. The execs are very out of touch and have little knowledge of what makes a good film. Just let the film makers do their jobs and not interfere. Also, I don't think everything always has to connect, it could sometimes ruin the movie.
Dude are you finntastic?
I... Am... Marvel Jesus
You, like many, do not note one thing from the main topic. Whether out of resentment or something else, most essayists forget to say that product quality doesn’t come out of thin air. We need worthwhile writers, directors and others with real talents and skills, and not based on quotas of race, genders and other politic garbage that is now drowning Hollywood as a whole, and not just the MCU.
So there are points i agree with but others im baffled.
The 1st point about the movies not looking cinematic enough is weird cause projects like eternals, loki, wandavision, doctor strange 2, wakanda forever, guardians of the galaxy vol 3, ms marvel, moon knight, falcon and winter soldier looking more cinematic than projects in phase 2 and 3.
The second point is cheap hunor because aside from love and thunder, quantumania and she-hulk none of the other projects have the humor problem. Shang-chi has one moment of innapropriate humor and thats it same with doctor strange 2. The only reason marvel went the comedic route with thor is because people found the character boring.
also aside from maybe strange i havent felt any character post endgame is trying to do a tony stark.
Im not sure why you posted that video of the writers saying they werent comic book readers is a problem because projects like wandavision and shang-chi were well received. aside from bringing up spidey being a street level character u never bring up any of the other phase 4 and 5 projects changing from the comics being an issue. marvel was always willing to change from the comics in phases 1-3 and they were successful
I also sincerly dont get the issue with the aladna sequence in a universe with a talking raccoon, a talking tree, a giant green man, a god with a magic hammer, a giant purple alien with all powerful stones what is jarring about a singing planet. it wouldnt feel out of place in a guardians movie. You comolain that movies feel the same but with the aladna sequence your complaining it doesnt feel like it fits in the universe? Which is it
I also find it strange u claim marvel isnt taking risks yet thats what they tried to do with eternals but not many people cared for it.
Its also strange u complain these movies need to changr but also complain they need to feel the way use to? Which is it.
Finally marvel is trying to make changes with them slowing down the projects they are making and overhauling the way they are making tv shows. so they are trying.
The Avengers saved earth from aliens, so it should have stayed on earth. Rebuilding the MCU again the same way that worked before. Starting on the ground, ending in the stars.
It’s sad that Deadpool and Spiderman are being looked to save the MCU. Sam Wilson Captain America lacks inspiration, when he should be the face. If his new film is trash it shows that Disney doesn’t understand these characters. Spider-Man isn’t supposed to lead the avengers, just let him stay street level and stick to his own guns. Daredevil, Spidey, Deadpool, and moonknight don’t need to be main avengers.
Well brave new world is the movie that will make sam more of the lead and they still have shuri, loki, shang-chi.
Ill always love marvel and dc but they can frustrate you for sure, but that is just what comes with being a fan of something , sometimes its gonna make you happy and sometimes its gonna absolutely piss you off. Marvel to me isnt a death brand of franchise , they can always get back up but just in terms of their big screen movie universe right now its lackluster, but the movies being bad wont make me not a fan of marvel anymore, just a dull period
How to save Marvel Studios: sell it to someone who cares
Well personally I would shut down Sony Pictures permanently.
