6:00 - ah yes, the big aquarium, also known as the sea.
But there's no sea between Stormwind and Ironforge.
TECHNICALLY... Blizz was initially going to have the Deeprun Tram run between Stormwind and Darnassus, but then they switched it to Ironforge. Mostly because the Nightelves signed a petition to not have an ugly subway tunnel dug in their tree.
What Shadowhawk said. On the minimap the tram runs east to west, instead of south to north.
There is a bay in between, not really the open sea but still water.

The forgotten - The old boat from Menethil Harbor to Auberdine. Boats still run from Menethil to Theramore and Howling Fjord.
The highest capacity - The Wandering Isle. All monks can now visit it as their class hall.
The least functional - The Exodar.
Considered adding elevators but they're not really public transport I guess. Pointless Top 10 Elevators next?
The elevators idea is great :) Hope he does it lol.. I wonder if he will include the one at the old barrens/1000 needles that doesn't work anymore (if he makes 1).
Elevator is a mythic boss not a transportation...
Exodar is functional lore wise.
Yes, yes it is... but it still is 1/2 the way in the ground... should be interesting to see how big the crater is when they take off again xD
I wish it would get involved in legion. Just have the exodar fly in during the final raid and fuck the legion up. Doubt they would bother to update an entire city though.

Atleast it's not what happens to me, i sometimes (though rarely) get instance failed to load messages when taking flight paths across zone borders. . .Which dismounts you from the flight path so you then fall to your death. Last time it happened was as Horde and i landed in Elwyn Forest. Had to hearthstone back to orgrimmar then take the Zepplin all the way back to Brill

I can't believe you didn't include the ulduar tram. Now THAT is the most pointless transportation system in WoW, simply because everyone just uses the teleportation pad outside the grove to get to Mimiron. Seriously, how many people even remember that the ulduar tram exists?
Actually even though the teleporter is there everytime I go to ulduar I use the damn tram. Mainly because I just love the tram ride into mimirons room. Just such a cool way to introduce an area. Honestly everything in Ulduar architecturally is quite nice to look at due to the large scale of everything.
but!
The train is maybe pointless because of the teleporter. But in every pointless thing lies a treasure. And that is the cool ride with the train. Btw: Ulduar best raid :D

Oh yeah the deeprun tram! I remember jumping off to get a better view of the water, and having to walk the whole distance without a mount. That took SO long

Most important zeppelin to me has always been the one that takes you from Orgrimmar to Brill/UC and back. My first ever character was an undead and I always enjoyed the undead starting zone the most, which is why I took that zeppelin many times to visit Orgrimmar and get back.
To me the best boat ride at the time was the Alliance boat from Menethil Harbour to Howling Fjord in wotlk, it was such an amazing introduction to the continent of Northrend, the way you navigate through the canyon only to find yourself self overshadowed by Utgarde Keep. I remember bouncing in my seat the first time I saw it know that I had a whole expansion ahead of me.
I thought I'd see the wagons in the silverpine forest here somewhere
Or the rocketway in Azshara
or the elevator in the Grizzley Hilles
The zeppelin in #7 is called the Lady Lug. It's name was revealed in the novel WarCrimes
It is actually part of a quest on Alliance side as well.

lol the STV zep... Yeah I remember making a forsaken way back when, seeing the cool transports on the tower, hopping on one just to see where it went and.... regretting it when I saw everything was level SKULL. STV was what, in the 40-ish range back then? A good place for a level 6 rogue to be. But that was my first ever trip to the Vale, so... Yay? lol I think I went to take the zeppelin back home, and didn't realize there were TWO of them, so I ended up in Durotar. I had no idea how to get back to Tirisfal back then, being a dumb noob, so I was totally lost. Think I deleted the character because of that lol
That kinda happens to me too when I swam as a troll and fatigued to death and somehow ended up in a random island, don't know what I should do so I went on random boats until I was completely lost, then realized that I have hearthstone in my bag and used it just before I was about to creat a new character and start over :)
i remember i was trying to take a zeppelin to orgrimar to grom'gol since i had gone there by accident but then i took the one to uc instead and at first i thought about how i was gonna go back but then i looked and saw doom lord kha'zix invading uc and i was lucky that i did since i got to see that battle for the first time and had no idea something like that could happen

Easily the best most memorable public transportation system in WoW. Despite liking Horde more than Alliance I still go to that boat on my alliance character just for the experience.

oh yeah ... The Brawlers Guild, where I enjoy going to watch the battles though I will never get in the arena myself. I just cheer on the players. OMG, I not only broke the 1st rule, I gave away the location too. I am doomed!
Alas can't do that at the moment - it has been shut down, in theory while the first few weeks of Legion are out, and then reopen later on

That zeppelin that flies around in Howling Fjord over the pirates ships is for a quest. You run it once and then it becomes a daily to bomb the pirate ships below it.

I became well-acquainted with The Orb of Translocation linking The Ruins of Lordaeron (the area above the Undercity) and Silvermoon City, as well as The Thundercaller, the zeppelin linking Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades (the area near the Undercity).
...so I'ld choose those as my favourites. Mostly The Thundercaller.

