Losing hope for this season, it’s not looking like we have a good run game and I know we don’t have a throwing game. With this schedule, we’ll be lucky to make 500. Mystified at the off season decisions to do essentially nothing at pass catcher. Parker was never a WR1 “deep threat” even out of the draft in Miami. They paid an old Smith-Schuster. Thorton will never not be injured. They never overpay for top receivers, yet they will over pay for mediocre ones. When they draft high for receiver and it doesn’t work out, they keep them around for years trying to make it work. Kraft needs Bill to hand over offensive drafting to someone else.
Douglas is really good gotta get him move involved and get boutte more involved but next year they gotta get Mac a true WR1 and Oline. If we can get Tyquan back and healthy him and Douglas speed should really help but he’s gotta stay healthy
totally agree, except i already lost hope; if this is what a win looks like against one of the worst teams in nfl, i wont watch them again until bb has retired; jets totally inept with a 2nd string qb but pats give them at least three chances in last 5 mins and cant close out the game - horrible for any brady fan to watch
That's because receivers will only come to NE after they have exhausted all other options and have no choice, which is usually when they are way past their primes, and Belichick still has to overpay for them

Nobody mentions the bogus dpi against Douglas twice once of which should have put us in scoring position and then Mac getting slammed to the ground after the play was already over. If Tyquan can come back and stay healthy his and Douglas speed would help big time
Looking at this offense makes miss tyquan so much more. For as bad as he was this training camp we sure could use that 4 28 speed right about now. I almost forgot he was on the team 😂 please we need some speed.
Same thing happened last year, we had to wait for him to get off ir, and when he did, he was almost non existent, well I guess he had a few bright spots but not what we needed, although that could have been due to the Play calling last year, maybe O'Brien can scheme some shit up with him, actually now that I think about it he can probably help a lot with a good OC, even if he isn't directly making the play teams still have to respect his speed so that can open things up for other skill guys, but bottom line is we have to wait...cause he is always hurt
@ChristopherEaton-dx2zj Yea I think it changes how the defense plays us for sure. Not expecting alot but I think Billy O could use him like Will Fuller. We need speed in general though.
tyquan thornton isn't an nfl player, he's fast but fragile and easily injured, so nothing to miss; now de andre hopkins we missed, he's what is commonly referred to as wr1 and was there for the asking - just pay the man his worth; we also missed jakobi meyers a solid slot wr2/3 who mac trusted but he was shipped out since he had the temerity to question the wisdom of installing matt patricia as OC; bourne and douglas are ok as wr3/4 if we had those guys; thornton, parker and juju should never have been taken on

Refs missed that PI near the goal line that should have been obvious, that would have been 7. Then no call unsportsmanlike tackling Mac after whistle would have been 1st down.
Maybe if they would give Mac a true number 1 receiver, get Douglas more involved, run the ball better Mac would ball out but we don’t have any speed outside of Douglas. Their TEs are good but we don’t have any real speed or explosiveness outside of Demario maybe if Tyquan can get back and stay healthy then it’s gonna cause defenses to respect the speed but we definitely have to get Mac a WR 1 next draft we have to put the pieces around mac and protect him this team would be so much better off and Mac would ball out.

the patriots got a win, so tell me, why am i totally depressed about their chances to return to the summit of nfl while bb stays as head coach...
deciding to run the ball as a focus is one thing, deciding that every first down no matter what will be a run is just stupid. not only did we run on 1st down every single first, we still ran it on 1st and 20 because of a penalty.
the play calling left the players out to dry this week. its 1st down, your whole playbook should be open, only running on 1st telegraphs the play to the defense and lets them tee off every 1st down, and guess what, by the end of the game rhamondres numbers look like poop, 2 yds, 2 yds, -1 yds. its not Rhamondres fault that the defense knows hes coming.
idk why we decided the offense was not allowed to throw for real this week. felt like 90% of the throws less than 5 yds downfield. running the clock is for icing games, we should never be running the clock out in the 2nd qtr. its admitting defeat.
I dont understand why Zack Wilson being bad means we're not gonna let Mac try to be good. his only deep throw was a TD he checked into. Pass offense was not allowed to play today by the coaches.

I hear double talk. On one side, you say Pop will be the offense. Then you grade Mac poorly and acknowledge Pop wasn't a part of offense. Classic have your cake and eat it too. They played conservatively and refs were against us. That's not the QBs fault. They have success throwing the ball, and instead ran on second down. Drive killers. Your run game sucks. Stop saying Dre putting up Nick Chubb numbers - he didn't. In fact, his hands were worse this game than any other game this season. The offense needs to score throwing TDs. Plain and simple. They don't let Mac throw the ball so grading him is useless. You grade him on managing turnovers and wins. A+

I disagree. The line is still struggling greatly. Mac was under duress on 60% of his throws, and you said it at the end, they couldn’t ice the game by running the ball to 1st downs. The biggest problem remains the offensive line.