He did benches. I think it was when he was in London, but he did do a vid with a list of benches. XD
What about the Alliance boat to Valgarde in Northrend?? That was one of the biggest moments for fans when they first came to Howling Fjord and Northrend. People still talk about it to this day. Sailing through the fjord eventually to that opening with Utgarde Keep scaling above you. It was an amazing vista, it's still great today! How did it not make the list?
the deeprun tram was so awesome to find out about as a horde only player.
The thing that's cool about the deep run tram and the zeppelin that goes from thunder bluff to orgrimmar is that there is no loading screen, so while you're travelling on it, it really gives you a scope of how big the world really is because it takes so long.
Another great "Pointless" video. As a long time Alliance-only player, it was nice to see the Deep-Run Tram at number 1. With flying now and portals to just about anywhere so abundant, it's become largely outdated. But I still take it from time to time just for the sights and nostalgia back to a time when it was considered optimal. Keep up the great work Crendor!
Fun Fact: One of my earliest WoW memories is of a Night Elf Druid. I was told to take a ship to Stormwind but I misread the quest as take a ship _from_ Stormwind, and thus ended up on The Kracken, figuring that was what they meant. I ended up looking around Northrend for a while before finding an iceberg in the ocean, and so out of curiosity I swam over to it and hung out with a bunch of penguins until I accidentally hit one with a spell and it killed me.
And that's how my Level 8 N.Elf druid died to a level 1 Penguin critter.
Pointless Top 10's are the best top tens.
My first main was before BC, so I've experienced plenty of my life riding the Horde zeppelins back and forth between EK and Kalimdor, and after playing on both factions, it's always been so much easier to get around on a Horde character than Alliance.
Blew my mind that the ships and zeppelins now have proper looks. Back when I played they all looked the same and didn't have NPCs on them.
also you forgot to mention how pretty much everybody has thought "i wonder what will happen if i jump off the deep run tram" and ended up getting stuck in the middle and having to take a long ass walk back
You forgot Northspear. The ship that goes from Menethil to Valgarde and passes through the big canyon with the burning ship in it.
One of my favorite public...Er...Private forms of transportation is the LMS Mark II (the tram) from Ulduar. I mean, most people skip it by teleporting straight to the Spark of Imagination but its really pretty when you do take it. Also its really easy to die from if you aren't paying attention when it flips around so it can take you back to the start. Mostly because it puts up an invisible wall on the platform you step onto meaning that you can't jump while its flipping without dying. I know, I've tried.
People will probably already have mentioned it, but the zeppelin at number seven is part of an alliance daily that involves bombing the pirate ships you mentioned.

The boat from Menethil to Howling Fjord is one of the most scenic rides you could take on a boat, I know you don't play much Alliance but I'm still surprised it didn't make it on the list anywhere.
The #7 Zeppelin is actually for a quest. Alliance characters can pick up a daily quest from the fort where they are given some bombs. The Zeppelin then makes a tour of the bay and you're supposed to drop them on the pirates below :)
Back in Wrath this was a really fun quest and one for the few that didn't feel like a chore to do. Not sure if it's still there, I should probably head back there and check..

That Howling Fjord Zepplin is for an Alliance quest. You go out and do a bombing run of those pirate ships in the bay.
The Zeppelin in the Howling Fjord has some of the best music, too.

I think that entering Northrend by this boat was one of the best ways to show players, that they are starting great and beautiful advanture.

As much as I never going into WoW the Public transportation is so cool. You jump on it you are with other people sometimes you talk with them on the ride. That stuff like that makes games feel alive.
Also the tram is cool I took it then feel off it on my free account.
I used to RP with a few other people on the Zephyr as a worker because it didn't have a loading screen. It was pretty fun

of the more nostalgic ones. I remember when I took STV Zep back in the Lich King times with my lvl 9 Troll Shaman. Came there, died to Saltwater Crocolisk and for the first time ever saw the Skull instead of the lvl number. Those were the days man. 😄
How can you not include the Azshara rocketway?! Not only is it incredibly pointless, there's even an achievement for riding it!

I'm slightly sad you took the kraken over the one from Menethil to Howling Fjord. Yes, it's not as convenient as travelling from Stormwind, but the view you get while going through the fjord itself and the burning shipwreck hanging above makes the way to Menethil way worth it.

I'd just like to say, when I started this video, I realized I didn't have my headphones in, so I paused the video, and subconsciously while I was putting them in, I recited out loud "Hello everyone and welcome to another pointless top 10 where we make a top 10 list out of pointless things. Why are we flying past this pointless statue in booty bay? Because inside pointless things are treasure. Let's begin!" and then tapped play.
#7 is an alliance quest. They commandeered the Zeppelin and use it to bomb the pirates below.

#7 was actually implemented for an Alliance daily quest in which you had to shoot down the pirates in those ships.
My boring honourable mention: The Orb of Translocation between Silvermoon and Undercity. Simple, but functional (with the added bonus of being instant).
The Deeprun Tram used to be a good challenge if you were Horde. Attack SW and then try and make it to IF via the tram without dying.
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this here yet, but The Maiden's Fancy was named for a location in Everquest. Just a little shoutout. :)
#10, the boat between Darnassus and Exodar is indeed quite pointless since there is a two-way portal between Darnassus and Exodar in the cities themselves. As for #7, the Zep that flies around Howling Fjord... as Horde, that's why you don't understand... that's an Alliance DAILY QUEST... if you're horde you can't see the quest, but that's a daily Alliance quest.

I did the same thing for the stranglethorn-org zep... level 12 undead warrior had no idea what i was doing, thought it looked amazing, and then i died to raptors and decided to go home (hearthed)
Shame that the silverpine wagons with the ettins aren't here. Also, you forgot to mention that the tram has the Alliance's fight club in it!

The howling Fjord Zeppelin in the alliance base, that goes in a small circle, is just there for a small repeteable quest to bomb down a bunch of pirates in the shipes below. To be honest the quest itself, just as the zeppelin are pretty pointless, it should have been number 1 !
Time for some doors-gates pointless top 10. Even from instances like karazhan's entrance that has another door inside :P
